Dad’s Rad Fords
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 26 พ.ย. 2024
Welcome to Dad’s Rad Fords! I’m Michael Parks and have been a certified Master Ford Tech for about 23 years and retired from the dealership mechanic life to working at home in my own shop back in 2023. My friends and family have told me forever I needed to make videos of just my day to day life because you never know what’s going to happen in my shop! So, my daughter and I have started this channel to share tips, tricks and just our goofing off moments too. In addition to my love of Fords and cars in general, I’m also pretty obsessed with BMX bikes and really just anything from the ‘80’s. You’ll find lots of cool Ford content and more on my channel!

I learned a lot in the process and hopefully can pass some knowledge down to y’all as well! Don’t hesitate to leave a comment and ask questions if you got em!

มุมมอง 30716 วันที่ผ่านมา
What’s up TH-cam people?!? In this video I’m reviewing Auxito LED Bulbs! Auxito reached out to us and ask if we would give them a try so we decided Lady Bird needed them the most, so they sent us over some bulbs for her! As you can see in the video there is a huge difference. The projection is awesome and we love the crisp color of the bulbs. I can’t wait to order more bulbs for the rest of my ...

We aren’t really doing too much in today’s video, painting Lady Bird’s front and rear windshield trim and some trim around the doors. I think we will make this a series called Sunday’s Around The Shop where we aren’t doing too big of projects, just goofing off and working on small things we have been needing to do t...

It was great meeting you at Roswell car show. The old school bmx bikes in the back of the truck had me intrigued for sure. Great channel and love the automotive content as well!
Great video I really enjoyed it GT is the number one In my opinion? 🚲
I’m convinced that performer is a 95. Subbed anyway, I love building gt and dyno BMX bikes, I’ve been doing my channel since last winter I believe.
Great job on the bikes. I just built a 94 pro series. You should get the wings bar end decals for the clear grips and you can see them right through. Also, if you ever want to tone down the yellow chain, you can do a yellow and nickel color. Nice work!
I actually just got those in the mail a few days ago lol!! I really appreciate the support!!
@@DadsRadFords You got it bro!
That 93 Mach One is bada$$. All the bikes are, but that one is really special. One of the last Mach Ones made in America. Cool shop, cool video. Subscribed
Heck yeah man thanks so much for the support!! That Mach is prob my favorite of the collection 😎
Great video man!
Thanks for the support!!
Was that steam at the end or something burning?
Just a little oil residue burning off the exhaust!! Wanted to show legit first time hitting the key fire up!!
Give Simichrome metal polish a try sometime, it works killer on chrome and does not scratch, I've even used it to restore plastic speedo, clock and etc. bezels.
Ok cool, heck yeah I'll check it out for sure!!
I like Brasso over neverdull.
Dude that’s a clean ass car. And I dig the 4.6 swap. Cool channel you got going man! Keep up the vids please!
Thanks man, I really appreciate the support!!!
Badass 👌💪
This was a very informative video actually bud. Love that car! Also what year was that quarter from in the hvac box and what kind of match books did you find 😂🤔
Thanks dude!!!! Can't remember the year of the quarter but the matchbooks were from New Hampshire, 2 motel ones and a J.O.B.one 😂😂
I just did my heater core and while I was in there also threw in the ac evaporator it's such a pain to do but hopefully worth it when I finally have AC in my car
Ohh yeah gonna be well worth it come summertime!!!
That's a Really good looking '79 hatch ! Have you thought about swapping in SN95/New Edge interior ?
Yeah and I've seen it done several times but I prefer the old school style interior on the 4 eye cars! Just something cool to me about have all original interior but full modern drive train and all modern tech running the car!! 😎
@DadsRadFords yeah, I agree. I think the stock interior fits the 4 eyes Fox's best. Although the SN95 interior IS a nice swap in the "aero" Foxs. The door panels are quite a chore to modify though & are necessary for a proper swap in my opinion, I was just curious if you've tried the swap before.
Yeah they do look a little better in the aero cars but I've never done the swap myself!! I like the sn/new edge dash alot though!!
Not the graham cracker dash 🤣🤣
New sunscriber here this is my first video of you but I appreciate your style and way of thinking it was really refreshing to hear that you like patina and age and still ride all your bikes that's kinda the setup i have at the moment too i have a Small free style collection and a big passion for anything bike related so I'm still fixing and riding every day i like the break down of the bikes and would be great to get a bmx collection video from you as well
@cyrusmcmullen429 man I really appreciate it!!! Imma try to keep the bmx videos mixed in regularly with other car content as I really am passionate about these old bikes!!
lmao i say that to my wife so she doesn't complain when I buy bikes dont worry I can always sell it down the road! Deep down she knows you aint ever sellin s#$%! lmao
LMAO sooo true but it works😂😂
very cool. i raced bmx from 1985-92 in the metro Atlanta area and all over the southeast. I'm 50 now and been lucky in life but nothing compares to those years racing. i'll be going to my parent's basement this weekend to pull out all my old bikes and accessories. i have a 1984 diamond back formula 1, free agent mini titanium...many more
@NATAS-cr3ss heck yeah man get those bikes drug out and get the dust knocked off em!!! 😎
I still have my original 1998 polished aluminum GT Show
Former fueler and Mach one owner, thanks for bringing back the memories
I still have my 95 Mach One too. Bought it when I was 14. It’s in perfect condition for its age. Oh I have a mullet too. Brother from another mother. 😂
😂😂YESSIRRRRR!!!
Sweet Tbird! Love your channel!
Thanks we really dig this old bird alot!! Really appreciate the support!!
Cool. I have a purple plasma 94 Dyno air I got for Christmas of 94 & an 88 GT Mach One. I also have a foxbody & a new edge too. Lol
That's too freakin rad man, I love all the pink and purple colored bikes!!
I've tried several brands and was disappointed. How are the hi beams?
Very bright and like I said in the video the projection is impressive!! I was impressed by that the most
Awesome stuff! Been waiting to see a vid like this. It’s a tease seeing your bmx’s lingering in the back ground. Still have my ‘90 GT Aggressor, and the frame fork set of my GT Vertigo from my childhood, and later on got 98 Hoffman Sugarbaby, along with a 96 Hoffman Condor. All stored away in my basement. I’m also a ford guy, and own a new edge mustang since 2003. My first ford was a 1979 F100 as my first build, then an 85 GT as my first mustang build, and now my current 02 GT. Great vids! Keep up the awesome content! 🤘
Heck yeah man get those bikes out and enjoy them!!! I'll be doing more bmx videos and I appreciate the support!!!
That Performer looks Awesome with the personal touches. That's funny, I was Gonna mention in an other video that I seen quite a few GT's & Dyno's from the 80's & 90's on the wall... but I ALSO seen that Powerlite up in the rafters, is that a P51 ? Also what's the chrome bike with the pink Skyways, pink seat & pink grips ? Initially I thought it was a Hutch but I'm sure it's not.
The Powerlite is a P19, got it with the performer in the video, i love the old Powerlite Powerbend handlebars!! The pink accent bike is a 87 Mongoose Decade!! Thanks for watching!!🤟😎
@DadsRadFords yeah, those Powerlite bars Nice... I had a set on my Robinson.
A 2V in that '79 Ghia is dang cool, but a Sulivan Racing 2V intake for a 4150 would be SWEET... pop the hood & see a 4.6 with a carb. Would make a little more power than the EFI intake as well. 😏
Yeah I agree that would be super cool but imma big EFI guy!! I love modern tech in a old car!! But I got a couple carbed vehicles too and they do run great lol
10th gen civic + auxito = daylight.
Funny you say you wore out the tape because i watched Rad till the tape broke lol so i assume you know The Dirt Bike Kids too. And i have a 99 GT Vert. My wife would say you and your friends are all the same. Now i'm starting to wonder.
😂😂 that's awesome yess I totally know dirt bike kid!!!!!!!
That's a good looking T-bird. I had an '88 root beer brown 302 myself. You know, them T-birds Are heavier and Do have a longer wheel base than the mustang & capri... and since it's already got the upgraded brakes, it's only fair to throw a 351w in there (preferably an F4TE roller block). Just say'n, don't mind me. 🙄
LOL yeah I hear ya!!! She is already dying for a choppy cam and some more power!!
@@DadsRadFords for a "mild" build 302 Street car. I like to use either the Trickflow stage 1 cam (220° / 225°duration at .050" .500" / .510" lift 112° lsa) or the Ford F-303 cam ( 226° / 226° duration at .050" .512" / .512" lift 114° lsa). Both will have a decent chop, and if paired with the GT40P heads (with better valve springs), the GT40P intake you guys already have, a 65mm throttle body, 24lb injectors & those long tubes you just put on the car, that 302 should make between 300 to 330hp at the flywheel. Not too crazy, but it'll sound Really good & she'll notice it's got Plenty more get up & go.
Nothing cooler than a full interior race car. Bad ass 2V
Thank you for your review!🤩
Absolutely!! We really like the products!!
Maxine needs some now!
My first mustang was a 79 Giah, gray with red interior, 302 , single exhaust , 4 speed manual 2 barrel carburetor. The interior door handles were on the bottom. The nose would wrinkle in the rain but straighten out on sunny days lol. Good times.
Looking forward to see the transformation! I can only imagine how it’s going to turn out! Love the content yall!!
Heeyyyy buddy, thanks for the support man!!!👊
Nice Save
My 2v brother from another mother!👍🏻🙌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 your channel is 🔥 🔥 🔥
Heck yeah man, I appreciate the support!! Glad to see other 2v guys out there 😎
Drifting? Say no more, let's get ya riding shotgun!
I'm pumped for some slidin around!!! 😂
Are those the circuit wheels
They are the AR1's from ARC Wheels
My first ever car at 17 was a 85 GT convertible. This old gal kinda made me think of her. I loved that thing man. Now I'm 43 years old and have a 02 GT just got it back in the summer but man did it bring me back. Pain in my ass though I'm always working on it. Lol.
Lucky !!!!... my first car ( '96) was a midnight blue (aftermarket paint) '84 hatch 3.8 v6 with CFI (automatic of course cuz CFI ...with an '84 GT front clip & and the '84 SVO bi-plane wing. When I had it I didn't know HOW unique it was (I Wish had That front clip & bi-plane wing now). I wanted a 5.0 SOOO bad back then.
This is awesome 🤙🏻
I can’t freaking wait to get our hands on this project!!!!!!
Can't wait to see what this turns into!!
I've got me a 93 & 04 GT. Bought the 04 new in 03. Love both cars. I full SLP exhaust on my 04. It's crazy loud and great sounding. I've got Mac long tubes & a Mac pro chamber with flowmaster outlaws on the 93. I feel like the switching my 93 to the pro chamber made it not nearly as loud as the X pipe I had previously on it. Do you find that common with the pro chamber?
It brings me joy knowing that the first time you and I talked, you were blasting Project Pat with the top down in the Harbor Freight parking lot. All the right vibes, haha!
LOL that is too cool, that vert just puts me a mood for some triple six 😂😂
Nice collection and good looking bird…..👍🏾
@@paulhammond3488onetime thanks man we appreciate it!!
What year mines a 86
@bobgan4434 it's an 86 also
If you wanna talk about cotter pins, brother, it is a defined procedure in aviation on how to secure them and how to arrange the tails. Hats off to ya for understanding why they matter!
Yessirrrr always been a pet peeve of mine LOL
Bro you don’t want to make 10k hp with a coyote motor, lol..😂😂 if you did it be a miracle, if it made more than one pull on the dyno lol..heck it takes a PROMOD MMR coyote motor to make around 5k rwhp ,but just think if you could make 10k hp with one ,you’d make a ton of cash selling them,or licensing the tech to other builders..
LOL bro the 10k hp was a sarcastic reference to everything on the internet has all the HP 😂
I hated those 2v 4.6 mod motors..I’d been a double master tech since 90’s ,and I’d been wrenching and racing since about 84..so those things always has issues with coils,& that little breather in the back that got plugged, too many ppl used to get their plugs cross threaded because they didn’t clean the dirt from around the heads before doing plugs..can’t tell you how many heads I’ve swapped out, but I got smart and started saving customers money ,or buying cars with so called bad heads, yet all it took was using a O2 sensor bug thread chaser tap, welded to a socket, and a welded extension because back in late 90’s their wasn’t a tool sold to just tap the heads without removing them, so dealers just sold customers either a engine or a head..so I’d buy cars with stripped heads for almost nothing ,spend less than a hr of my time, and flip it making 4-7k grand, so while I say I hate them, from a money making aspect they were great..that said there’s lots of other cars ,and engines that had known issues which if your a customers it’s extremely expensive to fix, but being a technician, and a good one, it’s just a few hrs of times, and a few hundred bucks..
