The presents are opened, a considerable dent has been made in the food, now it's time to watch Christmas specials for as long as we can stay awake. The kids will try and stay up for the cartoons, but just the cartoons. Getting through Miracle, The Great Rupert, and Scrooge is a tall order.

Christmas in peaceful solitude. Some people prefer company at Christmas, but sometimes the best thing for a hard year is quiet time. Time spent taking stock for the new year. I wish we had television on the rig, though.

For there is no more American holiday than Thanksgiving. Yes, it's more American than 4th of July. A day for being thankful that you have food. And as much as Americans love guns and explosions, Americans love food more.

A call to continue on the journey you set yourself on, a call to go to your job on time everyday even though it's very very hard. The instruments of surrender are a triumph, that you see another sunrise upon the hazy horizon of this shattered world. Be kind to yourself, and carry on detectives.
