Cobra Fortis Review: Worksop College
Earlier this year we visited Worksop College in Nottinghamshire to see how they were getting on with their two Cobra Fortis 25B petrol lawnmowers and lawncare cartridges that they purchased in 2023. The mowers were chosen for the maintenance of the College's lawns and cricket pitches that require a fine finish.

excellent. thanks
who's the NINNY TWIT who left the music playing non-stop through the entire video? That makes this video like an MTV style music entertainment video and not an instructional or even informative video. Is there some reason why you want to keep the viewer's attention divided between the music and the narrator and his demonstration? And then when he runs the mower, you turn the music up even louder. Why? Is there some reason why you don't want the viewer to hear what the mower sounds like when it's running? The non-stop music makes this video a joke, something not to be taken seriously. When you were in school and your instructor gave a formal lecture, or informal lecture, or a demonstration, did he play music non-stop through the entire lesson?
$?
I am really surprised that you found this chipper useful? I have one and it is a really bad design, the engine is OK, mine is an electric start model, but the blades are held in a cheap and nasty sheet steel fabrication, that means that there is no energy in the cutter flywheel, as soon as a small branch goes in it can easily stop the flywheel, to the unsuspecting user the machine is still running, but of course the flywheel has stopped, and it is not until smoke starts to come out of the drive system that people will start to investigate, the flywheel being made up of a welder tube is not concentric, so any chunks of wood will stop it, results are the same as above, a totally useless machine unless shredding grass!
Don’t buy, all the nuts n bolts that hold the exhaust on, vibrated off, I had to replace (5mm) but I added spring washers, why didn’t they do this in the first place. But more importantly, the shoulder bolt that holds the left side of the chain break also vibrated off and I found I could not replace this. Therefore, don’t buy cobra chainsaws, they’re dangerous.
Can it be shipped to Norway?
Can you get floatation tanks to deal with a British summer?😂
Bring it to USA !
What is the release date of this mower please? Also, in future, could you please ensure that you issue release date information both on your website and in videos such as these. As a potential customer, I do not want to be wasting time watching reviews for obsolete or > 4 year old technology.
Just brought one as soon as I pull the lever up engine cuts off . Why ?..
Are you getting off the seat when you unload, if so then that may be the reason
Thanks for this informative video! I purchased a Cobra some time ago and am just about to use it for the first time!
Your product began to lose some of its appeal with that mess of a cartridge change.. what were the engineers thinking? 🤦
Lasted a season. Still fault finding, plug changed, fuel changed, fuel pipes checked, wont start. Will be back to the shop. Cant recommend.
Is Cobra sale in USA ?
I would like to hear the mower and not the music …. 🙃
Great video. Would you recommend this model or the M46B?
Thank you just bought one
Its nice, its competative. The housing on the top for the battery is a bit unthought about, in terms of design.
Looks great, except the cartridge change is a bit of an effort, should have simplified it
Also the hight adjustment, why not have a level on the mower rather than a bar and a ruler 😂
Yeah I was all over it till that cartridge change. What a giant faff!
Hopfully will be cheaper then then ridiculously overpriced allet mowers
why isn't it on your website yet
When will this product be available?
Thank you for this. The assembly instructions in the manual for this mower are atrocious, and whilst it’s probably easy enough to work out, it’s nice to know you’re doing the right thing.
can you tell me the price how mutch is it?
Is there any information about the expected price?
Bin gespannt wie lange „made in China“ überzeugen kann 😅
Ab wann ist er verfügbar?
Ab März müsste ich die ausliefern können.

I hope the one I have bought is going to work....parker brand awful
Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower th-cam.com/users/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.
, cast cast
Meeison cost
The front oil cap doesn’t unscrew on the 17b as it gets stuck on the faceplate. Can you fill via the rear oil cap?
hello martin, i am looking at this mower at my local garden centre in scotland, my question for you is how do you find the grass pick up, is the collection good? thank you martin
Yeah, the battery pack is a little Lithion Ion pack with about $10 worth of cells inside it, which they sell for over $100, and there is no way to start the mower without it. I've got another brand and model mower, with one of these Briggs "instart" engines with that battery pack. I only bought it because the mower was on sale cheap. They are good for about 4 years if you are lucky. And they often can't crank the motor enough to get it started, requiring you to RECHARGE the battery and try again an hour later. Trust me. You'd rather have a pull start engine.
Lovely mower, I’m conflicted between this and the Fox QuadCut. Oh and I saw that wheel spin and I die a little every time I see a self prop do that 😂
I was duped by this video, dont waste your money they are absolutely rubbish nothing but trouble , my local lawnmower shop has stopped selling them as he sick of people returning them, ,go to the main review site and read the terrible reviews, 💩
Sounds very noisy for something that doesn't have a motor/
I'm female 65 need to know how to assemble it not how good it is!
I have a Cobra battery powered lawnmower. I have a roughly 200 m2 lawn, which is a medium size. In summer it can just about do the whole lawn on one charge. In autmn and spring it needs five charges. The battery is very temperature sensitive. New batteries cost a fortune. It’s not fit for purpose, I wasted £300 on a pile of rubbish. I complained to Cobra, and they said get lost. It’s also heavy.
I have a Cobra battery powered lawnmower which looks like that one. I have a roughly 200 m2 lawn, which is a medium size. In summer it can just about do the whole lawn on one charge. In autumn and spring it needs five charges. And when the battery is not fully charged it loses power and struggles with all but a trim. The battery is very temperature sensitive. It’s not fit for purpose, I wasted £300 on a pile of rubbish. I complained to Cobra, and they said get lost. As for weight, it’s very heavy compared to my corded electric mower,
I have had this model now for two years, and it is an excellent mower for large areas. I have a 1 acre lawn which I mow regularly using the mulch plug. It keeps the grass in good condition and saves a lot of time compared to emptying the grass bag. The Honda engine is very fuel efficient and powerful in use. This year I have used the Honda service kit for the mower, which includes fully synthetic oil for the engine, I would really recommend using synthetic oil for longevity of the engine. The four speed gearbox allows for a wide variety of speeds that can be changed on the move, the first and second gears are particularly good while mulching as they give the mower time to cut the grass finely. Overall, I think the mower is very high spec and excellent value compared to competitive models. The Honda engine offers the promise of a long life, and so far the deck and other components are standing up well to regular use on a large lawn. An excellent product
Interested to hear any views on this mower, from experienced petrol users 👍
How is it in briars etc
How do you fold the handles down as mentioned at 1:26?
Do you no what a DVO ENGINE MEANS
This is a sales pitch not a true review
Seems like a promotional video - this mower gets 2.5 stars on Amazon
Would be nice to see it actually cutting grass, not pushing it over an already cut lawn, its like a clean shaven man shaving his face.
Just bought a cobra m46spc, a nice mower but what's with the design of the body, every mower I've ever owned you can drag up steps backwards one step at a time and the wheels allow this but this model has the body which is behind the back wheels so you can't drag it up steps. As a gardener visiting many customers gardens with steps I have to pick this up and carry it up and down and it's so heavy and dangerous to do this, if I'd known this design flaw I wouldn't have bought it, do Cobra think everyone has a flat garden straight out of the shed 🤬
It's out of stock everywhere
