I'm having a problem, when the first question done, the next question appear and i cant seem to click, i set hovered the button but when i hovered, it didnt trigger the hover and i cant click the answer button on 2nd question
Hm. Time to investigate. Did you make sure to check all the variables and see if they were turned off? Make sure to check all variables. I will be doing more vids soon. Tied up with regular work atm.
@@StellarGamingDev Thanks for replying me, i figured out but forgot to reply my own comment. It was because i didnt choose the button thing, i chose tilesprite instead so it didn't work
YOU ARE A LEGEND BRO I CAN FINALLY SAVE AND LOAD DATA AFTER 5 MONTHS I FIGURED IT OUT GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL
Thanks.
I am stuck on 'The number of scene variables QuestionSelect = 0" can't find that option at all and when I play the game the text won't update, not for the buttons not for the question either. Any help?
I'll look over it today and provide you an update soon. It's probably something simple I need to check into.
@@StellarGamingDev yeah so I did my own research in the meantime and tried all possible ways I’ve found with variables, I made it work. It became just ‘Change Variables QuestionSelected add 1’ or =0 depends on your preferences. But thanks for your reply
@@Vindepemarte No problem. Sorry for the late response to the previous question. I didn't get a notification there was a new comment from YT.
hello stellar, how to make scroll with mouse whell or scroll bar
When you are adding movements for your games in the event sheet in the conditions search bar type 'Mouse Wheel'. You should then see the following conditions: The mouse wheel is scrolling down. The mouse wheel is scrolling up. In the actions you can put: Simulate down key press. Now you can test and see if this works.
@@StellarGamingDev ok thanks
I dont understand it
What are you having problems with?
hello stellar, i tried make tower defend base game, and i use hero for attacking enemy. I use cardhero to choose a hero, and cardhero can be reloaded. The question is how do I spawn a cardhero into the deck and the hero will be spawned into the spawn place that I have prepared. thanks
@@kurangdanastudio I believe this game does something like that. I did this through variables. Each of those slots has its own variable named "Slot 1", "Slot 2", and "Slot 3" and they are booleans set to False and if one of the cards in the deck is selected it will be set to true. Each card also has its own variable too. In any case, I need to explain this one in a video tutorial. I still have this project file and I will look over it. Thanks for the comment! 🎮
This is so useful!, thank you for this tutorial mate ☺

@@StellarGamingDev Thanks bro i will! would you be interested in having a skin?
I was today years old when I found out you can change the colour of the comments. Very informative vid and easy to follow

Very Useful Thanks! 😊😊😊😊 i want to make a randomized quiz but i have a lot of data generated in a document is there any way i can link it in gdevolep? the document is like question answer wrong1 wrong2 what is.... answer wrong1 wrong2 i have to make the options also randomized
Hey there!! There might be some ways, but it might not be "easy". I can fiddle around and see if there's a simple way to do it, I intended to include a randomized set of questions in the tutorial video, but I thought it would be too much for a simple quiz. However, you could use a "random in range" value for the variable, which would select a random set of answers. It's not hard, just a bit tedious because you do the manual work. I might need to make a quick tutorial on randomization to demonstrate it. Another option, and easy to get started with is to feed the info to an LLM (like ChatGPT) and link it to GDevelop. I used to have ChatGPT Pro many months ago, and you could give it custom knowledge. However, it's not free ($20 a month); I was a subscriber at the time. It would handle all of that for you. The "hard" part is connecting the LLM to GDevelop, however, it is possible because I did it for a test game. There's a video on my channel where I tested something similar using a fortune teller game experiment. I really need to make a more indepth video on that but it's not exactly "beginner friendly" but I will try to do a tut very soon.
Thanks I will try
Thank you so much!! I didn't know how to fade but now I do! Keep up the tutorials!! :D
I'm happy I could help!!! Have fun making great games.
Hello can you please make a video on how to make the following system. I want to make a 2D top down multiplayer 1V1 game where you are in a map with just some grass and stones as objects that cannot move but how can I make it like clash royale that your screen is actually rotated the opposite of your enemy and that if your enemy moves to the left in his perspective, he moves to the right in your perspective and that every object that stands still is simply the same from every perspective. Thank you.
Hmmm.... interesting. I'll check and see if I can get something like this done in a future tutorial after I do a few others first. Thanks for the comment!
@@StellarGamingDev Thank you so much😄
after the new update the code no longer works for me, and is full of red strings! did the same thing happen to you?
Hey, For what specifically did you see the red strings? I haven't seen it yet. I had problems with something else earlier since I hadn't used 3D in GDevelop in a while and some of the old projects were going crazy. Thanks for your comment/question.
@@StellarGamingDev i opened the project this morning, end every line of code of variable was all RED! i had ti remake every variable! It took me the all day!😭 And i havent finished yet!
Hmm...That is strange. I did get the notice for an update but I'll try the game I was working on a little later and see if it is acting weird too.

Hello. Yes. Different voice from my last one, which sounded less enthusiastic. I originally started out with my regular voice but I didn't think I was easy to understand. Hopefully everyone can understand this voice better. Thanks for your comment!

@@abelplayz3825 Hey, 👋🏽 Where exactly are you having a problem with the project? What are you stuck on?

Cool way to do scrolling and it looks smooth! The "Drag Camera" extension is also pretty good for an alternative way of doing this using layers👍

@StellarGamingDev Hi! Thanks for the awesome and useful videos! I’d like to ask you to make a video on the following topic: "How can you make a game developed in GDevelop that acts as a Telegram bot? Specifically, how can the game identify the Telegram user who launched it and then record their data in Firebase? Additionally, could you explain how to integrate the Telegram API with the game? This would be a great topic for a TH-cam tutorial!" It would be really helpful to see a step-by-step guide on integrating GDevelop with Telegram and Firebase. Thanks!
Hello, very interested! Is it possible to have acces to this project? You dont show the whole part of the events, so its complicated to reproduce :( Thanks a lot, its really insightful, your idea is nice
Hello!! This is one of my older videos and I will be updating it shortly. I decided to leave it on but I will update it with better instructions and if needed access to the project files. I am working on another tutorial at the moment with character combo but will do the side scrolling one next and make it much easier to reproduce, so stay tuned it shouldn't take long. An update is on the way. ✨🤟🏽
Anyway, I found a solution based this example 🙂
Very Good!!!
Great! Hope it helps you make some cool screen bumpers of your own!!
i was wondering how you made your character, it looks really good
Hey! 👋🏾 Some of the characters I make are created in Blender and I just make the files into images if I want it 2D (I still like 2D type games). I learned about a program called M.U.G.E.N (many years ago when it first came out... nostalgia 🥲) and I used to make my character sprites from actual games by editing them, until I eventually started doing my own unique characters. Image editing, Key frames and that other "boring stuff." It's not super easy, but it's not too hard either...mostly just time consuming. I may do a tutorial explaining how it's done in the future. Blender is a good start for this though if you don't know. That little red guy was an idea I had planned for a game using GDevelop and I didn't really get a chance to bring that game to life due to complexity...but since I've learned a lot from the past and GDevelop is 3D and has an easier multiplayer now, I may need to revisit this game idea. It was supposed to be a 4 player battle game. Hope you have a great time making your own games!! 🎮✨
The sound is cool too
Awesome! Glad you think it sounds nice. I hope you'll make some cool sounds for your game characters too! 🦸🏾♀️✨
@@StellarGamingDev ty, working on this now =]
how to make UI layer?
Hey!! 👋🏾 In the video, you see where I have UI layer? There should be a button under the Background Color Layer (the last layer) that says "Add A Layer." Press that button and it will add a new layer and then you can name the layer "UI" or whatever you want for your game. Hope this helps.
how many scenes are we entitled to in the free version in gdevelop ?Sorry for my english.
Hello there!! 👋🏾 Your English is good! There is no limit to my knowledge. You can have as many scenes as you like for your new game. Good luck and happy gaming from the US!
@@StellarGamingDev Thank you so much!
Hello, thank you for your tutorial. I have a question. I created a panel that contains some buttons, text, etc. This panel will slide down from the top using a Tween animation. However, when I move the panel with the Tween animation, how can I keep the positions of the buttons and text relative to the panel unchanged? Since GDevelop doesn't have the concept of parent and child controls like other engines and you can't just move the panel, what is the correct way to achieve this? Can you help me? Thank you.
Hello! 👋🏾 If you want to keep the buttons and text relative, you can consider adding points to the panel. Where ever you want the specific button (s) to be, you can create points there and attach the buttons to them using a Create an object action, and the Stick behavior. For example, if you want a button to remain in a specific spot, put a point there in the object's property. Then in the actions, create an instance of that button on that particular point and use the Stick behavior. The button will be stuck to the panel and move wherever it moves, even if it is tweened.
@@StellarGamingDev Thank you for your answer. Stick behavior is very useful! Your video tutorials are excellent and practical, with many tips to learn from. I have already subscribed.👍
Perfect!! Glad you foundd it useful to give you ideas to make your own awesome games!! Good luck!
Very nice, can you come up with a detailed tutorial?
Yes, I can do some. I have been debating on it as I don't want things to get complex but I plan on going through and redoing all the older videos with updated tutorials that are a bit more detailed. 😀
The template can be downloaded in the description for you to play around with and destroy!

Hi JJ! really helpful! I'd like to know how it would work if the top bar (the top stopper) is in the middle of the screen. Like in a clicker game where the game itself is running in the top-half and the scrolling menu is in the bottom-half. How would you scroll it?
Thanks for commenting. You could do this by putting them on different layers in GDevelop or by combining it with object masking on different layers. I believe you can put the top half on one layer and the bottom half on another layer (a lower one) with its own blocker and prevent it from moving too far using the collision condition. That at least how I am visualizing it would allow the top layer to remain as is and the bottom layer to be scrolled. You can also set the opacity to the blocker to make not visible to the user. I haven't worked on this particular project recently but I'll take a look at it again if I get the chance soon.
Did it with the Z order of background sprites!! thanks and great video!
Really smart, thank you so much
I'm glad you found it useful and can perhaps enhance it for your next project. I will try to find other creative ways to do things and upload.
The interaction between the character's hits and the enemies' hurt animations is almost good. I wish you all the best for all of your games.
