The Roland XP-50 is a music workstation that combines the synthesizer engine of Roland's JV-1080 sound module with the sequencing capabilities of their MRC-Pro sequencer and a 61-note keyboard. YM2413 FM Synt Finished and Mounted In The Blue Box - Playing Something

Here is a test of the FM synthesizer that uses the YM2413 chip (or UM3657), playing some excerpts of old well-known songs. I made the final assembly in a blue plastic box, it was very attractive and practical. The sound of this synthesizer is passing through the Zoom G1Four effects pedal, to add reverb, delay, string machine and phaser. Enjoy!

Here I demonstrate the sound of the famous gong used in Michael Jackson's song Beat It, generated by my DIY YM2413 FM synthesizer. At the time this gong sound was generated by the $200k Synclavier FM synthesizer. I think I got pretty close... :) By the way, now the YM synthesizer is housed in a definitive case, in blue color, it looks really cool.
