    I wanted to ask you a question. During a mesocycle dedicated to improving power for the vertical jump what progression pattern should be used, for example if I am doing a squat at 50% of 1RM for 5 reps the next week how should I progress? On the other hand, in exercises such as the Jump box, if I did 5 reps with the box one meter high the next week, how do I progress? PS:I respect you

    • @DunkFast
      @DunkFast 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey there! Great question on progressing your vertical jump training. Here’s a quick guide: For Squats: If you’re starting with 50% of your 1RM for 5 reps, consider increasing the weight by 2.5% to 5% or adding 1-2 reps each week. This gradual increase will help you build strength without overdoing it. For Jump Box Exercises: Instead of just increasing the height, add variations like rotational or lateral jumps to challenge different muscles and improve agility. You could also progressively increase the box height but do it gradually, ensuring you’re comfortable and maintaining good form with each increase.

    Matthew 13:18-23 18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. 19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. 20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. 22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. 23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

    • @DunkFast
      @DunkFast ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! Dunking involves a lot more than just height. Factors like vertical jump, overall fitness, timing, and technique play a crucial role. At 6'3, you definitely have a height advantage. With dedicated practice focusing on your jump, strength training, and honing your dunking technique, you'll get there soon enough. Remember, it's about making the right decisions in your training and consistently working towards your goal. Keep at it, and you'll be dunking before you know it!

    • @edwardgrenore126
      @edwardgrenore126 ปีที่แล้ว

      If only 1 then I must say penultimate step, it is literally the key to jump higher almost instantly for anyone. Even a person without training can get 20 inches vertical if they just jump with the right technique that can transfer horizontal momentum upward, rather than jumping with random movements all over the place, end up countering their own momentum. But other than that, all the factors come very close, you can't jump high with just one, if penultimate step is a 10 then all the other factors are 9.
