The Life and Legend of Norman Leveille
The highly-regarded young NHL skater with the Bruins, who made him their youngest ever draft pick in 1981, saw his pro career come to a tragic end at just 19 years of age on Oct. 23, 1982 when he suffered a near-fatal brain aneurysm between periods of a road game versus Vancouver - but eventually survived to become a Bruins ambassador and a hard-working advocate for those with disabilities in his home region of Quebec and across the globe

Since the early 2000s more citizens of the Atlantic region are claiming either an Acadian Metis or Eastern Metis identity, much to the delight of those who respect Aboriginal heritage, but to the disdain of some Status Indians, researchers and historians who believe claiming such ancestry without a 'distinct society' to back it up does a disservice to 'real' groups

We had the Darryl Stingley tragic accident then this. I recall the next year's media guide had several pictures devoted to Normand. Great story!

Loved the series. Thanks for posting.

How I met Ron Ward. I was at work at a warehouse and it was the first break of the day. I heard there was a food truck outside that shows up daily. I went out there, met the owner of the truck and purchased my food. Eventually I found out his name and thought nothing of it. I mentioned it to my wife and she asked if he looked like this (shows me pics). I agreed he looked like an aged version, yes. Looked him up and I’ll be damned, I bought sandwiches and drinks from a hockey legend. He was polite and charismatic. I shook hands with him prior to his retirement from the mobile food industry and was genuinely sad I couldn’t interact with him anymore 😅
My favorite episode
You have great taste!
I grew up on the West Side of Cincinnati, Price Hill, and we would listen to games on WLW. Al Michaels had given way to Marty Brennaman; and one day in 1974, an off year for the Reds, Darrel stepped up to the plate against the Cardinals, he blasted a grand slam. Took place at Riverfront. My understanding is that Darrel somehow had that call played every time you'd ring his doorbell. We called him Dependable Darrel because no matter what he was ever asked to do, he was up to the task.
Great memories!
Thanks for the video. I can't believe Tip O'Neill skipped my mind ⚾️
No worries!
Amongst Toronto Argonaut fans of a certain age, Leon McQuay will live forever in our hearts.
He helped get you guys thisclose to the 1971 crown
Wish I could be there. Sounds like a great time. Maybe someday when I retire.
N.B. is a great place to live...Moncton, Fredericton and Saint John are all shining lights as is the rural regions
It's a terrific episode. What a great twist ending.
My family are French Metis from the Chaleur Bay area. Fishermen that worked for Charles Robin. We later settled in Jacquet River, New Brunswick. I myself have Acadian ancestry but no Acadian Metis that I know of at this point but we DID marry into many Acadian Metis families including the Vautour's. Strength to them. ❤
As you probably know, Jacquet River is one of three 'key' home communities for the Lapointes, besides Nash Creek and Gravel Hill, as the original Lapointes landed in our region by boat in 1801 and many eventually married FN women from the Benjamin River, New Mills, Heron Island and ERBFN regions - which was traditional territory...My great-grandfather was at least 1/4 aboriginal and he had more than 20 kids with three wives and his descendants are well past the 500 mark in Restigouche County and beyond...His second wife was an aboriginal from Nova Scotia with Black ancestry...Lorne is heavy with the Carriers, Mallaley, and Lavigne (Levine) lineage, which includes connections to Maria and some Jewish ancestry just like the Blais in the Lapointe/DeGrechie trees...Numerous Status Indians from up home have Acadian Metis family members, including Chief Richardson from Pabineau...
@@JJGovernorCarrier My family married into literally every one of those families you mentioned. 😂 My family are Firlotte’s, Bernard's, and Alain's all with indigenous ancestry. We are no doubt cousins somewhere along the line. 😂 I'm working on a project right now documenting all the families I am descended from and who they connect to. Pretty sure we're all cousins somehow! 😅
Does this stream anywhere?!
At this point, no...Cheaper to buy the DVDs
Best wishes to him on election day.

I am a descendant of mik' maq and several other First Nations people. I am proud of my First Nations heritage !.
Blood of the Vampire is now on blu ray here in Britain
Good show!
Im from Caraquet NB and its one of the first metis establishment since 1756, to survive deportation from the raid of MacKenzie, Acadian with native wife was safe since they mixed and collaborated with the MikMaq. Reading the history of Gamaliel Smethurst on the same time of the raids, youll find out that the Mikmaq was on the "Last Land" and were trap by the anglish in the north of NB since british settler came to NS and south of NB.
But the 1801 entry of my Audet Dit Lapointe family in Nash Creek has added 5,000 AMs to my side of the North Shore, as they married into the Benjamin River/New Mills/Heron Island ERBFN and in some cases had between 10 and 20 mixed breed kids...My great-grandfather alone has 500+ direct ancestors with Mik'maq lineage
RIP Ethel 🙏
RIP Ethel; she's finally with Bobby again.
He was all over the place. I remember him getting killed in Damien: Omen 2!
Had things had turned out differently, she would've been an awesome First Lady.
His name is not familiar but I do recognise him which means if I recognise him he must have been in a great many TV shows and movies.
Interesting how they, obviously, named it land ends as an exploratory culture trying to map out regions for their people and hunt.
He was a good actor, but never a star.I remember him in Risky Business, and in Noble House.
Definitely the best NG episode.
I met Pete Rose when I was 13 he signed a ball for me and he told me "You're a good kid Manny Kirkhart!"
Wow you got 5 comments? How did I find you? This episode scared me to death as a kid.
Because I am a Golden God, the King of All Media, and the only reporter in NB history to win 300 awards LOL And I'm not that good...55,000 print and podcast and counting over 41 years...you were bound to show up on my doorstep crying like a butterbox baby...
The Metis National Council recognized my mother's family as metis for a couple of years then they decided to exclude easterners.
Because there might be 35,000 alone in NB...Half of the North Shore is part FN as we have four FNs in a 85 mile radius, plus the former Benjamin River/Heron Island zone
There are more here in NB than three provinces combined...
@@JJGovernorCarrier Personnally, I only want it to be recognized that Acadians had very good relations with the Mi'kmaq. It's very hurtful when people like Darryl Leroux does all the mental gymnastics possible to call us a white supremacists rooted culture when all historical evidence about the Acadian period shows it's not the case. I am currently reading "We Were Not Savages" by Daniel N Paul and he basically confirmed and even strenghtened my beliefs about this.
There are 5,000 direct Acadian Metis in the Lapointe/Carrier family I am part of in NNB, as when we landed from 1801 on as 'labourers' we quickly married FN women from the region - and most of them were status...
He was my hero . He made 5’9 guys like me stand a little taller ! Rip pat

this is my old home town and just found out this happened there.. jesus
What about the Benny Swim double murder, then execution? The Benton mafia? That Blaine Higgs grew up in KKK country near Forest City? The KKK had big pull in this region of CC well into the start of CoR...Debec's major parade drew 450 or so while Benton had 350+

16 Blocks......Lol, good way to spend the afternoon.....👍
I remember as a young kid watching this episode. It was one of the best of Rod Serling's works.
Saw Maas hit one in the Kingdome in that 1990 Season that at the time was the farthest ball hit by a LH hitter in the Dome's history to that point. Landed on the 300 Level Tarp about half way up and out to RCF. Landed about 100 feet above the guy who broke his record for HR distance to RF (and the record for most hot up there) in CF for the Mariners that night in a Sophomore Ken Griffey Jr...
Thanks, JJ!
You bet!
Pretty good golfer as well. I got to play a lot with him over a couple seasons At Ashbrooke Golf in Port Hope !!!!
My cousin Paul Terbenche (Tur-ben-chee) My Godfather as well ❤️ Love You Paul! 😇
TBH, I never really saw why people hated Jar Jar so much. Sure, I wouldn't call him the best character ever but I never considered him a bad one.
Because he reflected the Lucas Gets The Kids By Any Way Possible theory - which started with the Nelvana cartoon
I thought Star Wars' most hated character was Kathleen Kennedy.
Talking in obvious cliches doesn't work in Hollywood, only here
I met Jack Billingham once at a Hotel in Finlay, Ohio when i was 16 years old he was singing autographs for my miracle league baseball teammates and i got an autographed ball from him and we were talking like old friends wish i got a picture with him

Bring your point up with Edmond...Media in NB does not hit the mark via social media as the majority of those prefer traditional ways of coverage...Some just don't want to piss off the FNs
So she was basically there to be their sex slave? To re populate the human race? Did she have any coice or was she ordered to have sex with the men as part of the mission?
