180 SLIDES | E-MOUNTAINBOARD | E-GAMES OF D.I.R.T.

I had a lot of fun doing slides on gravel but it's very bad for the tires. You can also drift with acceleration which I did in the past but I found out that with full brake (locking wheels) it's easier to control and is more predictable than burn out drifting. The only thing is that you need more speed for 180 slides with locked wheels.

I want to show the differences in steering in this video. The Bro deck is very comfortable and feels good but it's hard to transfer the power for tight turns. Due to the wide deck and concave the toes are angled upward. On the Trampa deck I can grab the edge with my toes and put the pressure there for tight turns. super tight turn tip for toe side. imagine you are riding straight, now looking straight behind you, point 👉 both your arms/hands at the imaginary rider say 2-3 mitre away from you . this body position for small turning radius is amazing. may take a little time to get, but when it clicks.😁 keep looking ahead of you and where you want to be. let me know what you think

      sounds very interesting, definitely have to try it, thanks bro! I wonder if it helps for heelside turns as well... maybe at least for tighter 45° turns as you can't fully rotate the body to the rear.

    What number of ply for your deck ?

    • @rich-ks2gp
      @rich-ks2gp 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's the MBS DWII deck which is the stiffest deck I've ever had. Normally I use this board with 9inch tires for trail and off-road shredding only. For jumping I prefer the lighter board (haero bro deck, 8inch tires, small 12s5Ah lipos) but it was out of order that time.

    One factor in making a board more agile is also the ability for torsion in the deck itself. And that can be fine tuned by how the fibres are woven into the deck. A stiff deck typically has less torsion.

      Thanks mate! I recommend full brake instead of full throttle because it's much more predictable. It needs a bit more body work and speed but is safer. With full throttle the chances are high that you land on your ass. Put your weight on the front foot, fully brake and turn your body while shifting the rear leg to the side. It works best on short grass. I mean it works best on gravel but falling on grass is softer. You can do it!

    • @rich-ks2gp
      @rich-ks2gp 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have 2 mountainboards, one for riding and one lightweight for jumping. The haero deck was supposed to replace the Trampa deck for riding but it was too wide for my taste and I switched back to HolyPro deck.. My board for jumping had a MBS DWII deck (started with Trampa carver deck) but it was too stiff. I tried the haero bro deck on my jump board and instantly liked it so it's still my favourite deck for jumping. I use the MBS DWII deck now for my normal board for riding instead of Trampa. It's very stiff which I don't like but you have very good and direct control compared to Trampa. I miss the pop of Trampa decks which was very funny, maybe I'll built a lightweight Trampa skate park / flat land board one day.

But i am waiting for my mate to build his haero deck so i can test it to see if i like it before i build mine. if i want to learn jumps etc i will prob have to build a lightweight board as i feel my trampa is heavy with the current setup.

    • @rich-ks2gp
      @rich-ks2gp 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The second and third double at about 35km/h (22mph). I took a look at my logs from jumping the middle line with tables where I usually hit 30-34km/h (19-21mph) before take-off. This is the needed speed to clear the jump. Of course I started with lower speed in the beginning like 20km/h (13mph) to get a feeling. It is important to increase speed and height in small steps otherwise you get hurt and lose confidence. Jump tables only or everywhere where you don't need to clear a gap or the jump. And also only jump on days when you have a good feeling about it, if not just enjoy riding. One month after shooting this video I crashed quite hard on the last double and haven't ridden or jumped since then. My shoulder still hurts but hopefully I can jump again within the next weeks. Stay safe!

      @rich-ks2gp 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haven't tried it but good hint. Actually I use the Bro deck with Matrix II trucks for jumping only and like it. After some practice I learnt to steer different (more with knees and body) to get better results with the Bro. But in general it seems I need the overhang of toes and heels to make tight turns. For jumping it is an advantage and makes it more stable.
