There is something lyrically about this song that just soothes my geeky, misfit soul. It's like the anthem for all ugly ducklings everywhere - it's ok to feel out of place, if these guys can make something of themselves then so can you. No copyright infringement intended. Tripod - SkitHOUSE - Come Back On You (Guitar Smash)
There is only one way to write this song, and that is to have lived this song. This always brings a warm and sweet feeling to this aging bard.
I actually kind of like this scene better than the other one. If only because he's a lot more vulnerable and open here. In the other confession, it's really easy to completely skip the part where he admits to using you, and if you DON'T skip it, he's pretty flippant about it. Imo this version of the conversation just works better. Kind of wish you didn't have to choose between it and getting to talk about you respecting his boundaries with the Drow.
I got the drow conversation, how do you get the other one?
@@YourLordPhrog I believe this is the confession that happens if you take Raphael's deal and kill Yurgir BEFORE talking to the drow.
@@supremeoverlorde2109 I think that's what I did, but I got the boundaries convo.. ?
@@YourLordPhrog I'm pretty sure if you are romancing Astarion and have his approval high enough, you can get one of the two confessions when you rest at Moonrise Towers. If you killed Yurgir but haven't talked to Araj by the time you rest at Moonrise, I believe you get this confession. It may be that if you kill Yurgir first but talk to Araj before resting at Moonrise, you will still get the other confession where he thanks you for respecting him. But I'm not 100% on that.
@@supremeoverlorde2109 Oooh that could be it... I kinda went through act 2 in a very messy way :/ So it is most likely that I have killed Yurgir then talked to Araj right after getting to Moonrise without resting.. Such a bummer I would've loved getting this convo. But the other one was rlly nice too :)) Thanks!!
To get this scene you have to do the orthon before talking to th drow or how?
One of my all time favourite Tripod songs.
Watched the dvd again last night with my daughter... we just recently started playing D&D.
I am still humming this tune, now that I’m home.
Same, still humming this tune a decade later
play this at my funeral please
I need the hug to last, like, 30-45 seconds, maybe a minute. 😢 A hug is more intimate than any other act in this game, in my opinion.
Will always love the after drow confession the most
"His nuts are hanging down like a cow."
Somehow I've romanced him four times and literally never got this scene 😂 i saw someone mention it and was like "wait, you mean you can get the romance without talking to araj first???" And now i know what it looks like lol so thank you for recording it
Can you get this scene with medium approval?
This song is straight up genius.
I think the “This doesn’t sound good” is their equivalent to “Are you breaking up with me?” Because you should never start a conversation with the words “we need to talk”
I'm guessing this scene was updated? His facial expressions seem much more natural here, and the camera angles are a bit different I think (BEST SCENE EVER IMO)
I see you have the golden squad. Astarion, Shadowheart amd Karalch are my main crew
100% Astarion and Karlach. I add either Lae’zel and Gale every now and then by switching Shadowheart out
It's weird, I was at almost max with him at this point and I didn't get the dialogue option to hug him in this scene. I could only do the rest.
Ugh this scene makes me happy cry 🥺
did the animations get updated here? They look really nice.
I know they've done something to it I just can't pinpoint it. XD some have confirmed expressions have been changed in some parts but I think they did something to his hair. It seems more flowy.
This was recorded the day prior to patch 3 dropping, so I’m unsure if they got updated or not.
i was at very high approval with him at the start of act 2 (80ish), am now at exceptional approval (95) after doing a few side quests, and after a few long rests i still haven't gotten this cutscene :') i'm not sure if it's bugged or other companions cutscenes have just been taking priority for whatever reason (i've gotten a wyll and gale scene already even tho theyre at lower approval) soon i hope, it's so sweet
no, you get this scene when you meet a certain character in Moonrise Towers.
I’ve read online that you need to trigger the moonrise towers waypoint for this to trigger. I’m not sure how true that is, but I had triggered the waypoint and done the first interaction with Ketheric inside the tower. I had also gone upstairs and passed the probing by Z’rell by thinking about Astarion. You definitely don’t need to see the drow for it, as that triggers a slightly different cutscene. I didn’t go and see the drow until last night, very definitely after this scene.
@@ShinyKettle i’ve unlocked the waypoint, spoken to ketheric and z’rell, and distracted her by thinking about astarion for the approval bump. still nothing. i think it may really be bugged for me, since the scene where he’s trying to read his scars didn’t trigger until act 2 as well (i thought it would be this scene when the exclamation for it appeared over his head), whereas in my other playthrough it triggered much earlier on. i think i’ll just speak to the drow in the kitchens and hope that does the trick in terms of actually being with astarion, because right now he’s just exceptionally fond of me without progressing the relationship lol. regardless, thank you for your help! it’s appreciated!! 🩵
@@eve684If it helps at all, this wasn’t an exclamation cut scene. It triggered after I went to bed for the night. Maybe you’ve got a bit of a backlog on sleep cut scenes? I’ve been a bit relaxed with taking long rests since the bite scene didn’t initially trigger and he, at first, rejected me at the Druid party - I rage reloaded and did some extra quests and long rests to trigger the bite scene and finally get his approval up enough.
Hopefully you’ve got around this by now but as of Patch 3, you get it as soon as you kill the Orthon for him if you’ve not dealt with Araj. Before that it was a bit more random in what it happened but now you need exceptional approval and Raphael must have relayed what the scars mean.
Me: Hug him. The only option is hug him... All other options, no. HUG HIM!
I know, I know. I really wanted to hug him when I saw the option, but was so torn for a bit there because he’d been forced to do so much over the years I felt bad forcing a hug on him without his express permission.
I chose to "open my mind" because of the former dialogue about disgust and vulnerability concerning physicality. Also... I think when someone has severe trust issues and doubt, being able to literally see into your mind would be the most reassuring. ❤️ But yes, he deserves all the hugs!!! 😭
I want him.
Me too
What are you using to record? OBS should be better if it isn’t what you’re using.
I’m currently playing via steamlink on my old MacBook as my partner has in on their PC, so I’m using blackhole as a driver to capture sound and using the inbuilt screen record to capture the whole thing. Unfortunately my Mac is too old to use OBS, but thank you for the tip - I will look into it if I ever get the chance to upgrade.
This is such a beautiful song. I hope these guys know how much people love them.
I was fortunate to meet them about 15 years ago. The do know, and it makes them very happy.

Haven't heard this in forever and am now a blubbering nerd mess. Right in the feels!
everything about this song is beautiful.
O watch this video since 2015, and come back here every year
Can't get this song out of my head. Enchanting melody, amazing lyrics "sprinkler spits a snare drum beat" has got to be one of the most uniquely inventive song lines going. Tripod - The immense talent mix of 3 geniuses - If it's Elana Stone doing backing vocals and maybe accordion, she has a voice like honey!
Jesus Christ how is this still so good 😂😂😂
Still one of my favorite Tripod songs. Recently, I helped my 7 year old daughter get her first set of dice. Now I can't hear this without getting teary-eyed at the bridge. I really did grow up to be a bard. <3
That makes me happy. I'm 16 and play D&D. Dungeons and Dragons will live forever. As long as imaginative dorks live and breathe it will be around.
This song makes me sad, but I keep coming back to it. It's a great song.
"I know we all go back to dirt at the end of the day, but I will still play." My father's song from the day he was born to the day he paid the boatman. My song from now until I draw my last breath. "Laugh at me, that's nothing new, it was always this way. Change all the rules of the game from what they were in my day. I will still play." <3
wish there was a light on the drummer there because damn he was really shifting it into maximum overdrive for this one
What's the picture from?
I think they dressed up as their Tripod vs the dragon characters. I'm not sure though. That's just my guess.
This is one of my absoluate favourite Tripod songs <3
