I just got this little sketchbook book and I love it. I normally like a plain black sketchbook but this blueish-purple is the color of spiderworts and irises so I had to get it. I loved this video. Your sketches are beautiful. You have a very sweet voice. P.s the cats are gorgeous. New subscriber 😊
Bro, i think you need to start doing something bro, ur staff are great but you arent getting any engagement, its sad
Great video
Thank you
I love the painting, I think it has the perfect amount of detail.
Hey thank you! Glad to hear it!
Hi! I was wondering what brushes do you use and how do you figure out what animal/bird you want to draw? I get stuck trying to pick a reference to draw a lot of the time
I’m using the watercolor and oil MaxPack! But anything that gives a watercolor effect and gouache or oil would work (: I have a collection of pictures I like on Pinterest so if I’m lucky there will be something there I feel like painting. In this case I wanted to do a local bird that I’ve seen, and something with white so I could experiment with using the white of the paper. Maybe having an idea of what you want to draw before looking for references would help? If I don’t decide ahead of time I just get stuck scrolling.
@ cool, tysm!!
You are so good! If you have time, please join pikat's server, come chill with all the rest of us! (b ᵔ▽ᵔ)b
Thank you!
Your cat is soo cutee !!
Isn’t he!? I love him so much. I’ve been drawing him a lot lately in my sketchbook
Something I learned recently in procreate is that the whole Colors wheel or panel can be dragged out of the collapsing menu. I just by dragging it by the white rectangle at the top of the panel above the ‘Colors’ word. Then it stays open : D
I needed that!! Thank you!! You could tell I needed it haha opening that window over and over
@@BirdsfootStudio Procreate should suggest it after so many clicks haha
lol for real! When I switched from photoshop I even thought, too bad I can’t keep this window open. Oh well. 😂
@@BirdsfootStudio honestly that’s a great mindset to have : D very little we can change in these apps! I also had to get a Bluetooth keyboard so I could use hot keys as well. I noticed touch screens made me have bad habits. When I switched to the sketchbook from the iPad, I would be double touching the paper trying to ‘undo’ my pencil like a robot lol 🤖 beep boop
Ha I’ve done that too. Photoshop was better for all the commands they had but I like the simplicity of procreate
I think my younger me when she started drawing she would be proud of how far I've come in drawing fanarts. but she would be disappointed that I don't have a popular presence in fandom cause throughout the years it became the least thing I care about as priorities came in. Also I was sketching along with you in pencil, and you are right, idk if it is the sketchbook paper quality or the pencil, but the strokes dissolve and get the paper smudgy and messy
That’s very interesting! That’s probably good that popularity became less of a priority, social media is so unpredictable so I imagine it could be hurtful to place your self worth in it. Like that cliché that happiness has to come from within 😅 Yeah I don’t know about graphite! I kind of want to give it another try but I just never liked it… the only benefit is erasing but I’ve tried to break that habit anyway
absolutely love this video! i like how vibrant the colors are while you are still in the grays area.
Thank you! That’s my goal! I love greys and browns, and when they’re the primary colors it’s easy to make something pop when you want
Wake up babe, new birdsfoot video dropped!
Thank you so much for your support Ali 😁🥰
Amazing art as always! I think the "awkward" stage is so beautiful.. its like the soul of the finished art in my opinion:) ps. You also inspired me to share some art progress too!
Thank you! 🥰 I often like my art better when it’s just the essence of the subject and isn’t over rendered or over thought. Less is more (: In this case though the rough sketch is a little too rough for me! That’s awesome!! So glad to hear that (:
new video! 🎉😊
Yes!! Finally! Wanted to post once a week but things have been hectic lately
Loved the truck drawings!
Glad to hear it!
:) love it!
Thank you so much! 😊
I've tried to paint and draw digitally, but I haven't really gotten the hang of it. The squash painting looked like it turned out very good!!
Thank you! I had a hard time with it at first too. It felt weird and I was overwhelmed with all the options. Now I by far prefer to paint digitally! Still prefer physical sketches though.
Can I ask, what kinds of procreate brushes you use?
Of course! I use Max Ulichney’s brushes. The Oil MaxPack is the one I use the most. Specifically I really like the MaxU Impressionist (:
😺😺
❤️
Gorgeous sketching pictures, the credits are having correct projecting scale and shades, even made the cars more 3-dimensional.
Thank you! Glad to hear it, all the years of measuring proportions paid off
I'm glad we can see the reference! It's such beautiful scenery and sketching!! Keep sharing your art with us!:)
It is very beautiful here! I’m very lucky (: Glad you like my art! I’m excited to have a new and probably my favorite way to share it.
Asking what direction to hatch is legitimate. Vertical hatching on a ground plane makes it look like a hole in the ground rather than a cast shadow.
Great advice! Maybe I’ll go horizontal next time. 😁 I figured it would be easier to keep the lines consistent if I went the shorter way.
This is feeding my desire for a fountain pen in a dangerous way. I loved the video!
Mwahaha I’m a strong proponent of buying new art supplies. Glad you liked the video!
What sketchbook is that?
Moleskine but I’m not totally sure which paper it has.. probably the 165 g
@@BirdsfootStudio Must be the big 11 x 14. Lol.
Not quite! It’s about 8 x 11.5 Still pretty big!
@@BirdsfootStudio Lol. Looked larger. :)
Hi.. Glad that i found your site. Great works 👍 I'm your new subscriber ✌️
Thank you so much! 😁
Saw you from a good friend of yours and mine. Your sketches look wonderful!
That must have been Jess! Thanks so much Noah (:
Good aketch
Thank you!
It would be great to add a snap of the view you're drawing so we can sketch it as well. Nice work
Good idea! Maybe that’s something I’ll include in the next video (: thank you!
I would love to have those references too!!!
Please Please...tell me your trick..the one when you stand if front of books and look intelligent...i tried it..sat in front of my books and took pictures..nope..not looking a bit more intelligent..even pulled out old big phone books...you are too young to have heard of them..look them up...still did not look a bit more intelligent...hahaha..Emma, i am sure that in a near future..if you keep up, your site, the way you present your video, your teaching, yes yes, teaching, will have a big impact on people that are looking for that kind of teaching..and you will make it as a TH-cam artist teacher of your style...Please just keep doing it and sharing it...
Aww thank you Jean! That means so much. That would be awesome if I could help teach or inspire even a few people. (: I do indeed remember what a phone book is. Maybe you need some foreign books that you can’t read on your shelf? 😅 Cheers! Thank you again!
Yeap..like i thought..you are really talented and funny on top of it all, that is a big plus when teaching others...Please Please..more videos when you have time...pretty sure i, and so much people, will enjoy them a lot...and your calm voice and mindset..helps me a lot ..since i am a crazy busy old designer....hahaha
Thank you Jean! I plan on sticking with this for a while! I have to say I’m enjoying it already. I like sharing my art and this is my first time with anything long form
Love the cats! So cute. And very nice art.
Hey Leona!!! Thank you!! I love the cats too 🥰 they’re fun company
@@BirdsfootStudio 😊
What a wonderful video, loved it . I like your style, didn’t expect that from a young woman drawing old trucks 🛻 marvelous indeed an inspiration in fact ! Made my day thank you 🙏
Thank you so much Gary! That means a lot to hear (: I’m an old soul and vintage vehicles used to be my subject of choice. Feels good to be going back to them, but this time from life!
nice artblog
Thank you! 🥰
someday these trucks will be as famous as Claude Monet's haystacks
Haha wouldn’t that be cool? Even if my sketches inspire someone else like the random old sketches I find on Pinterest inspire me, that would be awesome
great work!
Thanks a lot!
that's a really cool pen 😎
I’m really enjoying it! Hard to beat a plain old black colored pencil, but I’ll definitely be carrying this pen around with me too now!
You are really talented, sketching and explaining your process...That is rich...I love your style..gives me a Ghibli vibes, makes it more alive...will be watching all that you have done and will be doing..Thank you for sharing your talent.
You’re too kind!! 🥹 Thank you for the kind words Jean, they mean a lot!
New sub here...happy that i found your site...will be watching you for sure...Great sketches...really beautiful work..
Thank you so much!! 🥰 I’m so glad to hear that!
You're as calming as ever! Im just a week into my "art journey" so i don't think I've found my style yet, but I'm loving the challenge of learning something new. Your artwork is amazing and I hope to be at your level someday to go out and sketch anything and everything at will 😂
How exciting!! I’m sure you’ll go far! Isn’t it wonderful learning new things? At first I was a bit disheartened because it seems infinite how much there is to learn about art, but now I’m happy because it will keep me busy for my whole life and I love it! I know you didn’t ask for my opinion, but don’t worry about style (; it comes with time! So glad you enjoyed my video 🥰 Thank you for the lovely comment!
the sketches are beautiful!! and the background noises too :) i love how confidently you draw, i'm learning to be more loose with my strokes and it feels amazing when you overcome the fear of "messing up" and the lines become so alive. my younger self would be delighted i think :) by the loose stuff i do now when i manage to do it loosely i also love the idea of preserving a mood by making a sketch of the mundane things in life, especially the ones that feel so constant in our lives thank you so much for this video! it really made me think about a lot of things :)
I’m so glad you enjoyed my video and thank you for the lovely comment! That’s awesome you had good taste right from the start, I don’t think I did! And that’s true, it feels amazing when the lines start to flow and you’re moving at the right pace and you don’t feel inhibited. I never used to use the word “meditative” in reference to sketching, but I definitely feel it now!
Cutie pie <3
Isn’t he?!? I love him
You're such a calm spirit! Please do more videos like this with anatomy or maybe even portraits? :) thank you for sharing your art with us
Aww glad you think so! That’s nice to hear (: I’ll definitely keep your request in mind! You were probably thinking human anatomy but I love practicing animal anatomy too (;
This is so satisfying!!!! You're so professional with the way you do your work.
Thank you! I really try to make the best quality prints I can (: It was so frustrating for the first year because I hated the quality of my work. Very happy with it now though!
I really enjoyed this, so glad it's out. It was very relaxing and I loved hearing about your journey with art. I'm. Amazed at your decisions as a young artist. Good on you for going with your instincts and embracing fundamentals. It really shows. I'd happily see just pencil sketches if that's all you decide to share here! ❤🎉
Aww thank you!! That means a lot! I’m so happy I went back to the fundamentals and I’m hoping maybe I can inspire some other beginning artists to do the same (: It sounds so intimidating but it can be a lot of fun! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Awesome! love your work!
Thank you so much!
This needs more likes evrywone like ok😊
Haha thank you
That’s beautiful 😊 keep up the amazing work and pls remember me when this blows up ❤❤
Thank you Elle! Will do 😁
