I remember a couple years ago, i think it was just before la resistance but i cant remember, they said they would optimize the game and make it run so much smoother and all the youtubers and streamers celebrated it and paradox was showing charts of game performance before and after and i was really hyped up but then it just ends up making the game performance worse. Idk how that even happened.

i personaly cant reameber the last time i have played vanilla hoi4 i have been playing only like darkesthour or kaiserredux. I HAVE THE FUCKING SUBSCRIPTION TO GET THE DLC S AND HAVE NOT PLAYED ONCE A SOUTH AMERICAN NATION. but the modders are really carrying the game.

I remember when BBA launched that everyone (me included) complained about the peace conference. Stealing ships should be base game so I could turn that DLC off

i have spent 99% of my time on community servers since i started playing in 2011 and have seen like 3 bots

The bot crisis was only solved due to deadlocks announcement and release to the wider masses, valve didn't want to receive bad publicity from the media regarding tf2 and potentially affecting Deadlock. Our player base is lower than it actually is according to steam charts, watch zesty jesus' 2 part videos on thr bots and you will understand better. We probably only have around 30k human players on average, maybe more on a Friday/Saturday. We dont need 10 community maps every update, we only used to really receive 2-3 per update, they were within tf2's art style and play tested well, most of which now are not, or they try too hard to fit in. Hadal is terribly designed Embargo is too colorful for TF2s original aesthetic, when you compare it to dustbowl, 2fort, etc. Map bloat affects our newer players the most as they have more maps to learn and may get decision paralysis from so many maps to choose from. Let alone the intricacies of how to play each class in said maps. Plus Valve didnt care to revert the f2p non communication change to stop bot spam, thus forces f2ps to spend in the mann co store, earning valve more profit. CS2 has a terrible cheating problem as well, has yet to receive a recent operation (to my knowledge) and still hasnt had all of the original maps of csgo added to the map pool. Both tf2 and cs2 are essentially video game slot machines, long as valve keeps the power on with servers they earn profit without any real "maintenance", which js a real shame but if people keep spending money then Valve will never change. I have spent countless hours on this game and i really do love it, but the neglect is sad to see, but as the saying goes "All good things must come to an end".

Something to note, with the player count, is that the "players" are not always what they seem, because at least 75 percent of them are bots, and while like you said the bot crisis has been solved (for now) the bots that were shut down were CHEATING bots, but there are other kinds of bots that exist, such as the idle bots, ones that exist to get free drops and there are thousands of those kinds, so the crazy high player count is likely just those bots, sure the cheating issue is fixed, and that might have attracted new, or old players to the game, but valve will probably have trouble defeating the idle bots

Good vid! Important to note that if you are trying to get people into tf2 remember that you should try to be there to guide them. There are tonnes of nuances that define characters that can be completely missed by new players.
