basic hand tools you will need if starting in the electrical field. no need to over load your tool belt or buy tools that are not necessary. every tool has its place and time. but I'm about starting a trade and making money. #electrical #electrician #handtools
Come back highlife electrician! I need more videos and updates lol
Believe its .83 amps to kill u
How u did your ground stripping back couple inches to wrap around ground screw here in Cincinnati we call that a window cut
U only have to strap 1ft away from boxes and every 6 foot after for mc
Name of the tool bag ??
U should strap it
Drop more videos bro !!
You are absolutely correct, I need to.
MC needs support 12” out the box. I wouldn’t support in between those boxes you’re doing.
No, you should'nt have to use a strap.
There are different ways to describe a California 3-way (Coast 3-way). One description is to say that one of the switch boxes does not have a neutral wire it in, the neutral being used as a hot. Other folks can probably describe it better. (I just subscribed).
Great answer!
Today code tho you have to have a neutral in every box now.
dead end 3 way-Calif 3way?
Yes
I always forget the terminology as well so I always day HOT or lime side LOL But it's known as the common for the more anal ridden sparkys
Love the setup! I also carry minimal hand tools. I just can’t seem to go without carrying my 10” channellocks
Hey I really like you demeanor and way you explain things. I subscribed and hope to see more videos.
Good Video. I appreciate that you give the names of things like the boxes and cable straps. Keep doing that it is a big help. I hope you can continue to build your channel.
Thank you for watching!
what brand phillips bit you using in your milwaukee?
I buy Dewalt pack @ homedepot.. thank you for watching 🙏🍻
finally someone that uses his tools
Use and abuse :)
YOUR TOOLS ARE FUCKING 😍❤️
I would have used a fork on the stranded. Easier and gets rid of any chance of it ever touching the box and secure connection
I agree. That really is the best way to do it
Good morning. I see you have a drill and impact wrench, but where do you carry your bits and other tools?
Great question.. I should demonstrate how I pack tools for a day. I actually need to do that tomorrow and I will record it. Thank you for watching and asking!
I feel like the M12 Impact Driver has plenty of power for everything Electrical. From small screws up to large nuts the M12 Fuel seems capable to do it all...and its pretty lightweight. From my experience, you dont really and alot of power...the main exception being a Drill, you NEED an 18v drill.
I totally agree with you. I went several years only with the m12. It has plenty of power with the bigger battery for all day.. but also I have had to replace more m12 impacts then only one m18. After 15 years you go with what works the best and most efficient for your projects. Time & tools are money. The m18 over long term has been king for me and with matching batteries the m18 drill( you already need anyway ) it makes a great match.. I support what ever makes you faster at the trade. Thank you for taking the time to watch!
@@highlifeelectrician7690 that actually makes a lot of sense. I have notice the M12 will drain batteries alot faster then an M18, also have the tendency to overload it more often. While it'll still get the job done, I can see that what your talking about the life span of batteries and tool being less then M18
Nice! Gona watch this later, but wanted to save this! popped up in my feed
No, u don't have to strap it if it's that close. They would not be that close in real life anyway. Strap it within 12" of the box if it's beyond 12
Great answer! Thank you for watching! It's rare with boxes, more so with can lights or pendant lights 2' away where I have seen new guys struggle on what or shouldn't strap
Get some rotosplitters for the mc
Hi Can you do a video about coreline and how to work it ?
Sorry are you referring to MC cable?
@@highlifeelectrician7690 I mean coreline inside of the concrete
I will actually be doing that on a job here soon for a commercial break room island. I will record it and say how I do it.
I just started a residential gig and haven't figure out the bag/belt transfer logistics yet. I got a tech MC and want to bring all my tools but don't want to stop and fill my little pouch up at every stop
I find it's easier to do residential with a tool belt. Since you move around a lot with large awkward tools constantly like a drill with an auger bit, a hammer, and lots of fasteners and bits like staples, wood screws for boxes, and wire nuts. You should just carry the essentials though, for rough in I had it down to lineman's, hammer, strippers, razor knife, dikes, impact, and I left the drill on the floor unless I was using it. I never wear a tool belt in commercial though, just a small pocket pouch.
Do you keep your meter/ticker, flashlight in another bag?
Kinda, I have a bucket that is readily accessible in my van. I keep my meter, mainly used screws/anchors, drill bits and hammer(cause I do more commercial),zip ties, flash light, ect. They are what I use on a regular basis but not really enough to constantly carry.. if I know what my tasks are I judge off that if I need to carry something extra said day.. thank you for watching and the feed back!
