Nečas speaks with such typical Czech hockey player dialect. He has none of the accent of his home region and he sounds exactly like the hockey kid from my town that I lectured maths in high school. Other side of the country. Almost all of the national league player interviews sound like that as well. Mouth slightly open, entire long sentences done in one long exhale, words sort of slurred and pauses replaced by the neutral "aaaaah" sound. If someone talks this way, you ask them what team they play for.

@Per Capita Absolutely rotten and failing youth hockey system. Nepotism, ice time dictated by parent sponsorship, kids groomed into thinking they're owed a chance in North America. It all needs to be burned to the ground before reinventing itself.
This shows us what makes hockey so great. The players come from so many diverse cultures and languages-- but all make peace off the ice. Well Done.

woop. tried to fix a problem and made another one. the video was originally titled ”european canes” but i got so many conflicting opinions on whether russia is or isn’t in europe i changed the title to non-north american. i’ll have to think about it again, i certainly didn’t mean to disrespect or exclude anyone. i don’t know what he considers his nationality to be but you’re right, from my understanding he speaks Cree too.
