Sir I have a few questions - Did buddha do no job except search for inner self , meditation, Nirvana ... And other things ? If he didn't do such things than did his followers do them ? I am asking such things because a thought came into my mind that if all the people start following buddhas path and teachings than wouldn't world become a much much better place for all humans and Even other creatures, but also if that happens How will the human society develop I mean if everyone gets busy in following buddhas path than- Who will sow the seeds ? Who will build shelter to live ? Who will make clothes to wear ? Does becoming a buddha's follower only means to leave material desires and just meditate Is that what he taught ? Can't we use them just for personal growth?

I am also asking this question because I am a student and I have found that after reading even the first few pages of any spritual book I completely change ( it doesn't take me years ,weeks or even months ) I start to feel the bliss of happiness and very broad scene of clarity which is very important factor determining my overall daily productivity Such things helps me to live in present and I feel increase of the participation of my brain in whatever I do , so- I wanted to learn more on mindfulness and meditational practices to become mentally strong That is why I wanted to know more about buddha and his teachings, to feel the experience always and increase my productivity, Is it the right way to look at it ?? If yes than can you please elaborate me on What more principles/ teachings of methods of buddha can help me , since I am a novice I don't know much apart from the 8 fold paths as taught in school ( I was inspired by it ) and the concept of Nirvana freedom from material desires (which I honestly don't have any interest in at present ) Or books which particularly take buddhas teachings or thoughts to grow in today's world,

Yes Amrita ji Old Path is a great book. For Dhammapada I referred to The Dhammapada by Eknath Eswaran and found it very helpful.

From my limited understanding, Buddha said that Gods do exist in higher realms - yes you can call them as postive energies - but they are also impermament. In this samsara, everything is impermanent. Buddha refuted the idea of a permanent creator God which has created this world.

It includes things like adultery, rape, incestual relationship, having sexual relations with a person who is under a guardian (e.g. a child) or someone prohibited by convention (like a monk or a nun) or against the laws of the land.
