Wicked is GREAT, but...
“Wicked” has taken theaters and audiences by storm. I thought it was a good time, except for one kinda-sorta problem.

Liking these first 2 episodes, I do have a couple opinions. That 9ers game, Brock Purdy was not great and it was easy to see but, we give him all the praise for only being a 7th round draft pick but get mad when he does 7th round things. I think not enough people are talking about Kyle Shanahan. Last year it was Wilks' fault and fired him after having a top defense. This year fans will probably blame Brock or injuries. Kyle is going to run out of heads to chop off so John Lynch might need to start looking over his shoulder. 2. As a Texas fan, the throwing of the trash was a piss poor showing on a call that shouldn't have been in the first place. I agree it made Texas fans and refs look kinda weak. All that to say, that 2nd half score was 15-7 in favor of Texas. If Quinn can have better pocket presence and the line can communicate, this game is going to look different in Atlanta at the end of the year. As for Kirby, if he aint the biggest pot in a room full of Kettles. He just shoved Van Buren on the side line last week, and he's talking about player safety? His student section also just did the same stuff against Bama 2 years ago throwing trash on the field. Yea Texas and Texas fans needed to be checked a little bit but let's not act like those Dawgs on the other side line aint got their own dirt on their collar. Sorry for the rant lol, catch yall boys next week

The original is danish - and way better, idk why they thought this movie needed a "happy" end. Maybe a few changes for americans, but cutting off the main criticism and painfully slow, bleak "funny games" like tone of the original is just beyond my understanding. Its not even a bad movie but if you liked the original its garbage and unnecessary af. What made the original so good was that it lingered with you for days after watching. I thought about some stuff for weeks and friends of me had the same feeling. The remake has nothing of that left. In the original none of the main characters does anything. That is the point, the main criticism. This "typical" danish behaviour and not standing up for themselves out of politeness. I'm from northern Germany, it is a mix of the dutch and danish behaviour in the area i grew up in. I get that this wouldn't work for american audience but in the end it feels like they took a slow but impactful movie, washed it with to much softener and way to high temperatures, added one good actor to carry the whole thing and tadaa, a mediocre popcorn movie 🙄

The reason why they didn't recast T'Challa because you have to keep it mind that Chadwick's death was fresh in the back in our minds at the time (especially his untimely passing back in 2020), not only that, it's wasn't a good time because it's be left a taste sour in people's mouths as well.

Everything you said is why a decision shouldn’t have been made and instead of worrying about bringing in more money everyone should’ve taken a beat and really thought and planned. Since Endgame, Marvel has shown they’re all over the place because they’re more focused on money than good stories. They’re just now course correcting and it’s still hit or miss. The solution was to just take time and figure things out.

I'm enjoyed when I saw the movie, especially the violence, and dark but dried humor with a taboo subject matter like this, however, I'm can understand that this type of film is not gonna be everybody's cup of tea because of trigger themes in this movie, especially people's personal reasons because what they going through those situations like this. Also, I'm don't think there is not much nxdity in the film, all they showed before & after they got grape in flashbacks because of that venom snake drink they have when their memories came back, however, the only they showed is that they wearing white bathing suits (which is bikinis) and that it. Plus, I'm personally don't mind watching this movie again because it's not like some of the films with bleak tone such as "For Colored Girls", "Precious", "Requiem For A Dream" or "Joker". So I can deal with that.

I saw this with two friends. One, like me, enjoyed it and didn’t think it was too gratuitous or triggering. But the other had nightmares and was definitely triggered as the warning implies. I think it’s completely up to each person’s personal experiences. While there is no blatant nudity, it’s definitely heavily implied and is not shied away from, to the point where even I was like “okay let’s move on already”. The big let down for me was that since I try to avoid spoilers and hadn’t looked too deeply into the movie, I had no idea there was a trigger warning until we had already planned our movie night, bought the tickets, and sat through 20 minutes of commercials/previews. If there’s gonna be a trigger warning it should be obvious BEFORE you spend your money so everyone can make a pressure-free decision.

I will say, I have seen it twice. It is definitely not gratuitous. It is only ever implied, there's no nudity shown, it is definitely focused more so on the empowerment of the women banding together throughout the film. There's no sexually explicit visuals, there's no sex that takes place at all in the film. If I remember correctly, there isn't even a kiss shared between the characters at any point in the film. There are flashbacks to the r*pe events but it cuts away from everything before anything can happen. The only thing that is shown is one scene where a man has one of the female characters tied and bent over a table and it's implied that it will eventually lead to a r*pe soon, and then the only other visuals are like one scene with the girls tied up and on the ground, and yes I will admit they are crying and screaming and the men are talking about them while standing over them but not about sex or what they're going to do to them or anything. I thought for the graphic nature of the subject matter, and all of the highly explicit ways this COULD have been shot (especially if it had fallen into the wrong hands) this film was extremely well done, very tasteful, not even a fraction as graphic or disturbing as it could have been, and really does handle this subject with nuance and delicacy. There's only enough shown to give you an idea of what's happening. Which is more than enough given how disturbing the concept is. The film is one of my top 5 films of the year so far. I highly recommend it.

You are right. Superman & James Bond have been recast many times. James Bond was recast recently even though he DIED in the last Bond movie! And in the past, when a soap opera actress became pregnant & started to 'show', & the character she played in the series was NOT pregnant, that pregnant actress went on maternity leave & a new, non-pregnant actress temporarily replaced her. The original actress returned when her maternity leave was over. Recasting is not a big deal! The real problem is Disney had a half hearted commitment to T'Challa / the Black Panther character, even though he was one of Marvel's best creations.

If Mahershaa loves Blade - Then he should probably feel like Wesley Snipes Blade deserves a proper send off final project too. If these actors love the character they portray as much as the fans who've been reading their books for most of their lives, then it should not be about any one particular actors ego, pride, or hubris. It's about Blade. However, I also feel the exact same way about T'Challa Black Panther. A character as vital and crucial to so many stories that make up the Marvel Universe, should have absolutely been recasted. God rest Chadwick's beautiful soul, but T'Challa (the fictional character) should not have been killed off, much less say it's out of respect... BS. Why, so Marvel can save money on his paycheck??? Will Jackie Robinson's story never be told again? Will Thurgood Marshall's story never be told again? Better not be the case... all that decision did was ensure T'Challa transcended eternity with Chadwick. An absolute injustice.

Wesley Snipes Blade NEEDED to be included... this entire phase of Marvel has been sh!t. Not just because of the agenda driven story telling, but because I was a stark critic of a multiversal concept that had no room for a Wesley Snipes Blade. Wesley put super hero movies into the culture. He started all of this.

All I can say is, Mr. Ali just needs to look at how Disney treated John Boyega & John Majors

Blade doesn't even have a working script yet. Bonkers!!! I didnt know Mahershala asked for Blade, but if I was him, I would grab another character. Blue marvel, Cardiac, Rocket Racer, Prowler, Genis_vel, Silver Surfer, the Black panther replacement ( which would be interesting since Wesley ORIGINALLY wanted Black Panther and they gave him Blade. It lets Ali be equally a bad ass character. HMMM the more I think about it, the more I want this to happen. They could make him T'Challas son from the future come back in time.

He’s always Prowler in the Miles Morales movies so that would work especially if they make a live action Miles. He would knock it out the park as Blue Marvel for sure. I like the idea of him being an alternate version of T’Chaka a little more. I want a T’Challa who’s maybe in his 30’s. Thanks for commenting!

Reynolds’s saved the trajectory of the MCU. This is totally Kevin’s fault

This past weekend my mom said Divorce in the black and Mea Culpa were two of Tyler’s best movies. It was then I realized he did in fact have a core audience.

A successful-Capitalist, for sure. Him now being able to create opportunities for his children to also be successful? That only underscores the fact that he has succeeded in the American Capitalist system.👍😎

A funny comment(does not reflect my own personal view😆) from another review video: He just makes movies for paying his bills and his wife’s expenses, period. His movies have been crap for years now. I don’t why they keep giving him money to make crap. Dude needs a break to India and come back with a clean head. The part about them giving him money is way off, because he’s been self financing a lot of his recent movies and he’s one of the few headliner directors who’s actually making original movies. Maybe he should also try his hand at writing and directing some Bollywood movies, as well?🤔😆
