So I spent 2.5 weeks in Oklahoma with my grampa in 2010. We had to go to a hotel because there was massive tornado outbreaks with several small ones spawning over different cities/areas. The text on the screen read much slower than this. To make it more realistic and immersive I would slow it down by a lot. Make it more even paced. Think about it- if you’re warning families you would want it to scroll even paced enough for them to see it. The text moving this fast would actually cost lives because it’s unrealistically fast. Keep in mind reading pace too, if this was an actual broadcast the slower readers would have a much harder time with the message.

When the radar image appears, the Suoercell thunderstorm most to the NW has already visited Tuscaloosa, drank 3 Crazy Buckets at Harry’s Bar, and is now heavily intoxicated and moving in the wrong direction. 6. The storm to the south on the radar has an overshooting anvil which is too heavy and now is causing the storm to fall forward into Shelby county. It’s now having Margaritas at Superior Grill. 7. Severe Thunderstorm with possible tornado entering Jefferson county, AL and no warning? Happens quite often. The NWS in Birmingham sometimes doesn’t issue a warning until train cars begin falling in downtown. 8. Storm moving from West Jefferson to Graysville to Fairfield and then Saginaw? Multiple Crazy Buckets ingested here. It was an extreme right-turner, left-turner, and then right-turner again. Took I-22 east to I-65 south to I-20 west to I-459 north and then I-65 south again. 9. Way out of hand? This is just an average day in central Alabama. However, James Spann has removed his jacket, suspenders, and is broadcasting only in his “Twister” boxer shorts, so this may be dangerous. 10. Oh no! Mountain Brook? Yes, it is a maelstrom of Mercedes, BMWs, and Volvos swirling around, causing extreme hazards on holes 11 to 18 at the country club. “Wrigley, hand me the five iron. Holy shit, to see Limestone County in this video surprised me. I live in Limestone County. Honestly, I really appreciate (and hate at the same time lol) that this video takes place in AL. We are in Tornado Alley, quite literally. We get tornadoes here all the time. Hell, a tornado touched down in Florence like two days ago. Like two weeks ago, the sirens went off SEVEN times in my area because tornadoes were happening all over the place. Sure, our tornadoes may ranfe from EF0 to EF2s, but I think honestly everyone forgets about the 2011 Birmingham tornado thst destroyed a bunch of shit. Pretty sure there was bad one in 2014 as well, but I don't remember.

The ef scale goes by damage left behind. Meteorologists will never use the ef scale when broadcasting a live tornado because they don’t know the damage report. They will most likely say either say “a small quick spin up tornado touched down” “a large and possibly dangerous” Or “A PDS warned tornado is on the ground” or the worst “this is a tornado emergency” which means anything above ground will be destroyed and seek shelter under ground. After it has passed they inspect Trees and what is left of homes and surrounding structure to determine the EF rating. A radar indicated debris ball within the area of rotation is also what the national weather service looks for to determine the kind of warning.tornado warning, PDS tornado warning, and tornado emergency, Due to immediate damage reports and how high the debris is in the atmosphere. Cool video though. An ef8 would rip above ground shelters out of concrete and pull the doors off of below ground shelters and maybe expose the top exterior of the below ground shelter due to the amount of dirt it would be removing from the ground. Wild to even think about.

I always find it silly thay tornado scales in the enhanced system depends on structural damage. So if an insanely monstrous tornado just happens to swirls around fields and stuff and another one much less powerful goes to populated areas, the latter gets rated higher? And, if two indentical powerful tornados hit a field and a populated area, only the latter gets rated hiher.

Just saw what looks the 1979 Wichita Falls tornado. Bad news for us. Over 40 dead, F-4 strength, Terrible Tuesday was NOT a good day.

Anything over an EF6 is mythical. If there was an EF8, there would be 100 feet deep trenches from where the tornado path was. People from a mile away would be sucked out of there windows and tossed across the county they live in, planes above the storm would be sucked into the ground and explode on impact. It would be like the end of the world.
