Whats the secret? I’m getting 17mpg on my stock 24 willys auto gas.
Honestly idk, I drove it like an elder, mostly highway, city driving kills MPGs. Stock I was getting close to 22mpg, on 35s I was getting about 390 miles out of a tank of gas.
I went with 35's on my overland. I don't plan on re-gearing. I just re-adjust my driving habits. :)
Completely agree, I never re-geared mine. I just electronically calibrated the transmission’s shift points. It was done at the dealership, protecting the factory warranty.
Biggest problem is with majority of parts that they are Made in China and you can thank the Democrats for that like Clinton and party.
Love the Arcus and bought one for my JT Rubicon. Problem is that the factory fog mounts only work for the Sport and Sahara, not the Rubicon's LED's. Not sure why. Anyone have a link to a write up or video on how to adapt the Rubi LED"s to this bumper? I know it's been done and isn't supposed to be too hard. Otherwise, I'll figure it out or snag some from a Sahara. Nice video!
Dude, I know I’m about 2 years late on the release of this video but I gotta say thank you!! Most videos like this have to do with the high end Jeep models which is great I can still use the info they share, however there are some important factors that you need to know when upgrading other models like the Willy’s. I have this same Jeep gladiator just murdered out, all black everything it’s so clean and I’m so excited to be able to upgrade it but it’s not an easy task figuring out what the dos and don’t are when it comes to the lower models in the lineup. This video, helped me TREMENDOUSLY, I grew up in an old CJ7 owned by my grandfather I spent countless hours in that thing I. The rubicon trail, Mojave, all over the place and I’ve always wanted my own. Now with kids of my own I’m working to try and give them a similar experience so thanks again for making my life so much easier.
Me lo recomiendas para mi gladiator Rubicon? No tengo lift ni nada, pero siento que al menos le ayudaria!
You think it would work for a heavy ebike with a thick downtube?
The pad is versatile, the bigger issue I seen lately is the thick tailgates on trucks now. I had no issue with a buddies e-bike on my gladiator. If the bike fits over the tailgate, it will work with the Bomber… thanks for watching 🙏
Do you have a link for the DV8 bed rail guards?
www.extremeterrain.com/dv8-off-road-jeep-gladiator-bedside-sliders-srgl-01.html Sorry for the delayed response, this is the link, if it doesn’t work the website is extremeterrain.com and search rock sliders thanks for watching 🙏 I also have an install video of this rack sliders on my channel

Nice
Love your Gladiator very Nice!
Nice! I have one in sting grey. Is yours the 3.6l penastar as well?
Yes it is a 3.6 gas engine, very reliable so far. The sting grey has to be the best color for the Gladiator/Wrangler IMO. Thanks for watching 🙏
When your off road it’s all about “smiles” per gallon!!
Did you re-gear for the 35s and what lift did you use? If you did not re-gear, does it drive much differently?
I did not re-gear, I mostly drive highway & the biggest difference is the elusive 8th gear. It will engage 8th but any crosswind, overpass or if someone stares at your Jeep it downshifts. Other than that it’s still smooth and slow as ever 😆… My 3.5inch lift is a mismatch of parts, Skyjacker springs and arms, Fox shocks & steering stabilizer and some goodies from Terraflex… thanks for watching 🙏
That’s awesome! the wrangler 392 is a beast too. I agree super fun to daily
The eggplant/purple anodizing looks amazing. I’m sure the intergalactic/oil slick is just as amazing. I got their purple stem.
The finish is quite durable, it has outlasted some most of my SRAM cassettes (as far as wear). I believe they are worth the price, the intergalactic one is hard to come by. Thanks for watching 🙏.
Willys has 3.73’s I think. Not bad.
Fits the Joker color scheme. Love the music choice. How’s the GX AXS and Reverb AXS?
Before AXS I used (still do on another MTB) Archer Components wireless shifter; the Archer is way more user friendly. Adjustments on the AXS feel cumbersome, once adjusted it works great. The Reverb is pure perfection, well worth the money. Thanks for watching 🙏
Do you have 35s on ?
Yes, Maxxis RAZR M/T35x12.50 as a daily, awesome tire on and off road
@@HamboMTBdid you lift it ? Nice jeep
@@middlehot yes it got lifted at my local 4WP with a 3.5” Skyjacker lift with Fox shocks. Thanks for watching 🙏
I bought a 22 Gladdy Willys in Gobi-love it. One of your videos showed me I needed to recalibrate after my 35’s. Also here in DFW. Thanks!
Muchos Gracias senor!!! thank you for this review, i found it helpful, i love your gladiator! please update us with anything different! i hope you have a great day!!
I think all that gold hurts my eyes.
😂, that’s a reason I got rid of the handlebars. I switched to a carbon bar.
I dont get it.. theres already aux swirches on the willys, how can you connect it directly to thet?
Mine doesn’t have any AUX switches, I used the one provided with the kit. It was a painless installation, not sure how to hook up to factory aux, sorry…
@@HamboMTB done deal. power directly to batt, actuator on and off to purple and ground. done deal. works great.
Wow!! Love it!
Nice jeep gladiator
Thank you, it’s been a great Jeep & awesome at truck stuff. It’s come along way with still more to come. Thanks for watching 🙏
Nice set up man I have a 22 willys gladiator in sting gray also a fellow Texan. 🐤
Texas has an awesome Jeep community, I was in the hunt for the Sting Grey (best color IMO) but the cow 🐄 pattern on this one had me sold. It’s been a great ride so far, as soon as the factory warranty goes I’m going wild with the build. Thanks for watching 🙏 🦆
@HamboMTB I was either getting sting gray or white. But the white one had the smaller screen and the sting gray had the premium audio group that's what sold me 😆
I get 14 mpg and I have spitfire tuner lol
A big part boils down to driving style, I drive conservatively (not slow) lately though I haven’t seen 20mpg at all, mostly mid 18s occasionally 19…
@@HamboMTB ur right, I hammer that accelerator I can’t help it it’s so much more fun. I have a dual exhaust from magnaflow so I just want to hear it
Bro they charged u 125 to CALIBRATE?
Yeah, $125 gets you 3 months service.
@@HamboMTB 3 months service for what? Like oil change and rotate and like all that or just calibration needs
@@isaacwebb20 in case you Re-gear, change tire size again, switch from regular to LED lighting amongst other types of allowed reprogramming. They offer a $450 pack that covers the span of ownership.
@@HamboMTB doesn’t auto zone do that for free tho?
@@isaacwebb20 not sure, but I wasn’t willing to risk my warranty. I mostly daily the Jeep didn’t want to lose that peace of mind.
what is the difference between the older model and the revised model? I just bought one and i dont know if im getting the old or newer model
The easiest way to tell them apart is the air bleed valve, the newer models have it at the base of the dropper. The older models had it on top, so the saddle had to be removed to bleed air out of the system (to get rid of lag & ‘squishiness’) SRAM also improved upon the internals for faster actuation, the seat clamp was also revised for ease of use and reduced play, but it’s a bit taller than the old one. Thank you for watching 🙏
@@HamboMTB oh cool! so i have the newer version 😊 i just ordered from competitive cyclist can’t wait to put em on my bike thank you so much for enlightening me 😊
It fits the oem led fog lights?
Hi, yes the OEM fog lights fit perfectly. The bumper comes with optional brackets in case you want to go aftermarket. Thanks for watching 🙏
@@HamboMTB He asked if the LED OEM fogs fit, can you confirm that?
@@johndschult sorry for the confusing response. Yes, OEM fog lights fit. I’m running my OEM fog lights.
Do you manually disconnect it when you need too? How do you use it
Yeah, it’s a manual disconnect, and it has to been on a leveled surface. It’s nearly if not impossible to do it under any sort of flex. I ll get a short video on the process.
What hub did you install this on?
The hub is a fat bike hub from Origin8 with a SRAM XD freehub. Although the cassette is compatible with SRAM & Shimano drivetrains, you can only install them on XD freehub. Thanks for watching 🙏
@@HamboMTB yeah for sure but I also saw there's a tight fit with i9 hubs so just wondering if you.tried that
@@talesfromthetrailz most of my builds are composed of “budget friendly” parts, so I have yet to experience a industry 9 hydra hub. I know for a fact that for HOPE hubs a shim is required, which e*Thirteen includes with the cassette. The cassette has been on my BluePig since I installed it without issues and still looks practically new. Wish I had more information to offer.
Just bought a 2023 Gladiator Willys in Bright White, cant wait to Upgrade it ✌️
Congratulations, you’re gonna love the experience!
I have a 23 sport s 373 gears running 35’s and I never see 8th gear sometimes 7th most time 6th and I recalibrated the tire size to 35,s
Eight gear is a rarity indeed, but attainable. If your highways consist of many overpasses then you will definitely never see the magic 8th. But happy Jeeping nonetheless, thanks for watching 🙏.
Nice to know thank
Just bought a 2023 Gladiator Willys in Bright White, Love it 🤩 ✌️
👌nice rig, what bar width and rise? and what length stem are you running?👍
RaceFace Bar width was 800mm (uncut) with a 5mm rise (don’t quite remember if that is factual), stem was a nukeproof 30mm with no rise. Later on I changed to a set of carbon bars with a 15mm rise.
So with the 3.73 no regearing needed with 35s?
It’s not necessary, but it is recommended. With the 3.73 any wind gust or change in road elevation (overpass) and you can kiss 8th gear goodbye. You will only see prolonged use of 8th in long flat roads, with the wind pushing. I haven’t re-geared cause I didn’t want to void my factory warranty. Later (when this is not my primary mode of transportation) I’m planning on going 40s with chromoly axles, 5:13 gears, air lockers and a coil over suspension.
Thanks for watching 🙏
Sorry to bother again! Did you say you have an aftermarket mid pipe? Or do you still have the stock h pipe and added just the 2 hi flow cats. There’s a guy selling just the hi flow cats in my area. If all you have is the LM2 cat back and just hi flow cats with the stock h pipe, and it sounds this good, then I’ll get the hi flow cats.
Everything from the manifold back is SLP; I had the high flow cats attached to the SLP X-Pipe. You can buy the cats but they are designed to work with slp mid pipes. The whole system is ‘Modular’ meaning is meant to be used with SLP due to the metal clamps used to put it together. You can have a muffler shop retrofit them onto your current H-Pipe but the sound will be more mellow. X-Pipes give you a more raw/raspy sound, H-Pipes are more mellow and a bit deeper.
@@HamboMTB I thought the SLP x pipe already comes with hi flow cats? Why’d you add more? I was reading you can cut off the factory cats and clamp these into place too.
@@HamboMTB how much did you pay for the SLP x pipe?
@@davidryan160 if you bought the whole kit it all comes packaged together. But the exhaust system is ‘modular’ back in the day you could buy it separately to create your own custom exhaust. You could run the high flow cats with the x or h pipes or you could run a setup without the cats (not road legal). It was all meant to work together as long as it was SLP.
@@davidryan160 and yes you can have a muffler shop retrofit the cats to your current setup
Awesome jeep man. However if your on the beach doing that you need to watch. If you damage sea oats its a major fine. Serious about the vegetation on the beaches. Had a buddy get popped for 1200.oo fine. OUCH....Great looking jeep all said and done. Starting my build now.
Once you get started on that build it’s hard to stop. There are so many upgrades & parts out there. Thanks for the advice, I ll keep an eye out for protected plants. Most of that land is privately owned so rangers hardly go in there.
@@HamboMTB nice.....and yep Jeeps are like Harleys..... you buy one then you get started.....lol
The intro to your video says stock manifolds, but in the description, it says SLP header. To confirm, this has SLP headers and LM2 mufflers?
Sorry about that, the headers were never installed. That clip is with stock manifolds, the exhaust runs from manifold with SLP high flow cats and the LM2 mufflers.
@@HamboMTB thanks! This sounds awesome! I'm thinking about getting the LM2 catback system myself for my 02 GT.
@@HamboMTB some are saying these sound like the LM1. Are you sure these are LM2. It just sounds so good! How many hi flow cats did you end up getting?
@@davidryan160 LM2s for sure. Got the whole kit from Americanmuscle.com years ago, back then they offered many Kits that included headers, catted X or H -pipe, and the two resonators. The two cats you can literally see through them. Today they don’t offer much from SLP & i believe the headers have been since discontinued. I wish I had installed the headers, but never got around to it. Ended up selling the Stang, with lots of extra parts I never installed.
@@davidryan160 get the high flow catted X-pipe as well, makes a world difference on sound & some performance.
👍just ordered the large, at 6ft 1" hopefully will be ok🤔
Large should be good. I run a large, the reach is perfect. You can play with your steam lengths & rise to get that perfect reach & steering feel. I Run an XL frame on my BluePig, due to the radical geometry on it the XL just felt better. Ragley’s are highly underrated in my opinion, happy riding.
👌very nice, what size frame🤔
First of all, thanks 🙏 for watching. The frame is a 2020 Ragley BigAL size Large. Very comfortable frame, it has modern geometry without going too radical.
@@HamboMTB 🤔how tall are you, just ordered a large I'm 6feet, hopefully will be a good fit?
@@stevebennett3587 I’m 6,1 that should fit great, the reach is very comfortable. I run a short steam with no rise, I can ride this bike all day.
@@HamboMTB 👍that pivot suspension you have is sweet👌i was torn between the big al and nukeproof scout 290, the seat tubes are 20mm difference but have a similar reach on a large🤔i reckon the XL would've been too big for a 6ft rider👍
Can i ask what bar an stem are you running?
Hey! How are the wheels holding up? I'm looking to get a set so just trying to see how they hold up, thanks!
Sorry for the delay, I thought I had replied… The wheels were very solid the time I had them, honestly they felt way stronger than my other wheels. Engagement is second to none, and quality is superb. I only ran them for about 7 months as I sold my Mmmbop hardtail. Thanks for watching 🙏, sorry once again.
Just need to weigh things too, then it’s complete
Nice video, question did you have to shorten or lengthen your chain?
When just switching the cassette I did not change the length, but it may differ depending how tight you’re running your chain. I did end up adding a link on my chain, but that was due to adding a 34T AbsoluteBlack oval chain ring. The cassette is awesome BTW, Thanks for watching 🙏
Thanks man! ATS install incoming on the '22 JL. Your Gladiator looks frikn aw3some!
