I didn't believe the other youtuber, Louise Mcclung when they apologised for their part in this, especially with how hard they were trying to defend their points and arguements they made in their video, and failing horribly at it. Then only apolgising for his video and part in it when he saw that Cataclisym not only took down her video but also apolgised for her lies and slander. Only then did he apologise for his poor points, arguments, and continually spreading of lies and slander. I for sure don't believe her apology. I think she was going for someone she thought would be an easy target and would back down to her lies and slander or apologise despite the fact DankyJabo literally didn't do anything wrong. When he not only didn't back down but also called them out and proved thay they were lying. Then the publics perception of them both changed and they started getting flack for the misinformation and slander they spread, rightfully so, then only then did they finally apolgise for what they spread. She thought that she would get views, an audience, and social media engagement from this drama that she started. Now it's backfired on her and she didn't get the response she wanted, now shes backing down and apologizing. These people, Cataclisym and Louise Mcclung, are living breathing snakes in human clothing. I don't believe a thing they said and probably never will. They've proven they will say anything for views and clout, whether it's true or not.

This whole witch hunt against "friends" makes no sense, bc if accountability and change is what you want, then they need friends to hold them accountable and make sure they are making positive steps to change! Otherwise, people will revert back to their nasty ways or could double down and become worse! Friends should be the first to hold you accountable and the first to tell you you're messing up your progress in these situations. To want an alleged abuser (I don't know the Alex situation well, so I'm gonna say alleged) to be alone is dangerous, bc no one is there to check them when they start backsliding. Regardless, Danky made it clear he was simply an employee, so these "apologies" are seriously lacking. Both creators (Kat and Louis) need to take a step back and decide if content creation is for them, if they are so quick to jump into the fire of unsubstantiated claims.

My critiques of "Shadiversity" boil down to this: 1.) This first critique of mine is directed towards all HEMA/sword channels, and it's the tendency to not actually teach anything interesting in their field, but talk about how much everyone ELSE'S stuff sucks. I'm genuinely interested in learning about ALL swords, but instead of teaching about a particular area of expertise, half the videos on Shadiversity's channel just diss on katanas (more on that later) or some other non-existent video game or movie weapon instead of teaching or discussing anything useful about the swords they love so much...other than to compare it to what they dislike. This same tendency extends to the TH-cam martial arts community as a WHOLE, where instead of actually releasing meaningful videos, it's this NEVERENDING slop of, "is your martial arts school a Mcdojo?!" 2.) I have to preface this next part by dropping my credentials as a teacher of Haidong Gumdo (a Korean sword art similar to Japanese Kenjutsu) and as a competitive bamboo cutter. With that being said, Shadiversity's katana videos just make him look dumb. He obviously has NO clue what he's doing with Japanese weapons, despite his claims of having once studied kendo and some other Japanese sword arts previously. He made that claim in a video YEARS ago, and I called him out on his BS, which resulted in his cult of fans basically dogpiling me in the comments. The worst was the cutting ability comparison between a longsword and a katana, where he proceeded to demonstrate the absolute WORST cutting form I've ever seen in my life...then he claims the katana "has no advantage in cutting". ...look, I don't really care either way. I do what I do because I enjoy it, but if you're going to make such a comparison video, at least have the decency to FAIRLY compare them, and if you can't do that yourself, go find someone who ACTUALLY knows how to use that weapon properly. It'd be the same if I started making videos dissing on longswords where I horribly misuse said longsword and then were to make a sweeping generalizing claim about longswords being trash. Heads would EXPLODE in the HEMA community, I'd get SOOOOOO much hate in the comments, and they'd all team up and ratio my videos. Regardless, for me, this level of intellectual dishonesty casts doubt on ANY of his credentials and makes me wonder why ANYONE takes him seriously. To me, he just looks like some out of shape dude in a mid-life crisis who plays too much Skyrim and Dark Souls, then woke up one day and decided he'd start a TH-cam channel.
