AKASO genuine external microphone test - R27, WLC and 650SS
The results of the recording were generally satisfactory, but with the 650SS, we found that the sound would crack when the exhaust noise became louder. The Audio-Technica Corporation external microphone used with the GoPro Hero 4 does not cause such sound quality problems. In the future, we plan to consider ways to improve the sound quality of the AKASO external microphone, such as by improving...
Comparison of action camera microphones - BMW R27 as an example
I wanted an affordable action camera with image stabilization, so I bought the AKASO BRAVE 4 PRO. I compared it with the Gopro Hero 4 I had been using. It would be nice if AKASO could use a higher performance external microphone, but since the connection is not a standard micro USB Type-C, I think I will have to use the AKASO genuine external microphone for the time being.
BMW R27 ride down the mountain pass through the forest back roads
The BMW R27 is the second smallest displacement motorcycle I own after the TLR200. Because of this, I don't get to use it very often, but sometimes I take it out of the garage and ride around nearby. As you know, the R27 has a high-revving engine, but because it's rubber mounted, you hardly feel any vibration. On the other hand, in first and second gear, the torque is strong even at low revs, w...

Harley Davidson WLC Roadside Rear Brake Adjustment
While I was riding with WLC, the rear brake shoe came into contact with the inside of the brake drum, causing the rear wheel to rotate stiffly, so I adjusted it on the shoulder of the road.
Harley Davidson 1943 WLC test run
The Harley Davidson WLC transmission does not have a drain bolt. Therefore, oil cannot be changed, only added. It has been about eight years since the overhaul, so I was concerned about the accumulation of sludge in the transmission case. Normally, I would remove the transmission from the frame, disassemble it, inspect and replace the parts, and then reassemble it, but because I didn't have tim...

This is just a video of a motorcycle passing through the back roads of a summer mountain pass. There is no editing, music, or drama. The microphone on this camera seems to have problems recording at times, so I apologize for the audio being cut off in parts.

Also have a WLC---Leave it slack!!!---Good on ya--Donn
It might be a nice bike and a lovely ride but I had to switch off after about 1minute. Camera shake was just too much. Sorry. I realise you might not feel it at the seat but from the frame? Woof!
Thank you for your comment. As you pointed out, the GoPro I attached to the crash bar was a type that didn't have image stabilization, so the image was shaking.
I have thr same bike, my friend. Would like share a trip together, but you live in Japan 😢
Thank you for your wonderful comment. In Japan, there are very few people who ride Moto Guzzi California II, and I have never met anyone like that before. So I think it would be fun to go on a tour with someone who also ride California 2.
That’s the bike of my dreams the last 35 years.
I've got a wlc---- Wonderful bike--- canadian army----never a problem---cheers
I have a EV 1100 and it barks nice sound of yours though.
I have a 42 wlc---Canadian army---Out of my 10 bikes---I'ts my fav.---Never gives a lick of trouble----Have fun!
Horizont,horizont....
Nice, it's a beautiful aircraft, one of my favorites. Always appealing in JASDF colors.
Thank you for your comment. I was touring on my old Italian motorcycle when I saw this on display in a park in a small town and stopped in to take a photo. It's a model of jet fighter that brings back fond memories for me.
I’ve owned two LM III’s and bought a ‘79 T-140D brand new. Also had a handful of older T-120’s. The T-140 was a compromised bike, imo. Too much vibration and rapid piston wear (from the shorter rods?). Still I loved it. Hell, I was 18, why wouldn’t I love it. But, when I threw my leg over a MG Lemans, it was over for those Brit bikes. 1st LM was a ‘76 that I then sold to get my first LM III. Fabulous bikes. I eventually bought a ‘90 LM V 1000, and it was all over for the III! Now, many decades later, ive sold off all my bikes but one. The LM V. Take care. Ride safe.
Thank you for your comment. You have an amazing motorcycle career. I think the Le Mans V is a complete motorcycle, part of the series starting with the 850. I'm almost 70 years old, so I need to reduce the number of motorcycles I own, but I haven't decided yet. I'm going to take a little more time to make a choice. I hope you have a good motorcycle life.
Very nice, my wife and I have mk3's mines is white like your's and she has a red one, Japan looks like Scotland there!
Thank you for your comment. The Le Mans 3 is a motorcycle that is easy to handle and has enough performance for me. I have ridden motorcycles from various manufacturers, but Moto Guzzi is my favorite. I hope you two continue to enjoy your motorcycle life.
Beautiful setting. Where is this?
Thank you for your comment. This is Hokkaido, a small island in northern Japan.
Cool bike!
So similar to the Spada I had in the 80's. Great touring machines.
Thank you for your comment. So you have a Spada. It's a 1000SP Spada. It's lighter than my California 2, and has more power and torque. I think it's the perfect Moto Guzzi for touring.
Hi Where in the world are you?
Thank you for your interest in my video. This is a small island in northern Japan called Hokkaido.
if you ever ride a Motto Guzzi, you will sell your Harley and go buy one
Or an old /5 BMW
Thanks for that---I've had my 42 WLC forever and it's still my favorite of 7 bikes!
Thank you for your comment. So you have seven favorite motorcycles. Enjoy riding them!
ten minutes of boredom
I was hoping to get a good look at the Moto Guzzi, but all I saw was the top of a windshield.
Thank you for your comment. I always travel alone and have my camera on the side of my helmet or on my chest, so the only footage I got was through the big windshield of my Moto Guzzi California II. In the future, I'll try to get the California II in the frame.
@@classicmotorcycleriding3101 ,yes at the beginning, show off the bike. I love how the Guzzi’s look. I started riding in 1965. I’ve had many various brands, some rare ones also.
Thanks for the good idea.
Thought it was also the California coast. No. Somewhere in Asia.
Thank you for your comment. As you might imagine, this is an island in northern Japan called Hokkaido.
MOTO GUTSY and a massive screen
Yes, the California 2 also has a large screen, just like the 850T3 California.
Sound with first camera is better. I have same bike but with police fairing. I'm from Barcelona and do thousands of kilometers with my California 2, this summer a trip around Spain and in september I'm planning going through Europe. And you, where're you from?
Thank you for your comment. I live on a small island in northern Japan called Hokkaido. Because it is surrounded by the sea on all sides, touring is limited to a certain area, so even the longest trip is about 1500 to 2000 km. You live in Barcelona. Europe is a continent, so it's great to be able to ride your California 2 to different countries. When I was younger, I spent a summer in Northern Norway, and there were a lot of motorbike riders from all over Europe, including some from Italy, who were trying to reach the Arctic Circle. As you say, I also think the GoPro Hero 4 has better sound quality from the external microphone. The AKASO's external microphone connection terminal is not a standard one and can only be used with genuine external microphones. This means that I cannot connect higher quality microphones available on the market.
❤❤❤❤❤
That bike seems to have a steering lock. What year is it? My 1966 650SS has old 7" fork width - the bike had been used for racing (I am basing that on the wired-on exhausts and sump plug), and I assume the 7 3/8" forks had been smashed up and replaced with older ones without the lock.
Thank you for your comment. My 650SS is made in 1965.
Nice bike but its a pity about looking through the fly swatter.
Nice.
Ahhh..the Hammers of Hell.... 2000 Guzzi V 11 Sport. Same deal.... pure joy.. let the engine do the breaking then shred the pavement with massive torque out of the corner...❤
Thanks for your comment. That’s why I like Moto Guzzi.
Excellent combination. Both are rather underrated. Now other, more obvious, versions have become extremely expensive their value is about to rise.
Thank you for your comment. As you said, the old Tonti-frame Moto Guzzi and mono-shock BMW twins are not very popular. That's why I was able to get them at a reasonable price, but unfortunately I have now sold the R100RS. For long-distance touring, I use two Moto Guzzi, and for day trips, I mainly use the T140 or 650SS. I also ride the side-valve 750 twin and R27 for short distances of about 300 km.
@@classicmotorcycleriding3101 I love the Le Mans series 3. I ride lighter bikes in the 600 cc class (like he Ducati Pantah 600 and Honda NT 650 GT which I tend to modify heavily with my own fairing designs and builds) but this is my favorite Guzzi, although I also like the Imola, Monza and Lario a lot. And then there is the new V 100 Mandello of course.
As I get older, I am also interested in mid-sized, lightweight Guzzi, such as the Monza, V50, V65, Lario, and Targa750.
@@classicmotorcycleriding3101 Such bikes deliver everything one needs on the road at more or less legal speeds. The best motorcycle in the world is the one you are in full control of. 👍
As you say, I think it is important to choose a motorcycle with a displacement that you can control. But what is interesting is that it is not just the displacement that affects the engine's character, but also the shape of the cam and the size of the carburetor. I think the strong torque from low speeds and gentle acceleration that I felt when I first rode the California 2 were due to the heavy flywheel, small-diameter carburetor, and cam shape. Even though it is the same Moto Guzzi, the LM3 is very different in that it has strong torque from low speeds and a good acceleration due to the Dellorto carburetor with an acceleration pump. And both are fun to ride, and I never get bored even when riding long distances. My son's Ducati 860GTS, with its light flywheel and sharp acceleration, gave me the impression that it was urging me to go faster. The Moto Guzzi is different, and even when riding behind a four-wheeled vehicle traveling at the legal speed, the LM3 does not make me feel rushed by the motorcycle. Let's continue to enjoy life with motorcycles together.
My WLA sounds like a bucket of nails compared to this bike. ...
Thank you for your comment. You say you're riding a WLA. Does that sound come from the engine or TM? I got my WLC in 2014, and the cylinder sleeve was at its limit for size increase, so in 2016 I bought a NOS standard size cylinder, piston, valves, etc. on e-bay and completely overhauled the engine and TM. Since then, the engine has become quieter and revs up smoother. Enjoy your WLA.
they go wonderfully through the bends.
1st big bike I rode was a 1976 860 GTS, same colour as this one. Took me a while to learn how to kick start it- technique rather than sheer force.
Thank you for your comment. This GTS was also made in 1976 and had a starter motor, but I removed it and replaced the side cover with a model without a starter motor, so it only uses kick start. As you say, kicking requires some skill.
@@classicmotorcycleriding3101 ah yes, now I recall it had a starter motor but it never worked to kick over the engine- the battery presumably wasn’t powerful enough
I had one the same color. Odd but attractive.

@@classicmotorcycleriding3101I have a Cali 2, too. 😊
Mate you have a great collection of bikes
Thank you for your interest in my videos. Science I live in the countryside, I haven’t had the opportunity to see old motorcycles from UK, Italy, or USA. So, I started collecting little by little so that I could actually try riding them. To maintain these old bikes, I either sent them to specialty shops in the city or went to a school that taught me how to restore them so I could maintain them myself.
Satter Sound. 👍 Wunderschön!
Got a 2010 white Cali Vintage. Her vibrations make me smile
Thank you for your comment. Cali Vintage is also nice Moto Guzzi. Enjoy riding her.
sounds great
This is beautiful, I saw a beaut in Geraldine in NZ in January, it was used and had a good life but was superb.
Your thoughts on looking through that screen?
Thank you for your comment. I think that the California 2's up-handlebars and comfortable seat make it less tiring for the rider even when riding for long periods of time. When riding in that position, I get the impression that the field of vision is wide. In particular, the LM3 that I own is perfect for enjoying cornering on winding roads, but the Cal2 seems more suitable for long-distance touring while enjoying the scenery.
Great running and sounding bike! How does it compare to a 650 BSA?
Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, I have never ridden a BSA 650cc, but I got the impression that it had more torque than the Triumph T140. The T140 gets more power at 4,000 rpm or more, but the Dominator 650SS accelerates vigorously from around 3,000 rpm.
Real bikers wear boots common Sense do you have any
You must be very frustrated…
Early 80's this bike in white was the most beautiful riding around.
Classic Moto Guzzi's always had the nicest looking cockpits and clocks.
LeMans Super Adventure!😂😂
Thank you for your comment. As you know, LeMans is originally a sports tourer that specializes in high-speed cruising, but thanks to Moto Guzzi’s engine characteristics, which have a lot of torque even at low speeds, it can run a variety of roads.
@@classicmotorcycleriding3101 Right. No TC, no IMU, no ABS, no FI.....pure riding. Best regards
If you’d like, I’d be happy if you could watch the California 2 videos posted in August 2022. The title of one of three videos is as follows. “Adventure riding Moto Guzzi California 2 on a gravel road to the top of mountain.” Thank you for your interest in my videos.
