Willow Branch Farm
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 11 มี.ค. 2023
My name is David, I have a farm in west Tennessee. I operate a small herd of beef cows and Pygmy goats. My goal is to film daily operations on the farm and show the reviving of a 70 + year farm started by my great grandparents.
I am somewhat familiar with filming and creating content, I ran a waterfowl hunting show called Vertical Desent Outdoors. You can check out that channel on TH-cam if interested.

I’ve been concerned about Ollie and wondering how he was doing. I’m so glad to see he’s some better and hope he’ll be completely healed in another few weeks. Little Bit Fred looked like he was strolling back in after being out on an expedition. lol I hope you’ll have some baby goats soon and maybe even some twins. They are so comical and it’s so much fun to watch their antics. Bless his heart, Kase is ready to open some presents. 😂I wish y’all a wonderful, blessed and very Merry Christmas and yes may we all remember the true meaning of this holiday season. Thank you God for sending your only son, Jesus Christ down to earth to live and then be crucified to pay for our sins so that we can be saved and spend eternity in heaven.🙌🏼 🙌🏼 🌟🌟🎄
Can’t believe another year has come and almost gone. Time flys when you’re having fun! Hope you have a very merry Christmas and thanks for always watching my videos. Give Kase another year and he will be putting out his own show, that boy is something else, and I wouldn’t want to do this life without him.
Simply Beautiful where’s Mama?????
At the hay ring munching on hay lol
I’m so happy to see Lil’ Bit Fred is doing so well but my heart hurts for poor Ollie. I pray whatever is wrong with his foot/hoof will either resolve itself or you can get him checked by the vet. Just don’t let him go too long in case there might be an infection in his foot. Hopefully you’ll have some baby goats in a few weeks or so. They’re so entertaining and fun to watch. Not sure where you were but if y’all were at Ward Christmas Tree Farm you weren’t too far from me. Your tree turned out beautiful and no doubt the “baby cooties” are the reason! lol
You got it, Wards Christmas tree farm. We have gone every year since I was a kid. Yeah I have to get Ollie back in tip top form, hate to see him so pitiful! Hope you are doing well and ready for Christmas because it will be here and gone in a Flash the way this year has flown by!
Is this Little Bit Fred or have you had another little bull born to a first time heifer? Happy Thanksgiving to you, Chastity and all your family. I’m thankful for y’all and count you among my blessings!🦃🥔🌽🍠
@@pampriddy7659 yep little bit Fred took a ride lol Happy Thanksgiving to you! My family is thankful for you and thanks for always watching my videos it means a lot I promise.
I’m so thankful you’re feeling better and was glad to see you Sunday. I’ve been wondering about that heifer. I’m glad she was able to go off by herself and calve without any complications. The cooler weather sure had the horses feeling their oats or in this case their hay. lol The goats were sure making themselves known as well.😂 What a rough day for poor Jim Bob having to get banded and on top of that being tagged backwards. Glad him and his Mama are separated now and won’t be bothered by the others or anything else. Btw, at church Sunday night I didn’t recognize Kase for a few seconds. His haircut makes him look so much more grown up. 👦🏼 Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and time of the year too. We all have countless blessings, so much to be thankful and grateful for. My blessings far outweigh my burdens every day. I hope y’all have a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy spending time with family and of course all the delicious food!
Thank you so much, I'm glad to be feeling better and was able to be at church. I feel like a weight lifted off now that the heifer had her calf and everyone is doing good. Jim Bob is now referred to as little bit Fred by Kase LOL. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving, and I'm already gaining weight just thinking about all the food.
If other calves have been sucking on the heifer, her newborn calf might not get colostrum because the other calves would have stripped it firrst. Get it some powdered or frozen colostrum and give it with a bottle.
@@DanaWallace-m8v thought about that myself, probably good idea. Thanks for the info!
It's always 85 lol
Which doors are those
@@jgutie4377 I had them put on at the dealership when I bought it. Don’t remember the details, just the soft canvas type doors.
Oh my goodness, I hate you’re sick and feeling so rough. I will keep you lifted up in my prayers asking God to restore you back to good health again very soon. I know the livestock have to be fed and taken care of along with all the other things that have to be done on the farm but please don’t overdo it and have a setback and end up being sicker than you were initially. ♥️🛐🙏♥️
@@pampriddy7659 thanks for your prayers, the head ache has been the worst part. I think I’ll be on the mend and back to new after this weekend!
Still believing its "covid"? 😂
Don’t think the cows care what they call it really flu , Covid , parvo…still sick as a dog and stuff still has to get down. Just got to let in run its course.
🎼 A farmers life for me🎶 God bless you sir. I pray you heal up quickly and feel quite alright soonest.❤
Thank you!
What a perfect song, yes when he’s only got 10 you’ll be that 90 that’s left.
Willow trees can be so aggravating. We have trouble with them around the edges of our ponds. And those fire ants are a force to be reckoned with. It’s amazing how they can just pop up overnight. Kase is such a big help feeding all the animals and he’s fast as lightnin’! Beep Beep! Hope your knee is better!
I remember helping my grandfather pull willows out of the ditchs when I was younger. If you don't keep them in check, they get out of hand quick! That Kase is mess lol, and my knee feels 100% better, just sore to the touch.
The trees are so pretty and that was such a beautiful view when you scanned the landscape for a few seconds. That’s some clever thinking to dump the roll of hay to keep them distracted and from getting out while you go to open the gate to get into the pasture. 😉Animals can outsmart us humans sometimes but at other times we can outsmart them. I’m thankful you had an extremely good hay season and don’t have to worry or be concerned about running out. It sure looks nice around your pond after you got it bush hogged. Seems like working on and repairing fences is a never ending job on the farm and it’s not about how nice or pretty it looks, it’s all about keeping the animals on the right side of the fence! It’s always a nice treat to get to see Buttercup.😊 🩷 I miss Kathy and still think about her often especially when I see Chastity picking up and moving forward with so many things at church just like her Mama did.🩷
The cows and goats are always looking for a way to escape I think lol unlike the goats the only times the cows have gotten out was due to human error (leaving gate open ha ha). And yes ma'am we miss Kathy too, but I'm proud of my wife for all she does at church following in her mother's footsteps and I think it's here calling. As I'm typing I see rain falling outside and I am thankful, just don't need any bad storms! Stay safe and dry!
I’ve heard several people say they’ve had to start feeding hay earlier than usual because of no grass in their pastures which of course is due to the drought. Praying everybody has enough to get through the winter and til next hay season.
Yeah, thankful we had a good hay season with plenty stored up. Looks like we are going to get some much-needed rain today.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What sweet happy memories Kase is making. In years to come he’ll realize what a blessed little boy he was to be raised out in the country on the farm.
Amen!

Wow, that’s a condominium duck blind! When I went duck hunting 40 years ago the blind I was in was a long way from being anywhere as nice as yours. I almost enjoyed the cooking and the food as much as I did hunting…I said almost because it was always great when a duck hit the water and the dog went after it. By the way, aren’t you grateful for whoever came up with the idea for the pole saw?
We sure ain't roughing it LOL, we cook some big breakfasts on the blackstone griddle. Seems like everything taste better in the duck blind! And yes the pole saw is amazing, other that my neck and shoulders don't like to work after using it haha

💆♀️But still no calf from the heifer?
Nope still no calf, I'm considering having vet check to make sure she is breed. So maybe I can at least know a time frame instead of just wondering.
@@willowbranchfarm yea that might be a good idea. Poor thing is so big she looks miserable.
Oh my goodness, she does look like she’s about to pop! Reckon she might be going to have twins?
Hope not lol (always a possibility) I'm more worried about her being a heifer and this being her first calf. Hope she doesn't have any issues when the time comes!
@@willowbranchfarm oh me, no that is big cause for concern. You’ll sure need to keep a real close eye on her to make sure she doesn’t get in trouble when she does calve. Bless her heart, she’s so big she looks miserable. Prayers she will deliver soon without any complications.

Time to put the mower, tedder, rake and baler up til hay season 2025.
yes mam! Maybe mow my yard 1 more time too and put the mower away lol
Wow, glad to see you got a 3rd cutting of hay for the year. Yeah it may not have been the biggest windrows but it was more than you were expecting and it would’ve been a shame to leave it and it makes the field look so much nicer with it cut. Seems like you worked out a nice deal with the hay rake. I’m sure not looking forward to the time change in a few weeks and looking a whole lot less forward to the colder weather. I liked that little added clip about Vanderbilt beating Alabama. lol I had to laugh hearing the goats cutting up so much. 😂 I’m sure not good at guessing how many bales but I’ll take a stab at it and guess 10. I’m sure I’m not even close. Hope y’all have lots of fun and a big turnout tonight!
@@pampriddy7659 thanks just took 75 hot dogs off the grill hope people show up and are hungry lol and that’s not a bad guess, first cutting it got 21. But not great this time. Kase has the answer on our next video 😁
@@willowbranchfarm I was sure looking forward to coming and really looking forward to enjoying a chili dog and watching the children have a good time but just not feeling up to getting out. I’m anxious to hear how it goes and also to the next video with the answer from Kase!
6 bales
Thats actually a very good guess, but off a little.
I think when it comes right down to it the majority of creatures are curious to a certain degree including humans. lol
I think you are right! lol
Do y’all freeze them to eat later or what do you do with all of them? How did the jerky turn out? What were the temps like? Sorry for all the questions. It didn’t look like it was too terribly cold. Last I just have to tell you that it kinda sounded like a Democratic Presidential rally part of the time with all that squawking’ going on!
LOL....We all split it up and freeze them for later. I am actually chewing on some jerky as I type this, and its actually pretty good. (have to keep my big boys from eating it all). It was in the 80's until we got there, then it dropped to high 60's and low 50's at night. But that strong wind and rain, it was pretty chilly first thing in the morning!!
@@willowbranchfarm of all the ways you’ve ever eaten goose meat what’s your favorite? If you’d rather I delete the political comment I made please let me know, it won’t upset me. I should’ve asked before I did it anyway.
@@pampriddy7659 You are allowed to speak freely, I'm not censoring anyone LOL The one I use the most is duck bbq out of the crock pot, but it's also hard to beat them just grilled, or jalapeno popper is another good one (ok this is making me hungry) ha ha
I bet they weren’t too much trouble to round up and get back where they belonged.
Worse part I was already to downtown Jackson headed to work and had to turn around and go all way back home. But no they weren't hard to get back in the pasture. (And it was my fault they got out, left a panel open). So hard to be mad at them, they just thought the grass was greener on the other side LOL.
u don't even show how to hook it up. hydronic hose isn't teaching about lift bar?????? on sideways mowers. just snapped the fucking tranny turning hydroloc bar because my fuckin supervisir is saying u just hook up the 1 bar. snap. how does it lift off the fucking ground???????????????
Oh I think I’ll pull for team girl this time! 🩷🐄
You got it. For the longest I thought my cows only had bull calves, but finally some heifers LOL
Very thankful for the rain. Of course this was obviously filmed before Helene so now I’m keeping all those affected by both hurricanes in my prayers. Your herd sure seems to be calm and gentle for the most part but there’s always got to be that one in every group that’s hard headed. lol It’s amazing how the rest of them just know what to do and they do it. I always hated when it was time to band the calves and castrate the pigs but that’s just part of what has to be done. The wasps, yellow jackets and other unfriendly, pain inducing critters are really getting active now that it’s time for cooler weather to head this way before long. I found two large nests last week myself. The goats didn’t understand that you just don’t lollygag around and take your time getting outta the stinging perimeter. EVACUATE!! Hope your hunting trip to New York was enjoyable and fun as well as very successful. It’s always nice to get away and make some great memories.
You are right I filmed that before I left, since then Helene laid wrath to so many places. Defiantly praying for those folks. And yeah, my herd is pretty calm, unless it has white on its head then they are a little crazy LOL And goats, what can you say they just do their own thing on their own time ha ha We had a great trip, hope to include some of that in my next video.
That time of year, we just moved ours to the last pasture before winter.
@@STA_FARMS yep, lucky for us with all the rain our pastures are growing nicely so maybe we will be able to graze awhile before feeding hay.
I can see why, such beautiful scenery. Where exactly is this?

Yay, another nest of evil dwellers destroyed! Those two poor ladies (goats) thought the rapture had come and they got left behind! jk,jk No matter how aggravating it is or how upset it makes you when something like a blowout or some other problem or mishap happens there’s a reason why it happened. Could be to save you from an even more costly repair on something later or it could even save you from a close call on your life or worse. God is always looking out for us and taking care of us. Whether we ever realize it or not there’s always something good even in the worst of times. The horses look so slick and shiny. I’m sure they enjoyed that bale of hay but it’s sad to have to start feeding it this early. And yeah, be careful bout who you calling heifer! lol 😂
