Why you dont declutter the toys together with your Kids???

You have done an amazing job cleaning your house! I would just like to suggest a small shelf that can hold each pair of shoes on the shelving in view to see each pair, because the box you are using now is just hiding a mountain of shoes you will still have to dig through. This will leave forgotten shoes, a mess and damage to the shoes. If you use a low cabinet type shelf with three shelves or so and doors to cover, it will hide the shoes from visitors to be aesthetically pleasing and look uncluttered but when you open the doors each pair of shoes is on each shelf visible and in place. Just thought I would recommend that idea. You've done an amazing job and you have inspired me so much and taught me a great way to clean and declutter without getting overwhelmed. Please toss out the Archangel Oracle Cards box. The author Doreen Virtue left the New Age and is now a Christian. She says they were demon-channeled when she was fooled by the New Age. She says they are dangerous and urges people to burn/trash/get rid of her old works.

Oh my goodness, your video is so relatable. Its like you were opening the drawers and cupboards in my house. Its what i call clean dirt. As in its all about stuff messing the house (and my head) up, not dirt, but it makes it so much harder to clean. Thank you for posting😊

I'm at a point where I just want to toss everything. I usually donate stuff but it takes months for me to actually take things to the donation centers. At this point, I know it's a waste, but I just want to throw everything in the garbage and be done with it.

Nice folding. I enjoy your calm voice and encouraging words. Not everyone is the same but, I suggest fewer storage units for the toys, bins/ baskets on bottom so they're easier to pull out and clean around, and having a donation box and trash bin to put items directly in so you don't have to pick it all up again at the end. We all have dust bunnies!! Great to see your progress!

I'm long past the kids toys and books but I remember how hard it was to declutter my daughter's things. My mom tossed everything so I went in the opposite direction. It took many decluttering rounds before I could bring it down to a manageable level. I really identify with your struggle. Keep at it! ❤

I'm so impressed by you! ❤ You asked about shoe storage. I use shoe cabinets (from Ikea) with two "drawers" per person. Winter boots, motorcycle boots or larger shoes I store on a shoe shelf inside a closet.

Ikea's shoe cabinets could be a good solution for your entryway shoe storage! It hides the shoes away but still keeps them from piling on top of each other.

Studies have shown too many toys for children to play with causes them high anxiety. They have trouble picking something to play with because there is too much to consider. Downsizing their toys raises their ability to enjoy the toys that they have to choose from. So, even though it’s beautiful to see the toys organized, it is much more exciting to see that their choices are limited. I learned this the hard way because after raising my four children, the grandkids were coming before the youngest was out, and I have never thrown away the toys that my older children have played with and added to it for the grandchildren to play with. it was clearly overwhelming and they also did not appreciate or excite over all the toys. Once I reduced everything down to just a few of the memorial toys and their favorite toys, they were thrilled with the few they had to choose from. I was thrilled that I wasn’t cleaning up toys continuously anymore. We are of the mistaken mindset that the more kids have, the happier they are. Nothing is further from the truth. .

I was declutterring with you last night. 😊 Been on my declutterring journey since January 2019 - I’m mostly maintaining now but it’s nice to have a channel like yours when you get down to a point where it’s harder to find things to declutter for motivation.

tip for the fridge, before doing any shopping, just wipe it through quickly with some desinfectant wipe, since it is probably pretty empty anyway. still better than nothing. and while cookign, check what weird rests could be used up in the dish you are making or cut up some stuff for quick snacks or to freeze while waiting for the water to boil etc. it will help you to know what is in there, whats about to expire and you can deal with it before it gets gross and can save money bc you dont throw out that much anymore. cheers!

I watch a lot of decluttering videos even though my house is quite mininalist and in order but I don't feel negative judgement towards others. How do you " throw out" your stuff. We don't have a second hand shop or a charity fund that collects your good stuff. Even asking NGOs will get a No because they don't have a place to store it. Unless there's a disaster with displace people which isn't common and timely

First time viewer. Whew!! You really did declutter - especially doing your clothing was quite a feat I'm old enough to be doing the "Swedish Death Cleaning Method" these days. Nearly every day I put something into the donation box to go to Goodwill. Looking forward to the rest of your "3o Day Challenge". One of my biggest challenges is Christmas decorations. Our library used to host a Decorated Christmas Tree Room during December for organizations, businesses and individuals. I did several trees just for fun and one for Veterans. After Christmas I'd buy many reduced items for the next year and DIY. So I have an attic full (although it is organized into bins). Gradually I have been donating little trees, colored balls, etc. and tossing out old faux greenery so it is better. Now I have to decide which of my personal decorations to let go of as I don't do as much Christmas decorating anymore. Nutcrackers, Gingerbread Men and Music Boxes are my sticking points right now. Guess I'm a kid at heart. Maybe my great-grandchildren will soon like to see them! Blessings to you and your family from central Georgia USA.

Have you tried clear stackable individual drawers

I know it's been a while since you posted this video and even more since you were working with the photo chest... but for those pictures that you don't feel good decluttering, you can digitize them. That's what Ive been doing, I scan them and have them all in a small drive. You can have a folder per generation or per person. This way you keep the memory but have the paper picture taking space. This works for birthday and/or greeting cards as well.
