@abrooke03 the news you were told seems far fetched. In another video of this same performance (angle wise) Joy looks happy and fascinated standing next to Taylor. It does seem like you are trying to instigate something. TCW, with their sort of indie cred, would definitely not sing with Taylor if they didnt want to. This is their concert too, they couldve not invited her. Its not like this performance was made to promote Hunger Games. Its not a viral video. Only 40,000 views.

@netterstyl A lower key would not fit the song. She could work on her timbre to get rid of the break btwn registers, but the song should be in this key bc emotionally, it's supposed to transition between being intense and soft. Taylor's technique may not be perfect but she does a great job at capturing beauty & raw emotion. It isn't an easy song but she is able to hold a soft & pleasant tone. She's on-key & holds notes beautifully that I didn't know she could execute. Great songwriting as well.

I think it's funny that I met the person that fitted The Civil Wars for their outfits for this and the music video, and The Civil Wars absolutely did NOT want to do this song with Taylor Swift. They said they were being forced, and Taylor was paying for EVERYTHING. I guess you really do get whatever you want when you have money...

and another thing, the civil wars are amazing too. I'm sure that due to the popularity of this song, they gained a fan or two(million or more.lol). John is such a calm yet talented guitarist and Joy is a great singer. I love how they harmonize, To be honest, a big reason why this song is so gorgeous is because of the harmonizing, it makes the song a billion times more... eery and somehow soothing

I mean, her country songs are good too, im a big fan, but they make her sound "ok", songs like this bring out her voice! I don't know about broadway(yet), but Taylor, if you're reading this... She's improved her live voice a lot, she used to sound absolutely awful and flat and nasally. But it's better now. Good job Taylor.

I'm admittedly not much of a fan of Taylor Swift. Or The Civil Wars for that matter (I see the talent, but the woman looks too smug for my liking). BUT, this is really lovely, I do like it a lot.
