    Do I need to get a special board if im goofy footed?

    • @kingprone7846
      @kingprone7846 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tyler Mag no. There is no such thing as goofy or regular in kitesurfing as you need to ride both sides for kitesurfing. This video is a bit outdated now anways. Due to the fact that kites these days have great windrange, massive depower and boards are slightly better designed a lot of people these days only have 1 board which is smallish (140cm) but more wide (44cm or so). Tbh I weigh 80-85kg and I ride a 130 x 40 cm from 2007 without a problem. Only difference is that my old 156 x 46 was slightly easier to plan (irrelevant after you can do waterstarts and have ok kitecontrol), you didnt have to dig your heels in as much to go upwind and the bigger board was a bit more stable. However, a bigger board is also much more affected by the chop so in the rough sea of the english channel I can actually go more upwind in lightish winds than with my bigger board!

    • @tylermag3207
      @tylermag3207 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +KingProne okay thanks. That makes sense. I went with a slightly larger board because I figured I'd get out more with lighter winds. It just feels awkward riding regular since I've been doing goofy my whole life. Guess that will just take practice. And it also feels weird how spread out my legs are. I usually keep them shoulder with apart and this feels like I'm doing a split. Guess I'll just have to get used to that as well.

    • @kingprone7846
      @kingprone7846 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      you need the wide stance to direct the board upwind or downwind. Your front leg should be straight and backleg slightly bent. If your stance is too narrow you cant do this.

  • @anteljulj3835
    @anteljulj3835 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well anyone who is watching this video should think of this: kite's are better, smoother, more stable and have more windrange. Tried it myself, try for example North Rebel windrange (google). Every year equipement is getting better and better, this video is 6 years old.

    CORE FUSION Carbon 141/42 will be a 1 board quiver for me, anything from 10-50mph and this baby with JAM! Unique hull design with enough flex so soak up all the lumps and bumps, plus mega upwind capability.

  • @bowmosexual
    @bowmosexual 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just took on a CORE FUSION Carbon! What a fantastic board, very very light and with an RRP of £700 it's priced right ($1040) hehe! German building at it's best, it's the Mercedes of the boarding world I reckon. Took it out the day after delivery and was out for 6 hours straight (and I mean without a break). Was pumped with 20mph and my 17 Slingshot Turbine! BooM. Google Search CORE FUSION KITEBOARD

    yeah I Love my rev I'm learning on it as well My first LE.. Iv been into stunt Kite's sense I was a lil guy but then I got into Power Kites I was into some board sports before so I put the 2 together started land board with cheep Power kites and then I got my rev 13 on e-bay used only 2 Times for $650usd Kite only and my Big twin tip back in 2010 Taught my Self to body drag water start and I was just getting the upwind part then skiped a few Years now I'm back were I started..

  • @bowmosexual

    I also have a Nobile 2HD 132 which is nice :)

  • @bowmosexual
    @bowmosexual 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The REV 13 is a GREAT kite, my friend had a 9 & 13 and I had the 11 & 15 a few years ago, they're what we learned on and without them it would've been a lot harder I think. The Turbine is a nice slow POWERFUL kite, lots of time to think and very very grunty. For your weight I'd say you'd be up and off in 10mph upto around 18mph then it would be a handful. At the moment I'm looking at yet another board, the Core Fusion Carbon 141x42, nice board and should be for 799eu :oO

  • @allen423100
    @allen423100 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice selection you got there. I Need a qwiver! my self right now My only Kite is My Slingshot rev13m and 2 boards if its real Light I got my 144/44 door looking board and when medium to Lit up I got my 137/42 slingshot Crisis I'm about 195 to 200 depending on eat or dump lol only having 1 useabel Kite I can only go out when lucky. Its normally between 10 and 20 where I ride a good day 15 to 20 but most the time only 8 to 15. how do you Like Your slingshot turbine.? that Might be my Next Kite..

  • @bowmosexual
    @bowmosexual 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    My boards have changed yet again, my main board is now a 132/41 Navisboard and light wind board 135/43 Wainman Blunt. Kites depend on wind strength, but mainly as follows: 8-15mph - 17m Slingshot Turbine 2013 14-20mph - 14m Slingshot RPM 2012 20-30mph - 12m or 10m Slingshot RPM 2012 30-45mph - 8m RPM 2012 Anything higher or lower I don't go out. My 'Snowboard' is a Nobile Snowkite Specific. My spare kitesurf board is a Nibile 2HD 132/41 2012

  • @bowmosexual
    @bowmosexual 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Only just come across this video after all this time. Yes area not volume, volume is for windsurf boards that need to float with rider included. Selection is also down to ability. I'm a 280LB kiter and when learning I couldn't manage a 160cm board as I couldn't get it to turn fast enough, ended up with a Flexifoil Alpha 144/44 which took me to new levels. I now use a 134x42 as me everyday board and a 140x46 as my biggy. If I ever need anything bigger then it's not worth going out.

  • @surfthegnar

  • @KHKKiteboarding
    @KHKKiteboarding 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @arenaTM1-Thanks for watching. A 14 meter bow kite would be most sutible for your size because it would be your medium size kite that you can fly in medium winds.To increase your days on the water, you will notice that the area in which you are kiting has either stronger winds or lighter winds. A second or third kite will be needed to cover the entire wind range and ensure you the maximum amount of days on the water. If you have any other questions please email us.

  • @ArenaTM

    so if I am 220lb 6'4" and I want a bow kite, what size would suit me to kite in medium winds? 14 m2?
