You're so Welcome! thanks for watching.
I cannot thank you enough for this video. I have had back pain for 7 years. I have seen many drs, physiotherapists, chiropractors, pain therapists, injections and so on . Nothing worked. Seen different drs in different countries, most of told me I need a fusion but I was scared to go for that big surgery and I am so happy I didn't. I decided to buy this bench and work with that. After 2 weeks I feel much better. I get up and sit down quicker now. I feel happy and I am hopefull. God bless you. I wish you good health and best of luck. Keep up the good work ❤❤
Thank you for the kind words! I am glad my video helped you. Best of luck to you with your health journey. Take it one day at a time. The main thing is to keep trying.
@@UpperExtremityEngineers I will do. I have hope now. Thank you. God bless you❤️
Good stuff. This is my life on and off (mostly on) as well since I was a kid w mild scoliosis. I've left my forties now and learning this stuff the past 2 years has been huge. BUT... You credited McGill here in the video but disappointed you did NOT credit Brendan at Low Back Ability. It's pretty clear that's what the origin of the BX info/movements you're presenting here. It's awesome and helpful info that NEEDS to get out there...but credit where credit's due. Cheers.
I credited him in my pinned comment. Thanks for watching
Superb video, thanks man
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching
5:13 hi. if you don't mind saying, what kind of place is that - that room, bldg - is it a community center, the basement of a church, or something similar? thanks.
My glutes get too tight doing the back extension
You did the McGill side plank wrong. This can also help but is difficult for people with backpain. The McGill version is with the knees on the floor and you thrust outwards with your hips.
“And sometimes, playing with mayonnaise!” 😂
This advice is solid. Recently got sciatica. Drive Uber and sit a ton. I knew I was wrecking myself even though I go to the gym primarily for upper body. I get maybe 1700 steps a day and I stopped my core workouts for some unknown reason. So… steps and core will take center stage till I get back my legs and stability
Thanks for watching! Yes, taking many short walks a day is a great way to get the back and body feeling better. (Especially outside) best of luck to you!
Nice summary! Thanks for sharing! Took me 1 year of pain to figure out half of your points myself😂
Pain can be a powerful teacher! Best of luck to you.
if like most you are one of the faithful to a false religion known as scientism, there would be no point in explaining.
My 15 years pc chronic back and hip pain was fixed by... consuming more protein and getting more Vitamin D.
Thats awesome to hear! I am a firm believer that our bodies have the power to heal themselves when given the right circumstances and environment. How did you figure this out for your body? thanks for watching.
Been having low back paim n sciatica for 6 months. I've tried everything. I'll try this n ddp yoga next. How will my brain stop sending pain signals??
Its not really that you are stopping sending pain signals. Its that you are flooding your brain with movements and sensations that do not hurt. that's why it's not a one size fits all. What hurts me might help you and vice versa. I would recommend you slowly and carefully try some different movement patterns and see what your body responds well to.
Been having chronic low back pain. Many different diagnosis. N nothing g helps but fear of pain is worse than then pain itself. I'm pushing forward it's hard n slow. The pain down the leg dont help.
Brother I will do all of these, thank you. I have a question, when doing the McGill Big 3 and bracing, should you breathe during the bracing or take a big breath in, brace and hold your breath?
Thanks for watching and I am glad it was helpful. At first, it may help you to hold your breath a little bit. But with practice, you will get to the point where you can create intra abdominal pressure while still breathing. Remember, the goal is not to create as much pressure as possible (unless you are power lifting). The goal is to tune the bracing to the task you are doing. That means just enough pressure to stabilize the spine and remove the pain. Hope that helps.
I’m 6 foot 5 inches. Will the back extension machine you were using adjust for a person of my height?
It might not be perfect but it will work. I’m 6 foot 3
thank you
Opinions on couch stretch?
Dont have much of an opinion on it. If you find it helpful then do it. Thanks for watching.
The internet is NOT the problem. There is no fighting back either. The problem is a lack of self-control, maturity, intelligence and wisdom. People need to take responsibility for themselves and stop blaming the internet, etc. Even before technology grew to such high levels of use, back in the 50's, 60's, or 70's, people had different forms of addiction that were destroying their brains. From drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, gang violence, etc. The reason why I say there's no fighting back is because in the end it's up to the individual to make the necessary changes to improve their addictions or senseless lifestyle. As a relationship coach I can give advice until I'm blue in the face, however, one can easily ignore me and you in one millisecond. Nobody's brain is being destroyed here. What's being destroyed is natural human to human interaction which now more than ever only exists on a thread for most people who stay plugged in online for far too long, far too many times. Just as I can run someone over with my car, or threaten someone with a kitchen knife, the tools are not the problem. The problem is everyone is out for themselves and ignoring the bigger picture. We are all being divided and manipulated one way or another. That's why I reach out to people and at least give them some advice such as what I'm doing here. Take it or leave it, but don't start blaming me or wanting to argue over it either because then you'll be part of the very problem you're complaining about. Much love to those who get it. I hope for those who don't, they'll stop blaming everything and everyone other than themselves and start fixing their addictions and social issues. Class dismissed. Don't forget your homework is due on Monday.
Great compilation of weight free exercises! Thank you.
Hope it was helpful!
does tailbone pain count as back pain?
is it beneficial for disc bulge too..??
Its not a one size fits all. some of the info in this video could definitely help you. I would recommend that you carefully experiment with different movements. Listen to your body. Thanks for watching.
Looks pretty legit I'll be glad if you can spare me some time and list the exercises along with the time stamp in the video number os series/time/reps and overall duration the whole practice thanks in advance.
Thanks for sharing.
You bet
the cause remains and will make itself evident sooner or later.
interesting comment. Im open minded and am always learning. Why dont you share what will remove the cause?
How u get thatt low bac machine bro how much 4 it
Can u recommend Any supplements
Back extension for disc hernia is good way to wheelchair...
this video is about far more than just a back extension. Its also not a one size fits all approach.
@@UpperExtremityEngineers if you read back mechanic back extension is in the group of ' silly strech ' just stiffnes and core power.. mcgill big 3 and stir the pot + daily walk... Anything else is bulshit when you are in pain...
@@toncipopovic5262 Beware of anybody who claims that they know it all. Spoiler alert. no one does. Im open minded, and know for a fact the back extension has helped me when I am in pain.
Will this help facet joint pain? I have a lot of stiffness in back too… will the back extension help? Pt and doctors honestly don’t know what’s going on.
I would say it would be worth a try for sure. I probably wouldnt buy one without trying it out for yourself first. Most public gyms have one. You could try them out there first.
No One's Coming to Save You. Or as I put it - The Cavalry isn't coming to save me. I spent years in self-pity. Eventually I recognised that what I (unconsciously) was waiting for was help/understanding from others. I realised the delusion of it. My unconscious expectations were contributing to the depression. Accepting the premise that No One Cares has helped me. It is counter-intuitive. It has lifted my burden of expectations, and therefore I no longer feel continually disappointed. Depression lures us into hiding away like a wounded animal. I thought it would be healing to do that - but ended up with a Vit D deficiency and an underactive thyroid. Thus 'obeying' the depressive urge is just accommodating the depression and the conditions it needs to fester further. That's how the bugger eventually tips us over the edge and we end up opting for the 'exit invisible'. Get out into nature when It's hammering it down with rain. No hats. Get drenched. And take the vestiges of your tattered sense of humour with you.
well said. thanks for watching.
Thank you Guru(Sir) loving your encouragement
glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching!
I've had over 40 years of depression/suicidal ideation. I tried various therapies/retreats, medications, diets. Last November in desperation I tried the carnivore diet (after over 25 years of vegetarian/pescatarian). I gained very springy knees - and the ability to clear my thoughts. Sometimes I can feel the 'depression' in my body, but now I can stop my thinking from matching what I feel physically. I'm now 10 months without the debilitating ideation. It's like a bloody miracle. I agree completely about avoiding screen time. Boredom is our friend in disguise. If you can ween yourself into it and learn not to resist it - you will find that peace is on the other side of it. Stillness and silence (especially in nature) is very healing. Good luck, all!
Amazing story! Thanks for sharing and for watching. It is quite amazing how strong an impact nutrition can have on mental health. I think improving your sleep by shooting for 7-8 hours and having a consistent bedtime/waketime is also very helpful.

Thanks for watching! If you have back pain, check these 2 videos out where I give you the knowledge I have accumulated from dealing with 15 years of chronic lower back pain. th-cam.com/video/1x4wGGVRbWI/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/-u7F61PyRuY/w-d-xo.html
Great information! Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
I have scoliosis and was a D1 hooper. I lost my scholarship because of scoliosis. I was not medically cleared. Now I still hoop at 39 but lately my right hip/groin/hip flexor area is horrible. I wonder if this machine will help.
Thanks for watching. I think the exercises in this video can help you if done correctly but they are not specific enough to your hip problems. I would look for some exercises that allow you to lightly use your hip flexors/groin in a slow and controlled way. Then you need to grade the activity up if its too easy or grade it down if it is painful. An example would be doing leg lifts. This directly uses your hip flexors and can easily be graded up or down. Good luck to you.
@@UpperExtremityEngineers For example if I step flat footed or too hard I feel that pinch. If I foam roll it helps temporarly. But say lifting my leg to get into a SUV or truck its a hell of a pinch man ! Thanks for this video! Ever need some designs done hit me up I gotch you! I design everything Lol. Literally.
This is the best video in the history of TH-cam about lower back pain. Millions of people can take solved pain problems with this method.
Thanks for Watching! Glad you enjoyed. I've tried a lot of stuff and these are the exercises I find myself returning to time and time again.
9 years ago I fractured my L1 vertebrae in a mtn bike crash & was in constant pain for 7 yrs until I purchased a hyper extension machine on Amazon, within a few months my pain got less and less, now I’m pain free & my posterior chain is super strong. I do 4 sets of 10 reps twice a week, best pc of equipment In my gym. Therapist’s only suggested stretching, not strengthening which I didn’t agree with so I figured it out on my own, great vid & solid advice!
Atta Boy! Love to see people who can think for themselves. Great work.
Lowbackability also greatly attributes back healing to the back extension machine. I'm glad to see this common ground in other content creators and authors. The old mentality of stretching the affected area into oblivion clearly can only go so far until it feels like stretching a worn rubber band. The idea of building your own back brace really changed how i approached my injuries without feeling hopeless.
Great lower back recovery & recurring maintenance routines - thanks for sharing the detailed tips.
In addition to diet (IF, gluten avoidance) and mobility/body weight training, planks and side planks helped me strengthen and heal my core fascia.
And your but muscles! - do clam exercises! -
Good advice.
