    Hello! Thank you for the video! I am wanting to make a cowl neck pullover sweater using a fabric like this. Although, the grids are meant to be on the inside of the garment, closest to the body, I really like the look of the grids on the outside. If I was do sew a garment like this, should I line the inside of the sweater? If so, what lining would you recommend? I am considering doing a double layer of the grid Polartec allowing to have the grid on the inside for technical benefits and outside for aesthetics. What would you recommend? Thanks!

      Great question and a tough one, too! Are you in our Facebook Group, Sew Inspired by Discovery Fabrics? I think this is an excellent question to throw out to our collective mind as it may generate answers from other customers that live in similar conditions and have made hats with some of our fabrics. Off the top of my head, I'm wondering if you could make a hat with our Stretch Woven fabric style called Sun Pro. It's on our Stretch Woven page and is a very lightweight stretch woven with a UPF rating of 50+. I think it could make a bucket style or baseball style cap.

      We will certainly try! When we do a video like this with many different fabrics, we try not to make it toooo long with a lot of detail about each different fabric, but we certainly understand how the weights of each fabric can be an important factor in decision making:) . For now, you will find all the Specs and Features (including oz/sqyd and gsm) below the main fabric description on each webpage, under the Specs and Features heading!

    Great video! Very informative presentation. About 10 yrs. ago I purchased a Copper-fit cooling cloth from the clearance aisle @ Walmart. I never saw it advertised. I never found another one. I saw two bad reviews, but they didn't use it how I did. The package reads UPF 50+ 85% polyester 11% spandex 4% copper and other fibers (whatever that means). I can't find it anywhere. Do you have it or something similar?

    Thanks! A couple of suggestions: Instead of the pony bead at the cord lock to prevent it from slipping off, simply tie a knot and then thread the two ends through the cord lock. At the other end, instead of the cord clip, simply sear the ends (quickly!) to seal the cord and tuck the ends into the laces toward the toe of the shoe. I appreciated being given the diameter of the cord used.

      yes, in fact, if you don't add padding, it will take away your heat, because these reflective material is made of aluminium and is better conductor than cotton or down. It works only if we use insulation, if we don't, will be the opposite.

    Hi, I’m looking to make a puffer jacket, would you suggest a heavier gsm of nylon or would this work fine? Seems a little thin for me. Also would you use polyester instead of nylon? Thank so much

    • @discoverytrekkingoutfitter3140
      @discoverytrekkingoutfitter3140 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Down Proof DWR is generally recommended to ensure you don't lose fibers of your insulation. It's more important than the weight of the lining itself.
