A lot of these post tension jobs no one took into consideration on when they go bad because the buildings are on beachside and the constant salt getting behind the peeling caulk or deck coatings going bad flaking up from buildings not keeping up with proper maintenance and the on top of it the hand rails they have to drill and anchor into the slab edges right where the heads and burst bars are…. We have a job where there is two banded sets going over a column a set of 3 and a set of 4… the concrete is totally split in half horizontally all the way back to the column. The column is 5’ in from the south store front wall, and 7’ in from the east slab edge of the cantilever balcony. Now we have to lock these cables off but the concrete is bad all the way to the column. On the other side of the column the banded sets are so tight together touching there’s no way to lock them off to detension the cables on the south edge. When making banded sets over columns when they all come together. They need to keep atleast a minimum of an inch apart atleast up to 10’ back then they can join together. The idea of post tension is really cool. But horrible horrible design flaws for later fixing the buildings when doing concrete restoration. This building they already had to condemn the 6 story parking garage because of punch sheet issues. And the same person that designed this building did another local and same issues. They had to make huge pads on the columns to shorten the span between columns and add so much more rebar. This design with post tension maybe inland middle states with no ocean air great. But along beachside condos no way If you would like to see pictures of what’s going on here I’d be happy to send your way to get a better picture of what I’m talking about and how we have to deal with stuff like this. We can’t just ping the cables because it’s a building full of people 12 stories and we are working on the 7th and 8th floors and damage is the same both floors. When we open more up we know it’s going to be every floor same issues all the way up. We can’t kick people out units to ping the banded sets because we can’t lock them off because they all dive in together touching and shure up the entire run to the other side of the buildings having all those cables dead. When doing post tension these types of issues really need to be considered when building these buildings.

that must be the pipe which is typically used for air injection into the duct in order to make sure that the duct is clear of possible obstructions and later the grout could be injected into the duct to make the strands bounded to the duct.
