Walking around Lake Braies - Pragser Wildsee - Lago di Braies
Pragser Wildsee (German) or Lago di Braies (Italian) is said to be the most beautiful lake in the Dolomites. The lake circumference can be walked in a loop in a few hours on a relaxed pace, and there are tables and benches available around for a picnic.
To get to the lake, there is a two-way shuttle bus from the Dobbiaco bus station that goes to the lake regularly. During the peak season the shuttle requires reservations but it was still first come first served when we were there.
The lake was really beautiful, and there are no wrong angles for photos. The hike was not difficult at all, with only one or two ascending sections with most of the trail near the edge of the lake.

After one week I find myself back in Mt. Ayaas with the second group of students in our class. The participants in this group are slightly better prepared (more rest more food) and we were able to complete the hike earlier than the previous week. The weather was also slightly better with no rains.

Here we walk through two of the many trails in Taroko National Park in Hualien, Taiwan. The Xiaozhuilu is a short trail (approx. 1 kilometer) and starts right from the bus station near the Visitor Center, and connects to the Shakadang trail (approx. 4 kilometers), making for a long half day in the Taroko Gorge.
