    That has been me. The first time, I couldn't pick up the phone 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️. When I needed someone, they prioritized their feelings over communicating boundaries. Didn't even ask my side of the story. Needing something definitely tests the health of your relationship. So clarifying. Also, attachment to helping can be codependent leaning. A healing opportunity there.

    or its just a simple culture difference. Here in Malaysia its very common to exchange gifts to neighbours and coworkers. Unless you're just being a jerk. Accept the gift and be humble, that's all. Ciao.

      @patternsofpossibility understandable. i mean not all malaysian is that fond of constantly gifting every week and all. im just saying from a diff cultural perspective, there are ppl that gifts more than they take simply because its their pride and joy etc. No need to belittle their effort into low self worth type shit. Be kind and be humble. Ez.

    Interesting take/perspective. For me, a compliment is an observation i make about the other person regarding their positive qualities or skills that stand out. I understand some people struggle to accept them, so my validation isn't connected to the compliment. It's an observational gift i give to or about that person.

    I also have people who I tried to talk to & become friends with, but at some point they seemed to back off and they are never as friendly as they were before, it's almost like they expect me to read their minds, but when you don't back off at around the same time as they did, the grudge becomes thicker and thicker simply because you were still trying to reach out to them, people are really pathetic.

    • @patternsofpossibility
      @patternsofpossibility 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It sounds like you have quite a bit of frustration and confusion with how people behave. I get it! It was my story for several years. I found myself feeling the same way until I realized that I was the common denominator. If you have a desire to change your dynamic and interactions with people, consider these two things: 1) There may be something that you're doing to cause them to hold a grudge. You may be turning people off with your actions. 2) You're missing something important to know about the people you hang out with. They may be grudge holding people who you always seem to find yourself connected to. In any case, you'll be empowered when you start looking at your behaviors and make a change.

    I have a cousin who I sent a message to on Facebook messenger a couple of years ago, I was simply asking her a question about something then she blocked me... and I remember when I realised that I had been blocked, the confusion that came over me was unreal. To this day I have absolutely no idea why she decided to do that. People holding grudges are strange, but they're even more strange when you can't recall any wrong doing that may have caused it.

      @@patternsofpossibility In your opinion though, what is the psychology behind someone like that? Is it because they never liked you and have decided to make it obvious to you... it's the fact they they made it obvious hence the block, because it shows you that you can't reply to the conversation. But that's the thing that really gets me, because we're family which means we're all going to meet again at some point and they will know that.
