It’s Just An Australian In A Suzuki Kei Car. 😂
@@hihackerwerto1795 good job it was only a two seater sofa 😂
Great Memories I had the Norton Dominator 99 on the road which was used for the 500 mile race around that time. Entered by Lawton and Wilson ( Southampton ). Still riding Ok at 80 year old but now on a 2004 MV Brutale F4 750.
@@oldblokeonaducati.8365 Thanks! It was a Cine film made my late father and I’m really glad that I could share it.. Due to poor health, he’d unfortunately finished riding by 80 but never lost the passion.. and you’ve definitely given me hope that I can still ride a beautiful MV when I’m 80!!

Absolutely brilliant film, this race took place back in my day and it brings back such great memories
@@rotax636nut5 Many Thanks! It was filmed by my late father and a great memory of him and the racing history surrounding the Worcester Auto Club at the time.. I’m so pleased that you enjoyed it!
There a wheel missing…. Thank goodness you got the proper exhaust layout. Was a great bike.
@robrussell8515 here's a sneak peak of the front wheel 😄 th-cam.com/users/shortsjN9azJzpvUQ?si=QpNIjeLkSYH0u-ti You're right, they are a great bike.. I had one years ago and always missed it until now.. Genuine style exhausts are a must but hard to find.. these are reproduction and match genuine perfectly! Still putting together a full resto video.. I need to pull my finger out! 😆
@@47bikeshed i had an 250rs back in the early 80s was my second bike. Lovely machine. I’m just jealous. Was so light could be thrown around corners. Not the fastest machine on the road but still a good bike.
@@robrussell8515 I do have another 250RS frame and an XL500 engine which will be a lot of fun when built!
@@47bikeshed oh now that would be interesting- bit powerful
Just awesome. A lot of people rag on the Tyga kit but I quite like the look - it's not better than the original, just different and unarguably makes the bike look a lot sleeker and more modern. The restoration over all was well done and turned out brilliant. Next time it'd be great to see some video of the process rather than just still shots but I understand that would be a lot more work!
@@seanylewl Thanks, Really appreciate your comments! I totally agree on Timelapse vs video, There will be videos coming 🙂 Unfortunately, this and the 250RS I restored were before I decided to begin the channel, so I’ve had to sift through and arrange all of the photos.. it’s taken hours 😂
Inspiring, thank you for the video😊
@rn1985 thanks!! 🙏
Sorry Grinder

👌
Looks incredible, well done
Thanks @seanlewl !! Yes, really pleased how this came out! The final part regarding the fairing repair is being put together now.. stay tuned 🙂
🎉
Looks mint now!
@@robdesposito7176 Thanks! It might show the rest of the bike up!! 😂
The glory days , the smell of castrol R and mud on the exhaust all came back to me watching this . Just been transported back in time to Matchems and Benham .😊😊😊😊
Glad you enjoyed it @chrisbutlersmith9970 ! I have some old R30 that occasionally gets added to the mower fuel just to get ‘that’ smell!! 😃
@@47bikeshed I do exactly the same with my mower . It's a pleasure to cut the grass then .
@chrisbutlersmith9970 yes indeed!!
@@chrisbutlersmith9970 I used to do that with my mower too (in the '60s)
@57dogsbody yes.. left over race fuel always has a purpose! 😃

Ah, road racing in Europe. I was an avid reader of Cycle magazine about this time, in high school and with a new 200cc German made two-stroke (which served me well btw). But, our road racing in the U.S. had the likes of Brad Andres, Joe Leonard, Carrol Resweber on Harleys, putting feet down in the corners and basically adapting dirt-track style to pavement racing. What a comparison. We did have Jody Nicholas who rode a BSA Gold Star as I recall, and he was getting in there with more of a European approach.
Thanks for watching and commenting @whalesong999 glad you enjoyed the video! Got more to upload soon including the 1960 Thruxton 6 Hour, so please subscribe to get the notification when this drops! 🙂 This was a Cine film that my late father (on the Gold Star intro video and the reason why ‘47’ has become our number 🙂) had shot.. it was converted to digital a few years ago and too good not to share! I would love to pin point the actual year and confirm some riders (work in progress!)
this needs to be played at double speed to be correct.
Good call but 1.5 feels ok to me.
Cheers Simon, it was converted straight off the Cine Film - could have been the projector speed I guess?, I’ll have a play with the original digital - do you have any tips? Cheers and thanks for watching, I’ve got more to upload soon, so please follow and subscribe for updates..cheers, Steve.
@@47bikeshed I studied the motions of the flag man at the start to assess a realistic speed. Subjective, I know, but went with what felt most "comfortable".
@whalesong999 Thanks! That’s a really good tip! People movements are much easier to gauge speed 🙂
