    The brain chemical explanation for the Natural Law of People says that everyone wants to participate in something that has meaning for them, where they can contribute, and their contribution is valued and then they are appreciated for their contribution. Create the right conditions in your organisation for the natural law of people to be fulfilled and everyone will be DOSEd up!

    Really important issue. Would be great to see some practical tips or examples of methods that work well for enhancing compassionate enforcing, beyond asking staff to create their own work plan and then working with them on meeting that. Additionally, tips on what to do when you are in an overly permissive environment and it seems you end up having to do or upgrade other people's work a lot because there managers either never check their work, or seem adverse to pointing out that there are huge weaknesses in it - even when its a high proportion of the financial data they have got wrong etc.

    Great video! Love it! When fatigue in marathon running was a thing, I would first just get dressed. You are dressed now, just put on the shoes. All we are doing is putting on the shoes. Well, now that the shoes are on, maybe just a little walk, so better make a little snack. Ok, I got my water bottle and snack, may as well go 1 Km. Well, if I am gonna go a KM I may as well do 2... etc.

    Great video David - I agree, Atomic Habits is a really good read. I love the way you connect habits to Hebb's law - "neurons that fire together wire together". It would seem that things become habitual once the new wiring is in place.

    The Gallup Q12 assessment is a perfect tool to see how engage you are at work. The new Gallup book " wellbeing at work " is a good read.

    • @Talent4Performance
      @Talent4Performance 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Johan, I agree that the Gallup Q12 is a good assessment but it is anonymous whereas this approach is specific to an individual. and therefor facilitates meaningful conversations for mutual benefit, for both the individual and the organisation. These days addressing individual needs it becoming even more important.

    • @cashflow495
      @cashflow495 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Talent4Performance I agree 100% with you that you have to have that individual conversation for mutual benefit. The Q12 assessment is step one of the proses and then you use the Gallup Q12 individual manager insight guide questions after you have the results sitting with the individual as the second step of the process. The anonymous assessment in the beginning gives a more true reflection of the engagement in the company. People tent to " tell you what they think you would like to hear if questions becomes more personal and "dangerous " for the individual.

    This was really helpful. I applied it to the metric of my family and personal relationship. My husband was unemployed for 4 years when we had a 1 year old. Yep. 4 years with a Masters degree. He did everything he could do, but the pressure became toxic for us, especially during quarantine. He has a job now that he really enjoys. The verdict is still out on us. The graph is helpful in visually understanding where the high stress points are and when actions become uninhibited. I'm applying this to my business, but it has other applications for me as well. Thanks for the teaching.

      Fair comment, there is currently a debate about it.
