    I know Lynch didn’t want to show it & Ray didn’t want to play it, but Leland being the killer is one of the greatest twists of all time and it’s the moment that everything in Twin Peaks pivots around

    "I look in the mirror, I see Bob, I put on the rubber glove." You don't think you would ever hear people say a sentence like that - then there is Ray Wise. Whenever I see him in a movie, I say, oh Ray Wise is in it, its a good movie - and it always is.

    That's good how with Leland, David Lynch gets the character to act like he's always out of touch with what's going on, bothered by some memory of the past, like when he's dancing in circles, and to put his blood on the picture frame of Laura, so it's as if the character is possessed by a ghost, but the actor, Ray Wise, doesn't realise it himself. Then the actor gives a conflicted emotional performance after the reveal, I enjoyed the demonic Leland that tried to dance with Donna while her friend Maddy was with his golf clubs, and how he almost ran over Coop with a car. I wished he got to stay around for more episodes before Coop finally solved the riddle of the little dream man in the black lodge.

    It’s insane to me that he wasn’t aware he was the killer from the start. There are so many strange nuances to this acting in the early episodes that make you suspect it’s him

    Wow. If you think about it, Leeland didn't know he was the killer either in the show. So in all honesty, this probably made the performance even more natural from Ray. David Lynch is that kind of rare genius that only comes around once in a while. . .a very long while.

    Even when old, the smile of Sheryl Lee is one of the most beautiful things ever! But seriously, Ray Wise was incredible in Twin Peaks and in the film! His death scene that he’s talking about here shows how talented of an actor he truly is. And this also shows how nice of a man he truly is that just the thought alone of him killing his daughter in the show did not sit well with him. God bless him.

    This shows how Lynch can be much better when his worst impulses are restrained by other writers and even by execs, who sometimes DO know better than the creatives. Laura's murder had to be solved, I don't care what Lynch says. You can't start an entire show with a murder, hang the entire show on people trying to solve it, and then blue-ball them for however many seasons were originally planned. You just can't. I know many others think Season 3 was Lynch's magnum opus, but I find it to be a self-indulgent, often incoherent and depressing mess that plays to Lynch's worst instincts. And so much of it doesn't take place in Twin Peaks or star the original characters that I think Lynch just wanted to write the show he wanted and use the name and some characters from Twin Peaks to pull in viewers. Blech. At least we still have the original show.

    • @FreemanBBFQ
      @FreemanBBFQ 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree with you, the stuff that Lynch did with execs or whoever (first season and 8 or what episodes of second) are actually magical and the best stuff I've ever seen, after that it's either the "meh" rest of the second season and the third season which is... Yeah, that's how I learned that I'm not a fan of artsy-fartsy stuff at all, it's just too much and I don't want to host Bob or another spirit to explain it all to me haha

      @@LargeCockIsBack now that I think of it, I haven't rewatched the series in a long time, but am I right in thinking that it was the whole point to show like darkness in people by kinda teasing that almost anyone could kill her?

      @ Unfortunately, I can't voice this opinion very often or I just get insulted or told "You didn't get it" like I'm not allowed to have an opinion that doesn't worship Lynch all the time. I still have great respect for his immense creative abilities and was saddened to hear of his passing, he was a true auteur who changed Hollywood. But I guess I'm just too conventional in my tastes and should watch Dancing with the Stars like the above comment says. Like seriously? I like Star Wars, therefore I'm just a sheep or something.
