    Very sorry of your diagnosis Hank. I am 57 years old and was diagnosed with stage 2, high grade bladder cancer at the age of 54. I went through chemo and had a radical cystecomy with a neobladder for urinary diversion. Just had a scan last week and I am 3 years clean. Good evening Pamela. You know if this white haired elderly gentleman had called Emmett a "boy" he would have been scolded for using a racist term. He called Emmett a "young man" at the beginning of the video. At the end of the video, he called Emmett a boy. And later called Emmett a child. ____________________ But, now Pamela, this older white man, Hank Dunn, traveled 950 miles from Lansdown Virginia to Money Mississippi, at his own expense, to pay tribute to Emmett Till. We need to keep the story of Emmett Till alive in this, and subsequent generations. And this man is doing just that. And yet, you feel it necessary to scold him for his word usage. I think YOU need to correct your interpretation.

    • @hankdunn6304
      @hankdunn6304 ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely was Montgomery. I am sure others, including King probably mentioned Till at some time. King was pastoring a church in Montgomery when Parks was arrested. He took leadership of the bus boycott movement soon after it began.

      The previous evening Rosa Parks had been at the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church in Montgomery. Theodore Roosevelt Mason Howard (TRM Howard) a civil rights worker from near Money had spoken there about the lynching of Emmett Till. Where are the videos made by Black people about Emmett Till? What Black person did meticulous research on the lynching of Emmett Till, and encapsulated the entire story in just 3 minutes. Who bore the expense, gave up their time, used their talents to edit a video from in front of Bryant's Grocery in Money Mississippi? ___________________ The clarion call is: "Remember Emmett Till" "Say his name, Emmett Till" Never forget Emmett Till" And yet, this man presented an *extremely accurate* recounting of Emmett Till's tragedy. _______________________ But a dozen of you have *wrongfully* blistered this man because he did not call him a child. When he called him a boy, young man, and child all in the same video. You condemned this man because he did not give a sufficiently gruesome account of his murder. You chastised this man because he did not spend enough time crucifying Carolyn Bryant. You accuse the man of not caring. If YOU cared, YOU would have made such a video. You demand that this man not do such a video because it is not like the rest of his videos. That was the single stupidest comment here. *WHERE ARE YOUR VIDEOS* There is not a single commenter on here who has done a story about Emmett Till while standing in Money Mississippi. *But you can sing every word of Cardi B's WAP.* ___________________________ Here is the TRUTH *If it were left up to Black people to tell the story of Emmett Till, he would have been forgotten by 1956.*

  • @gurnblanston3210
    @gurnblanston3210 ปีที่แล้ว

    You've got an awful lot of the story wrong. For starters, you didn't even care enough about Emmett Till to spell his name correctly in the title of your video. Carolyn never "lied", nor did she "admit to lying". The lie that you are ignorantly parroting was originated by author Timothy Tyson, who interviewed Carolyn in 2017 and CLAIMED she had admitted to lying, but Tyson's own audio recordings of the interview disproved his claim. Numerous witnesses present at the time, including the boys Emmett was with and Juanita Milam, gave statements confirming Emmett's sexual assault of the married 21 year old beauty queen. The disinformation that you're spreading is harmful. You should be ashamed of yourself.

    • @rucianapollard7098
      @rucianapollard7098 ปีที่แล้ว

      Timothy Tyson interviewed Carolyn Bryant in 2007. He didn't have any audio or written evidence that Carolyn recanted her story, so the FBI closed the case for the final time. However, Carolyn clearly lied about her encounter with Emmett in the store! If she was being assaulted, why didn't she scream?? Her sister-in-law was in the back room and would have heard her! When Bryant and Milam kidnapped Emmett, they said they were looking for, "the boy from Chicago" that did, "all that smart talk in Money!" They only mentioned, "talk" they said nothing about Emmett grabbing Carolyn. When Carolyn Bryant related what happened to the attorneys, she never said that Emmett touched her!! That story was concocted when she testified in court!!

    • @ALittleMagpie
      @ALittleMagpie ปีที่แล้ว

      I read all the transcripts, witness testimonies, books, and whatnot on this subject. There are many inconsistencies within her own testimony. I'm not sure if Timothy Tyson is telling the truth or what his motives might be, but the only thing the witnesses (including his cousins) stated was that he whistled, not assaulted or attacked her in any way. Some even believed he was whistling at checkers that were being played that day or it was his stutter (he had a known lisp due to obtaining polio as a child). Her own sister-in-law believed she was "telling a story" to get back at her late ex-husband. I have a hard time believing that he had enough time to do what he said in under a minute or even a full minute (again, witness testimonies). I have a hard time believing a barely turned 14-year-old would say he had experiences with white women. She stated she screamed yet the store is small, had a window that witnesses outside could see, and her own sister-in-law did not hear or see anything. She even describes it as an insult, that he offended her, not attacked by him or anything like that, except for the trial itself. Her own unpublished book stated that Emmett was cocky to her killers when she stated before that she never told them who did it to her (back and forth on this). I highly, highly doubt that a barely 14-year-old who was just kidnapped from the people who love him, driven to an isolated place, and tortured would, during the pain and near death, would say "Yep, that was me" with a smile. Even so, what gives anyone the right to do this? What they did to him was inhumane and clearly an attack due to his skin color. There are many incidents within history that have done awful things like assault with more dignity like Brock Turner the R@pist. Here's the FBI resource if you wish to know more: vault.fbi.gov/Emmett%20Till%20
