Whatever finning technique, try to make sure you kick relaxed and slowly. You don’t need to hit the highest gear and race under water. If you dive in current, try to use it in favour for you. Remember propulsion and buoyancy are interrelated, and will make a big difference to your scuba dives. Use fins that fit you well, as they will also influence your air consumption and energy, and, hence, also your swimming technique.

Squids in act of love in Komodo / Любовь кальмаров на Комодо

This is such a rare video! We were lucky to catch the act of love of squids. So much passion in it, their movements, how they change the colours… It’s is pretty hard to film the squids - usually they just swim away once divers are coming closer. But this is a sensation to catch such a scene! Actually, that’s the secret of scuba diving in Komodo National Park. Here you can spot many rare and uni...

Black Manta in Komodo / Черные манты на Комодо

Mantas - these are huge rays that almost all divers are keen to spot. Divers intentionally fly to places where these animals live, go to special dive spots where it is likely to see them. Once you have seen a Manta Ray, you won’t forget this experience! Quite often manta rays swim close to the surface, hence also snorkelers have great chances to enjoy these special moments. Спасибо, Лен!
With all due respect this video is useless.
Oh, yeah? Those were the goals we set ourselves when working on this video: to tell you why current diving, how to recognize it, and how to behave when diving in current conditions. We did. What would you add?
Good video. You are right, my most memorable dives with large pelagics have been in strong currents. One note: if caught in a down current ( happens a lot on walls) swimming horizontally away from the wall and into the blue is often the best way to get out of the down current.
Thanks for your comment! Yes, you can get out of the down current by swimming horizontally away from the wall. But this method does not work if, for example, you are diving near the wall of a small island - the current can carry you into the blue. More often we try to stay near the wall - so you at least have a reference point. Sometimes you can wait out a gust of current by hiding behind a rock ledge or using a reef hook, for example. But, of course, there is no universal method that will help in every situation
You´ve pretty shown the most populartechniques of Beginners - for advanced divers please show us the advanced techniques like back kick, frog kick or modified frog kick ? Thank you for your interesting videos and best greetings from germany
Thank you for your comment! We will try to show it in our next video. Or better yet, come visit us at Komodo - we'll try it together 😉
Liked
We are happy! Thanks 🙏
Wow, just calculated my SAC, yesterday I dived and the instructor could not believe, he just entered reserve when I was at half, It seems I have a SAC of 8.7l/min, I don't know but maybe I have a very natural low consumption since I could free dive up to 2:30 min with no training!
Turning into a fish, huh? 😉😂
I loved the trim and frog kicks in this video. Not so often do I see that :)
Thank you! We've been practicing for a long time... just for this video (hahaha) 😂😂😂
Good tips for using air efficiently, BUT the last two video clips underwater show pressure cage dangling below the diver and even hitting coral in the second one. Not good guys!
Oops (((( Stephen, thanks for the comment! Thank you for watching the video to the end and noticing the error! We are very careful not to disturb the coral in any way, and require the same attitude from the divers we dive with. Luckily, we didn't break anything, and just touched the coral with the pressure gauge, but still. We will pay even more attention to that from now on 🙏
@@wetfrogdiversdivinginkomod5596 Cages just make it worse. Get rid of them. Then divers can tuck the gauge into the waist band. Why put extra weight on the gauge, of course it will drag 😆
Great informative video 🙌
Thanks for your comment 🙏 We are happy if the video helps you!
Do not use auto generated subtitles 😅
😂It can be funny sometimes, yeah😂
I cannot believe the amount of weight the guy has on his belt @ 1:54 with a shorty. Does he use an aluminum tank?
Yes, the tank is aluminium. 6kg, we think he had, not that much Thanks for your comment 🙏
I look like a whale 🐳 while diving I finish the 12L tank in 25 minis my group is no longer search for me the knew I dived back to the boat
Thanks for the comment, Ahmed 🙏 We didn't dive with you together, but we have dived with big divers. A good buoyancy skill will probably help you to reduce your air consumption. Also, try breathing calmly and relaxed and moving slowly and smoothly in the water. Safe and interesting dives to you, colleague🙏
Good video 👍🏽and beautiful view 😍
Thank you! We are glad you liked it!🙏
Informative educational material! Great presentation😉👍
Thank you, Roman! It's good if our video was useful to you!🙏
Thanks guys for good mood! You are did my day!
Thank you for such a positive comment! 🙏 It's great that our video lifted your mood!
Вот у природы фантазия работает! Такое чудо придумать)
Вот да! С другой стороны: природа придумала, а каракатица теперь исполняет )))))
It's cool!
thank you! 🙏
oscar to the diver demonstration in the video. :D
Thanks for the comment - of course, it's very nice to read that! The shoot was a lot of fun for us, too 🤣 Currently working on a new video - stay tuned 😉
You omitted an important factor, Correct weighting! Perform a buoyancy check before diving, your weighting will vary depending on exposure protection, salt or fresh water.
Oh, thanks for the good point 🙏 Of course, air consumption depends on the proper selection of weights and you have to consider the conditions of your dive and the gear you are using. All these considerations we have included in the advice about buoyancy - secret number 4. Agree, it's hard to talk about good buoyancy if there are not enough weights or on the contrary, you took too much lead
Do the expended air bubbles rise slower in the deeper higher pressure waters, and speed up as they go up?
Yes, that's exactly what they (bubbles) do. That's why you have to let the air out of the BSD during the ascent - so your ascent doesn't turn into a takeoff 😉
@@wetfrogdiversdivinginkomod5596 thx. And wow. Incredible what we know, and sad how we learned it.
Hei you've forgotten secret number eleven.......
Hi Guiseppe 👋 Which one do you mean? 😕
awesome video thank you for sharing
Thank you 🙏 Stay tuned 😉
Very good narration, Nati! It's good to see you and Dima in this video. Lukas and I are moving back to Bali some time in May. Perhaps we'll be able to finally travel and see Komodo then. 😁
Thanks! And it will be great to meet here in Komodo 😉 Let's think about this
Dima and Natalie... I like yours video beautiful n interesting. Best regards - Pius
We like that you like our video, Pius 🤩👍🙏 Thank you for the comment ✍🙏 Stay tuned - new video is in development 😉🎥
This is a great movie and fun to watch…thank you guys 🤗
With our pleasure! Thank you for your appreciation 🙏
Amazing, may be better to go with it🤣🤣
Of course! It's better to follow rather than fight the current! But you know, sometimes we have to be ready for it 😉 Thanks for the comment and for watching 🙏
I can not describe how my feeling is to get back to my life style with lots of fun and joke with friends and guests on the boat and sometimes having a heart pumping when encounter with the untolerated current😀😀 Trully i miss that fun😢😢
We understand you very well! We, too, think of the times when we used to dive every day with guests and show them our favorite places in Komodo. Don't be sad! Let's have faith and hope that life will normalize and there will be lots of guests and diving again! In the meantime, there's time to make videos 🙃🎬 Please stay tuned and thank you for such a sincere comment 🙏🙏🙏
Sounds like you like to dive in the currents, right? Anything different now? Diving less? Or less joking around and having fun? 🙃
Very informative. Interesting video🎥
We're glad you liked it! We'll try to make it even better and more interesting 😉 Thanks for the comment 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you guys for another beautiful and interesting movie!!!🙏
Thanks for your feedback 🙏 All for you 😉 Stay with us 🙏
Can I add a tip. If, when diving with a group, you are always below everyone else, you will use more air. Try to maintain the average depth of the group. If you are a heavy user of air, try not to be the diver at the bottom of the group. Having said that, do not leave your buddy. Happy diving!
Thank you for this valuable tip 🙏 That's true and the deeper you dive, the more air you use. It's better to be behind your buddy to save some air 😉
I got my buddy 100 size tanks and I got 120! Problem solved! 🤓
It's a great solution - it works as well! 😂
Yeah it's why I quit after advanced. I am not unfortunately a woman who uses almost no air. God certainly made it unfair with some people not needing to breathe much
Well, yes, there is some unfairness in it ) But just maybe you should try to use our tips, maybe they will help? And certainly do not give up diving, if you like it, just because you breathe a lot
I'm taking a scuba diving class at my college. The first pool session was fun, but the afterpart, I didn't like: public shower. I just did it in my trunks, at my own shower head in the distance (no wall I'm afraid). Is showering after scuba necessary? I'd prefer to avoid showing or seeing things.
Funny question, thanks for it ) Immediately after a dive, we highly recommend flushing your ears - this is important. The rest is optional and not urgent, you can wash off the seawater whenever you want
@@wetfrogdiversdivinginkomod5596 oh it’s not the sea, it’s the pool inside
FFS, will you please stay away of the marine life!
We always dive with responsibility and never damage or harm the marine life. We distance ourselves from the divers who don't
Great video
We tried to make the video informative and interesting. Thanks 🙏
A good video
Glad you enjoyed it
