I believe whoever did this crime was known/trusted to the three. I don't believe for a second that Robert Cox was involved. His comments to the reporter can be taken out of context and gave me the gist that it was just him giving his opinion on the case. Suzie's brother Bartt is a great fit, he's a chronic alcoholic that was violent to both his mother and sister, was thrown out of the house a few times, and followed a random 14 year old girl into a nail salon and demanded the staff to hand her over to him. It's just not a good look when your connected to three other disappearances. I also believe it could have been a member of their peer group. The girls had a friend in common, who has described each girl as her best friend, yet it was never at the same time apparently. She had a boyfriend with a wandering eye, who cheated on her and knocked up another girl around that time. Her father owned a successful mechanic shop, so not terribly long after the girls disappeared, this friend got married, and her father gifted her a home which was built on the family's property. Her little sister was also gifted a house on the same property. I could be 100% wrong and off base here, but I just feel that it's one or the other.

I've heard that the Springfield 3 were likely killed by suspected serial killer Larry Hall. Larry Hall was in Springfield during the time the Springfield 3 disappeared. Mr. Hall was involved in a Civil War reenactment at the nearby Wilson's Creek Battlefield at the time the three women disappeared. Now the evidence involving Larry Hall with the Springfield 3 is circumstantial in nature. Larry Hall has never been charged in the disappearance of the Springfield 3, because the evidence is only circumstantial. However, he's considered the prime suspect behind the Springfield 3. Fortunately Larry Hall is already serving a life sentence in a federal prison in North Carolina for kidnapping.
