I have the 518ze for maybe 3 years now. But my issue is now I get a squeaking noise followed by the loss of snow throwing and a little burned oil smell with under load just to clarify when this issue happens. I replaced the belt; the old belt did had some ware to the Groves' teeth part.

I just bought this snowblower this week. One thing missing from my older Toro (2 stage 21") is the blue knob that used to run up the side of the right side that would turn the snow chute. Now I have to stop, bend down, and change the direction of the chute. It's a minor convenience but it is a downgrade from the older model. I saw it still comes with the $949 model

Not bad for 1” of snow. A kids toy at best

No fuel gauage or hour meter and skinny tires is a joke.

I have this model and when I was using it today it stopped being able to turn left and it feels like something is slipping anyone got any ideas on what might be the issue as it is a fairly new mower and probably wouldn’t have 60 hours up on it

How about when the auger won’t turn and you’ve consulted entire manual. It has sound just not spinning at all

I can't see how Toro can call this model a two stage blower when it is clearly a one stage.

Maaaaaaaannnn Thank You Caleb! I've been taking the head off pulling it out by myself because I didn't know it had to be at full throttle. I have a question tho. How are the strings supposed to be lined up when I put the head back on please? Does the string go into the divets on the sides and then out the holes?

did it really need 3 guys with ride on lawn mowers to drive for an hour, over a pile of leafs 20 times, just to shred them to dust? would of been better to just collect and move them to somewhere else to rot down.

I recently looked at this product. I noticed that when pulling the throttle lever back to the low rpm position the lever will not rest on the body of the control panel. When placing the throttle at the end of the control panel, it will spring forward about ½ inch from the end of the slot.

On preloaded head and only one green string is out, its impossible to guess where the beginning is of the other string. By then youve ruined the preloaded head. Pain in the butt! Also, mine does not work tapping for extra string. Never has. Yeah dissatisfaction . Mary kay

This is a cartridge replacement, not installing your own string.
