Lovely bikes these Joel. I had an '87 500 new and an '87, 125 later that year. The 250 was a solid bike- those false neutrals were a common problem- making all the bikes lighter in '85 to '87, Ktm decided to ' hollow out the selector shafts, which flexed if you rushed the changes, can be sorted- those '87 125s that year also suffered with mega thin selectors which broke up & cost me a fortune- luckily JCB who sponsored me at the time paid for new stuff. I reckon the '87 250 & the 500 were 2 of the best bikes of the late 80s- i won lots on them, light, fast & look well tidy. You have a great classic there mate. Hope you look after your Dads bike 👍

Nice ride! Took me back to the 80's when I used to race with Northampton club. Track's a bit different now, but I could still feel the arm pump after the 4th lap ;-)
