Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 leaving Des Moines on Friday morning after staying the day Thursday "on display". This is gaining speed going north out of the diamond west of "shortline road" the UP yard south of Dean Ave in Des Moines.

Though I may have doubted the guys on iboats the proof is in the puddin. Showing the results of using JB Water Weld to fill unwanted screw holes in the boat. The process goes like this 1. Use a countersink bit to put a flare in the top side of the hole. 2. Scuff the top and bottom side of the hole with sandpaper. 3. Clean both sides of the hole (I used brake clean) 4. Mix up a ball of JB Water ...
Spreading Gluvit

Babysitting and spreading Gluvit in a tape form to try and get the Brace plate to the hull side seams resealed.
Re-bucking Rivets

My girl running the bucking bar to try and tighten up some leaking rivets in the boat.
This whole thing just looks like rights that were completely depleted.
That gun range is rather gulagesque

The real waste is when they're open just to green light you across the scale. This guy was atleast sitting there paying attention doing his job.
I’ve been driving semis for forty years, mostly with hazmat, so maybe that’s why I’ve been done with ‘statutes’, ‘regulations’, and ‘laws’ for the last decade. I pass weigh stations, and if the L.E.O.s (“law” Enforcement Officers) chase me down, the first thing I tell them is I will get $500 cash in advance to interact with them, since after all, I am not being paid to help them do their job. And if they don’t agree, then I go sit in the ditch with the keys in the truck, and they can do whatever they need to do on their own (inspections, portable scales, whatever). When they are finished, they are free to litter the dash with their unsigned propaganda, which I will gladly pass along to the owner, but I’m not going to interject myself between them and an owner. Most of the time it works out for me, other times I walk off the job right there, but in either case, I am not, nor will I ever be, ‘legally’ liable for someone else’s equipment.

Yes babysitting the Gluvit sealed the bow. It may have been easier to just tip the bow down so it would pool where it needed to be but that would of left me with a huge blob there. That is what I wanted to avoid.

Since this was to seal the seam at the bow rise I was hoping that the tape would act as a form to hold the gluvit in place for long enough to seep down in the seam and not just run down into a puddle at the bottom. It was not as a reinforcement. In the end the seam got sealed but required some babysitting.

justin pereira1985 - sorry I missed your comment, at the link in the other comment there are pics of where to drill and tap the hole. Essentially it's right in the top center of the block as there isn't a factory boss in the block. I did have to shorten my tap as I went to get the hole completely threaded to the righr size. (ground it down) This is because the cylinder wall is close to the block.
I've heard other people suggest drilling in to the cylinder head water jacket.
Peter Jensen - theory was that in the top of the block any trapped air would be expelled. I don't know. The head would be easier to do though.

Thanks CBG, I've since changed out the nut for a bone nut and and am in the process of making a magnetic pup for it to replace the mic. hopefully I'll have it done soon and have a final video on it.
***** I don't know as changing the nut had much of an effect on the tone but I'm hoping it should wear longer than the original oak nut. I also say good luck on getting away from Google they seem to be everywhere now.
