Great info! I knew nothing about film forming humectants until I moved to a desert region with super low dew points. All of a sudden hair products were turning my hair to straw! It was awful. Now, I avoid humectants and use film forming humectants, especially for styling. I make my own flax gel specific to my hair type, and my hair is doing so much better. Another one that I like is methylcellulose.

Thank you! My best friend has a big big family 8 kids two adults and I want to make them these beanies for family photos! They love their braids and but didn't want a chunky knit hat to ruin their hair. (for fall photos) anyway thanks!
