Most every day i make it a point to read Mr. Burroughs words about the bald eagle at the end of Wild Life About My Cabin. They are the most beautiful words I have ever read.
How can you talk about John Burroughs and never once mention Walt Whitman? As we see from a book that is shown briefly, Burroughs wrote several books and many articles and pamphlets about his mentor and inspirational teacher, Walt Whitman. The love of his life, Clara Barrus, wrote a book called Burroughs and Whitman, Comrades, in which she lays out the foundations of the career of John Burroughs and attributes his "raison d'etre" to Walt Whitman.
Constructive feedback: Leave out the background music. The focus should be on Burroughs, his words, his life. The music detracts.
Wonderful work. Burroughs is a giant and is garnering renewed attention and respect. Your video is inspiring.
Beautiful video!
Concise and well researched by someone who clearly has respect for the subject.
I love nature!
My mom loves plants
This is awesome
Excellent video. I always loved John Burroughs and second the motion that he should get recognition like John Muir. I went to John Burroughs Junior High in Los Angeles and remember a beautiful portrait of him in the school library. Boyhood Rock touches my soul.
deep respect
Thank you for this Adelie! He is my 3rd great Uncle. I spent time as a child at Woodchuck Lodge. I wish he would get as much attention as Muir. His thoughts are especially relevant now- slow down, explore the world, contemplate.
tracy Farr I’m glad you enjoyed it! Apparently he is a great uncle of mine, too! And I agree, his philosophies definitely hold true today.
This video is inspiring and informative to the point it made me cry.
Good job, I like reading Burroughs, my mother introduced me to him some 50 years ago and I still love reading his works.
@Jacob Diaz to his writings..
@Ramiro Gomez introduced to his writings.. not him!!!
Great work! I learned a lot in 10 short minutes. Well done.
Thank you so much!
