Its hard to say. If you have completely never ridden anything before or used a clutch you definitely don't want a YZ 250. If you have ridden somewhat, like at least a wheeler you might be okay. For your size and weight its the right physical size of a bike. If you are a quick learner then it might also be okay but if you dont have throttle control it could get ugly fast.

Trust me man, I’ve been working for the last couple years to improve my riding and work towards moving up 2 B. I have yet to win a heat race but do position well, these last two indoor races I’ve won the mains. It looks like I’m just whooping on everyone but if I break a couple things down to explain, I’m really not. Basically I just get really good starts indoors, idk why, which then gets me just In front of the first corner cluster which gets me the little stretch of a lead. But if you notice I’m then just consistently then same distance in the lead for the whole race. When comparing lap times after the race I’m actually running the same lap times as the top 5 guys or so, just the good jump in the beginning is giving me the advantage. I also feel comfortable riding indoors and usually do better. When we go to outdoors I just can’t make the same results happen and idk what my issue is but I’m working on improving that as well. I feel like I’m right at that borderline mark to move up. I also race plus 25 which is mainly b and c guys. I haven’t been able to beat the b guys in that class yet but not getting beat to badly. I’m also watching the b class lap times trying to compare. Trust me I’m not out to be the C class hero haha since I finally just started showing good results in the last like 6 years of racing but I am paying attention and trying to figure out my next step. Thanks for not being ignorant tho man, people usually try and hate on anyone doing good.

@@joecollins3886 I feel that are you on a 250 Or 450 and some people like me and you have a natural gift to launch a bike I can pull a hole shot all day but if it’s a rutted rough track I’m back to 3rd in 4-5 corners outdoors indoors is all about the start especially at switchback I feel a 250’suited switch back better I rode there a lot last year a 450 in doors was hard to get through the corners

@@shrimpshow5458 yeah man exactly! Passing is hard in there, within reason. I’m on a 450 and my starts indoors are great but outdoors my starts suck! The last indoor race of the season tho I got an okay start but battled to finish in like 4th or 5th, not a great 1st like this video.

Jeremy Turek Thanks! He is 7. We just upgraded him to one of my 110 pitbikes. It’s a 4 speed with a clutch and he is loving that thing. We’ve had him out on the one track we ride on that thing and he is doing awesome, can’t man handle it like the 50 but is pretty decent!

enduroISamazing Thanks man it was a blast yesterday! The corners coulda been tackier but it was fun. That was my brother in laws idea haha he loved it, he kept laying in between the different jumps while we were going around the track. Then my nephew started doing it to, they were having a blast

enduroISamazing we will keep our fingers crossed lol. He has crazy bike control for a little guy. He is super shy and timid to ride in front of anyone besides his mom and dad. Loves going to the races with me and watching all the other little guys and I know he would do awesome but gets too shy and won’t ride. Last week is the first time he has finally wanted to ride in front of me or with me so I fixed the pitters up and finally loves it it’s super cool. Maybe it will be enough to get him racing this summer if we have any races!

Yeah he definitely will once hey can get through this shy thing. I know all the tracks and circuits are closed. It sucks. We just got permission to rip this private track by our houses and it’s sweet!

MotoTony27 I’m good man just got the wind knocked outa me. Absolutely man! I’ll check it out once you make it. I’ll have another video uploaded in a couple days of riding pitters with my nephew and we had a few small wipeouts, he had a decent one. MotoTony27 I never saw your reply until now. The video I uploaded called Mad Man Mattix Brown has those couple wipeouts in it. There’s is like 4 or 5 and I put them all at the end of the video. Nothing crazy buts it’s some footage if you can use it.

Nikolaus Pierce Oh cool man! This layout is super fun. Our group of guys will probably be there every weekend or so for awhile so maybe we will see you. On the 450 I’m in second, I have the front sprocket geared down to a 12t. My buddy on the CRF250 is a lot lighter than me and hit it on my 450 in 1st. On our 250s were either in 3rd or rev limiter in second to clear it lol.

Oh cool I’m from North East. We had to miss out on today but will be at the February and March race. I’m gonna be racing at the supercross futures event in Massachusetts in April so I will need to get some more seat time before then. Enjoy the race today if you went!

seems like a good place to ride, i’m more of a beginner rider looking to get into mx but i’m not sure how comfortable i would feel around all the seasoned riders

Jared Grim if you go on the practice days, they will send you out in the skill level groups. If there’s only a few people they will run an open practice but they will usually separate to at least a c class and sometimes a D class of there’s enough guys. If you go and are put with more skilled guys just remember to pick you line and hold it and you won’t have any issues. If you start jumping across the track, that’s when you run the risk of getting hit by someone. I’m you hold your line, the faster guys will pick it up and hold there line. It’s definitely a great place to pickup practice time in the winter but it is technical and a lot less forgiving then riding an outdoor track. There is just a lot less room for error with it being so tight.

Robert Wheaton Oh nice! They did it a couple times last year around this time. They had races at the fair this past Wednesday but hopefully do it a couple more times before summer ends like last year. It was a good time.

But I’ll be getting some more riding in the end of this summer. Me and the wife bought a house in June so I haven’t been able to race yet this summer

enduroISamazing ohh I gotcha lol. Do you live in PA too then? The harescrambles and cross country races my buddies do are all in Ohio. The one this weekend is by Akron we’re going to. I have the 450 geared for the outdoor tracks so it’s kinda a pain in the woods, but I think if I just gear it down for the woods and run a gear tall on the motocross part of the race it would be a good bike for it. It wears me out a lot faster in the woods tho that’s forsure.

enduroISamazing its definitely a handful let me tell you lol. A stock 450 is a lot, this thing being built a little is a freaking animal! That front fender definitely make that 250 look so much better lol!

enduroISamazing Yes, I’m actually putting new tires on the 06 as we speak and the last indoor race is this Saturday and I’m going to race both bikes. Then I’ll be at the supercross race in another two weeks with both bikes as well!

It took me some tries with this new camera to get the proper settings to shoot indoors and I have slow internet so I had to bring the quality down a little as well but it’s so much smoother than my old GoPro. Also this was only against one other guy lol but I still had a blast!

I might be doing a valve check and some too end gaskets soon but I don’t think I’ll have to take mine all the way down. I’m waiting to hear back from a guy I sold another 06 to, he was going to have me do full tear down and freshen it up at some point this winter. I will try to keep you as posted as I can with that. RealtreeDeerHunter 21 lol yeah he did. I felt bad for it but I knew it was gonna happen. He was doing that all practice too.

Moto Media It is a blast there. If your going for practice I would recommend being he early bird there at 11. People start to pack in around 12 or so so the practices can get crowded sometimes but they will regulate it really well. They won’t let more than 20 bikes out in a class at once for safety and so they can get good enjoying riding in. The track is prepped really good, it’s all hard packed. They changed the set up inside just a little from this video. We races there this past Saturday, I have go pro footage from there I will have up in a day or so if you want to check that out before you go. I would recommend going tho.

Moto Media Absolutely no problem! I’m normally there every Sunday but can’t make it this weekend. The track set up now is a lot smoother and you can get a nice Rhythm through it. If you go, you guys will definitely have a blast!

No it’s not haha. Yes I have an 08 skidoo MXZ 800 Renegade. My wife’s whole family has them and most of my friends as well. We are surrounded by trails where we live.

enduroISamazing lol cleared not cased, I woulda probably wrecked if I cased that lol. Yeah man I did two practice session first trying to feel it out because the power is ridiculous compared to the 250 and the 250 rips pretty good. But jumping this thing was so effortless, I never came out of first gear once. It’s geared high for the outdoors so I’m going to drop the front sprocket down to a 13t, it has a 15t on it right now. That should help me grab another gear and be a littler smoother next time. But seriously, barely any throttle in first gear and you’ve cleared it haha! It’s insane!

Now that i think about it cased does mean you would of crashed lol. yea i never rode a 450 before its best i don't i'd probably die haha! your good on it though lol. i'm hoping next year the local enduro will be up and running again i'd like to run it

enduroISamazing yeah lol. I’ve rode them before but never a modded one like this. I definitely feel more comfortable on it I need to just get a little more seat time and get used to the power it has before I try and charge hard with it. I would definitely use my 250 if I did enduro that’s for sure lol. We don’t have any of those races around here but we have harescrambles and MotoXcountry races that I’m sure are somewhat similar but idk. Have you done the enduro before or just want to try it?

@@joecollins3886 yep i love it lol i've raced a 125 and a 250 already in a couple i just don't do it like a did before cause i had to travel, where as this enduro is local near my house and its a 6 hr enduro, the day i hit 16 teen was the same year they didn't hold it, made me mad lol. now i'm hoping this coming year it'll be back. i never rode on a motocross track before seems like it would be fun though

I will have his 250f, my 250f, and another 2 yz250fs tore down in my basement this winter getting ready for next year so watch for that 👍🏻. Also trying to get the new 2019 YZ450F within the next couple months as well.

Well I will have to make a good video on one of the bikes full rear down and rebuild for you to check out then! I have some good cameras I can use for that when the time comes. Yes I hope it is crazy fast haha. I want to race motocross with that and do woods racing with the 250. Also, I’m signing up to race the amateur supercross in Indianapolis this March so I’ll have a good video from there as well

I will definitely do that on the 06 then and probably the 2014 as well. I’m definitely hoping the 450 will make it a lot easier haha but I’ll take the 250 as well.

enduroISamazing Thank you. You should see how it currently looks now! The fender is for latest model Yz250f’s. I forget what year they switched them but it’s still the same fender for the 2019 models. I bought that one from Cycra. It was a direct bolt on.

enduroISamazing Definitely get it, it helps so much in making the bike look a lot newer! Idk if you saw my kickstart lever but no one makes a tricked out one for the bike, but I ordered one from hammerhead for a 2010 Yz250f and it was a perfect fit, just an FYI
