TAB Performance BAM 4.5” v. 2024 CVO ST Screaming Eagle Titanium muffler sound comparison
มุมมอง 11K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a sound comparison between the TAB Performance 4.5” BAM stick and the Harley Davidson 2024 CVO ST OEM Screaming Eagle Titanium mufflers. The 2024 CVO ST muffler has been modified by removing the restrictors from both mufflers. Also, the fiberglass packing has been removed from the Left muffler only. The sound recording does not capture the sound profile perfectly. Subjectively, the TAB ...

This video shows how I removed the restrictor and fiberglass wrapping from inside the Harley Davidson 2024 CVO ST OEM mufflers. This enhances the sound profile of the factory mufflers - making your CVO ST sound louder and deeper. This is Part 1 of 2. Part 2 shows the reassembly.

Thank you for creating this video, I have the identical exhaust on my 2024 road glide CVO ST and I would like to make the exhaust louder so I’m going to go this route. Do you by chance have any videos of how it sounds now with everything removed?
Congrats 🎉🍾🎊🎈 best of luck
How do I order one
Are you selling the tabs ?
Thanks, but no. Going in another bike.
What I appreciate most about German Made Vehicles (BMW's), They are road ready from the factory. No need for all of these changes. 😂
BMW definitely make fine bikes! You don’t need to make any changes on a Harley. But one of the funnest things about a Harley is that you can make changes to make the bike your own. Harleys have a soul! 😃
What happens if you put holes into the restrictor and put it back? do you think you will have some back pressure? just an idea...
You will definitely have more back pressure with the restrictors in place. I just don’t know that that it would make much of a difference, as the pipes without the restrictors have a fair amount of resistance back pressure by themselves. Only way to tell would be to dyno the bike, before and after to see if there was any HP loss. 🤔
Good job! Nothing is more fun than taking brand new mufflers apart.
Thanks! You guys are the best!
Good morning hope all is well, how many miles did your bike have or those cvo st mufflers had when you did the extraction of the restrictor & fiber thread? I only have 14 miles on my bike lol it’s too quiet
Not sure about the mileage before - as I bought these from another person. Sorry!
@@PapaBiker thanks brother I think when I have a 100 miles I’ll do it😎
@@ComplaintFree Just a heads up - the more miles on the exhaust, the harder it is to remove the fiberglass packing as it starts to break down and only comes out in pieces…
@@PapaBiker ok so you think I should do it soon?
@@ComplaintFree If you are going to do it anyway, sooner is better than later. Otherwise you will need to rig up some sort of rod with a hook to pull out all the fiberglass.
Hey boss I’m waiting for the video with the sound on it,please make a sound video. .. thanx
Did your check engine or fi light come on after this? Did you lose power ?
All ran well! Don’t know about any loss of power…. At least I didn’t feel any. I didn’t do a before and after dyno test.
I like the silhouette of the bike with that rear seat cowl. I think it would look perfect painted raven black metallic or whiskey neat. Your bik looks and sounds great. The Whiskey Neat is still my favourite colourway for the CVO RG.
Thank you!
👌
Good afternoon. Any chance you can show where exactly the sensor is located/mounted on or near the jiffy stand?? Thx greets from Germany
I’ll do another video to hopefully show this better! Thanks!
Throw all those pipes away and put you a nice 2into1 stainless exhaust like I did on my 23 Roadglide-ST. More power and torque with a nice performance sound. Or buy a 2into1 with a dead pipe if you one of those that have to have pipes under hard bags.😂
A 2 into 1 stainless would look pretty excellent!
There is a TH-cam video with your Bike that has one in a dyno. Check it out. It makes the bike look mean, and looks good.
@@Prometheus1979 Thank you! I’ll search for it!
I think it’s throttle blip the TH-camr.
Let’s hear it?
I’ll make a video shortly!
Awesom video, will you let us know how it sounds.
Will do!
Tabs are ok, I decided to go with the KW 4.5" on mine. I wanted the deep loud sound.
I hear you! Klock Werx makes some very nice mufflers too! 😃
Does this mod have any effect on back pressure?
Great question! It seems like it would affect the back pressure. But I had noticed no decrease in power in the low end. 😃
The exhaust on the left side actually gets hotter faster and spits more exhaust. Ive checked with running mine, though i still have a 20 and not sure if they changed the flow for the 24. So really, your right muffler would be "quieter" or should be.
Unless maybe you have a true dual set up, the factory exhaust with all Harley Touring frames flow much less exhaust from the left side. Maybe you have a non-factory exhaust?
@@PapaBiker i do, but i thought the stock header pipe did the same. Maybe im wrong not sure.
Right side is straight through left side has the big bend to get it to the other side of the bike.
Throw my victory next to that people wouldn't even look at Dat hd😅
What’s a Victory? 😂
Are they still in business?
I installed one on my 2024 street Glide (non-CVO) and it works fine except any brake light flashing will stop as soon as I activate the turn signals. Maybe that is by design since the turn signal light is embedded within the brake lights. Having the brake light flash at a different rate can mask or confuse looking at the turn signal while that is flashing?
Maybe! I think you are right!
The behavior I experienced is correct. Per the instructions: 7. Turn power on and test for function of the turn signals, running and brake signals with desired setting. Confirm that the turn signal will override the brake signal when the brakes are applied.
Do you know if they make one for a 2020 street glide? Thanks.
Yes! I believe they do!
Thank you for the video, I just ordered one.
Thank you! Ride safe!
Can we hear it?
Video coming soon!
How did the CVO st mods sound?
Sound amazing! I’ll post a video soon!
One would think if you can afford a CVO ST you could afford after market mufflers or even the whole exhaust system.
It’s always good to save money! 😃 But I really like the look of the OEM CVO ST exhausts, and they weigh only 12.5 lbs total! Great sound now too!
I mean carbon fiber is cool, why trash it?
@@seeda3473 Carbon fiber is still good! Just improved the sound of the exhaust. Thanks!
In his defense they are titanium and extremely lightweight
Sounds Amazing
Thank you!
I like that you appreciate your bike so much . Much love .
Thank you!!
Great looking bike. I like the color and contrast on the 23 vs 24 CVO. Unless you want to pay up for the orange upgrade, which looks pretty sweet. Not sure it’s 6k sweet though.
I hear you! Custom paint jobs are expensive! This one is called the Whiskey Neat, and Harley contracted with Gunslinger to paint it. I’ve been told that custom paint jobs can be in the $6-10,000 range!
Definitely thought the Tabs sounded better. I hate to give up the stock ST pipes, hoping the right change makes the difference. Can’t wait to hear the change. Subscribed!
I definitely understand that. The TABs were a bit louder and “thumpier”. I’m going to remove the fiberglass packing from the right CVO ST muffler and see how it sounds. My guess is that the volume boost will make it on par with the TAB loudness. A big difference in going with the CVO ST mufflers was the 10 lb weight difference! 😀
Can’t wait to hear how it sounds. Question, does this mod void the warranty?
Good question! Harley touring bikes have their catalytic converter in the head pipes, and not the slip on mufflers. So changing the slip on mufflers will not void the warranty on the bike. But, of course, any warranty covering the muffler is voided. 😃
Very helpful video. You mentioned that you could stop if you only want to remove the restrictor but then how do you remove the rivet ends? Can you shake them out! Thank you.
Oh, a misunderstanding…. 😔. You need to take off the carbon fiber tip and cap underneath to remove the rivet shafts. Sorry!
Not really a fan of the look on those.
I hear you! But it grows on you! 😀
Excellent video. My local dealer in Denver is going to install the Screamin' Eagle Extreme Flow Titanium Slip-Ons which are from HD cataloge (Part # 64901365) and are not off the Stock 2024 CVO ST. I'm installing on a 2018 Street Glide CVO. Are those the same ones you are working with in your Video? Also do they have any kind of Catalytic Converters? Thanks for the Video, it's very helpfull.
I believe those are the exact same. The catalytic converter is in the head pipes in the touring models. Not in the slip-ons. Hope you like them!!😃

Awesome video man

Awesome video man
Thank you!
Should have pulled the fiberglass packing on the otherside too...Way to quiet...I think i would have pulled that heat packing out of both too...
I agree! I’ll be pulling out the right side fiberglass this weekend!
@@PapaBiker Sic videos man, how did the sound turn out after you removed the packing from the right side?
@@rgstreets Sounds good! A bit deeper and louder.
Great video. I would like to keep my exhaust as well if I could do this. Don't know if I have the patience, but may give it a try. Thanks for the video.
Thank you! Give it a try! It’s really not that hard, and fun to do!
I hit sub button👍
Thank you! I really appreciate that!
Thanks for sharing! So you prefer the ST’s over the TAB’s correct? I’m waiting for my ST to arrive (in the Netherlands) and will definitely be doing the same 😎👌
Yes, absolutely
Was there any performance issues after the st exhaust was changed, popping or backfire?? They both sound great I have an st trying to keep the look but to quiet.
No issues whatsoever. No decel popping, definitely no backfires.
Excellent question with no backfires or popping It’s a must do for me.
Thanks so much for sharing this video Definitely two different sounds for sure the ST exhaust looks & sounds bada$$
Thank you! Definitely the ST exhaust with the mods sounds great!
Thank you, made my night I will be doing mine. Great videos!
@@robertmercurio2859 Thanks!
Did you do a sound comparison yet? Great video
Not yet! Soon!
Thank you
Bike looks great, nice job. I just purchased a 24 CVO RG in Legendary Orange. I like the Skull graphics on the fairing and rear saddle bag. Where did you get those? Thanks.
I just checked for car vinyl decal that are black reflective on the internet. Many companies sell these with the Harley skull.
Thanks for the information! Very well done. When is the sound clip coming?
Very soon!
Looking forward to hearing what they sound like 👍🏻
Thanks!
Just an idea. How about a strap wrench to remove the carbon fiber cap instead of a hammer?
Hmm.. 🤔 Maybe! Thank you for the suggestion!
Great job! Can’t wait for part 2 with the new exhaust sound and performance.
Thank you! I’ll have a video out with the sound very soon!
Awesome video job well done! I’m going to watch it twice to make sure I don’t screw it up. Can’t wait to hear how it sounds. Thanks so much for sharing.!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
