I doubt we will come across the Asia version but we are happy with this bottle. This is one bottle I would imagine that will be in some liquor store museums already.

There were a few bottles that I wanted… But so did everyone else and they were within the first 10 miles to go. We’re happy to at least get that rare character and not be stuck with a generic Blanton’s or High West.

I’ve had single barrel Blanton’s picks that have been better than John J Bowman. But that’s the exception. Otherwise it’s John J. Bowman all the way.

I feel like see more JJB because people are less familiar with it.

Three years ago, a Bourbon Pursuit podcast interview with Bowmans revealed they use BT's "high wine" with their own mashbill percentages. They redistill this using pot stills, unlike BT's column stills. Both source barrels from the same cooperage. These factors contribute to Bowmans' similar taste to BT.

I would assume it has gone down in price since then but haven’t searched it out! The 9% MD alcohol tax doesn’t help.

@@WildernessandWhiskey Recently bought a hand pick Rickhouse Wheat from Seelbach’s and it’s excellent. If you can find a Rickhouse hand pick I’d recommend giving it a try.

I will have to get a new sip of it and see if I get the same flavors!

We are 2 for 2 of great Rare Character profiles. I’m looking forward exploring more of their stuff. We also got our Fortuna from Esquire. Cannot recommend that store any more! Top quality on customer service and products!

It’s decent for what it is.. not my go to mixer but a very easy mixer. Would be a great rail mixer at a bar!
