Puss in Boots and Fear of Death
Thanatophobia
In Life, only death is guaranteed, and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, is a movie that encapsulates the fear of this.
The last wish, along with some other stories ill talk about today, try to tackle this fear in the most literal sense possible, as they attempt to show characters and how they cope with the inevitable.

This video I talk about an animated movie called puss in boots which uncovers the fear of death.
along the way i also talk a bit about some greek mythology with the story of sisyphus and about final fantasy 3 to further explore this fear.

The TRUE HORROR of Mouthwashing
มุมมอง 20K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
In the back of my mind, it's always there. Mouthwashing is an indie game released in 2024 and its one of the best games of this year in my opinion. In this video I try to breakdown its story, its horrors, and what it is actually trying to say. How sᴍᴀʟʟ Scenes Shock MORE
มุมมอง 24K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
Bullies are Worse than Villains The movie Dune has this big evil villain who at some point in the movie, spoiler warning, kills an entire family in this shocking scene, but what if I were to tell you that the movie INSIDE OUT 2, a movie about living emotions inside of a teenage girl, had a scene which had me more shocked. This has to do with how we as humans struggle to imagine, and some media ...
The most Depressing Time Loop game
มุมมอง 129K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
The HORRIFYING Reality of Time Loops In Stars and time is the first game to ever make me cry, and it has everything to do with how it handles time loops. Now time loops are a super interesting genre, but in a game like 12 minutes or a movie like the Edge of tomorrow, we dont see any mental consequences, the main characters staying completely sane throughout the loops, and only really getting ph...

The HARDEST Challenge in Celeste Celeste is a game about climbing a mountain, with some of the most precise and difficult 2d platforming gameplay out there. Scattered across the game, there is a total of one hundred and seventy six Red Strawberries to collect, as fun collectables to show off to your friends. but after you beat all the main chapters of the game, the game unlocks 8 new chapters, ...
Why Psychological Horror is So Scary
มุมมอง 123Kปีที่แล้ว
How Psychological Horrors scare you I have always been a massive p*ssy regarding horror, when I was like 10 I had nightmares for months from watching a piece of Friday the 13th, yet for some reason I always got pulled back in, starting with FNAF, then some Analogue horror and most recently and my favourite, Psychological Horror. Today, were gonna look at what makes Psychological Horror so thril...
The Character that Made Undertale SPECIAL
มุมมอง 167Kปีที่แล้ว
My Favourite Scene in Undertale The Best Scene in Undertale Undertale is my favourite game of all time, and it’s not even close. Now there are many reasons for this, of course it has amazing character writing, incredible storytelling, and maybe the best soundtrack ever, but the biggest reason this game stands out from anything I’ve ever played, is its incredible meta-narrative. How OMORI Fooled EVERYONE
มุมมอง 20Kปีที่แล้ว
Omori has the Greatest Plot Twist in Gaming Plot twists are a trope used all around in fiction, and are a personal favourite of mine, because when used well it can give you a whole new perspective on the story, it can make you think about all the characters in a new light, and if foreshadowed well, can even cause it to be better on second or third replays. Omori is one of those pieces of fictio...
How Indie Games Revolutionized Storytelling
มุมมอง 40Kปีที่แล้ว
How Indie Games Revolutionized Storytelling From the emotional rollercoaster of Undertale to the incredible mountain of Celeste, from the animatronic-filled nights in Five Nights at Freddy's to the haunting atmosphere of Inside, these games all have 1 thing in common. They're all made by either one person or small developer teams. And they have completely unique and amazing ways to tell their r...
How Deltarune created one of the BEST Psychological horrors
มุมมอง 123Kปีที่แล้ว
The Hidden Genius Horror In Deltarune's Snowgrave route Deltarune's Snowgrave route Is Genius Horror You might know Deltarune for its happy and wholesome adventure, but hidden in chapter 2 is one of the darkest, most disturbing gaming experiences ever produced. The Snowgrave route as it was named, creates a whole new type of psychological horror, by instead of making the characters self aware, ...
This video took me months to watch - from closing it on a spoiler warning to wishlist the game, to taking a 22 hour detour to finish the actual game when it came on sale, and now here I am back where it started! What a journey!
Is there any chance you’d be up for trying the Strawberry Jam mod? 🙃
Cool game
Great vid man U should try “Milk inside of a bag of milk inside of a bag of milk” im not joking it’s an actual game and it’s absolutely messed up
ive played both!! i think they're amazing, and would love to make a video about them when I find something that fits :PP
201 berries there, I'm learning farewell actually with oil skip but it's very tedious because I'm on switch and don't have save states to help me. I wonder if the 2 dashes are worth the practice blocade
I smell dutch
I died 1083 times in chapter 6 b-side 😭
are you telling me your one of the 63 people who did it
Im one of the nearly 800 people to do it at this point!
How is there 176 red strawberries? Where is the last one?
in the script, i called the moon berry a red berry :D
They hearded about Hollow knight 112% and say 'Hold my strawberry'
you're my doppelganger in favorite games, almost. The part where he kills you is peak fiction, just played the game through today
15 minutes in I see the start of farewell, and there are 19 more minutes left in the video... May the celeste gods have mercy on your soul.
u deserve more subs! im going for fwg rn after a year and a half of not playing. 20 months ago i attempted it but only got to event horizon once. 2 weeks ago i came back and immediately eclipsed my pb and more. As it stands my pb is Stubborness
i wish you good luck!!
This was so intense to watch!! Massive congratulations!! I just finished Farewell for the first time a few days ago... Y'all are just built different <3
Thank you so much!!

This was a WONDERFUL VIDEO MAN!! I loved it wholely, especially the music. It would be cool to know ur spotify hahah
ty ty! most of my spotify isnt this style of music, but if you want the song names there's a music list in the description! :D
@@Shilsey yeess i have added some songs from there (the C418 one and the one from the golden strawberry room)
Hi swumpi
5:15 what were you up to there??? :D
14:51 YOU GO AROACE QUEEN! JOIN THY ARMY!!
14:10 getting a golden with only a few attempts when you've already done the last two thirds of the map deathless in one run is not a fluke
id say after 2 weeks of not playing at all, 2nd real attempt at the golden when only 1.5-end done is definitely a fluke haha, but its a subjective term so it doesn't really have a definition
it really CAN feel like it, though!
bro dropped my favorite celeste video AND a video essay breaking down why film is perfect!?!?!? new favorite youtuber 100%
Banger video! For an animated film, Puss in Boots 2 really hammered in on a very grim topic. Really enjoyed it.
It's really cool to see when animated movies realize that they are not tied to only family/children friendly stuff!
This is an absolute amazing way of retelling the story of the game but i fear there are some questions you left unanswered (I am only saying this because I don't see another video on your channel talking about it). This is of course Loop. Loop's true identity is hinted at throughout the game but you don't actually find out until the finale in act 6. If you are curious Im sure there are videos on it, Its called the two hats ending.
I knew about this at the time of making the video, but i couldn't quite fit it in the script sadly, im afraid it was a skill issue on my part
Real nice video once again mate<3 This quality just deserves more views:)
Ik hou van poezelpootjes
Am I crazy, or was this video called Fear of Depth originally???
thats a different video made by a different person!
Maychance you're thinking of the Jacob Geller video?
Nah, I know Jacob Geller has a video called that... I literally remember seeing this video, and thinking "Doesn't Jacob Geller have a video called the same thing." Maybe my brain is just tricking me 😅
A Last Wish video is a bit out of left field for your channel, but I'm definitely not complaining. This was awesome, keep it up, Shil!
certainly a bit different, but im glad you enjoyed! :D

peak movie peak video i never thought about death in puss in boots as a metaphor but now it kinda makes sense

Also, one of the best things about the pipis route is that it is supposed to feel like a creepypasta, a secret, something out of place. Also in the holidaygirl blog we learn that noelle likes creepypastas and videogame secrets.
Dude congrats! I could never! I beat Farewell and got a few scattered goldens (I feel very validated that I got stuck on 3A. That made me want to pull my hair out). The thought of going from a 2500 death Farewell to a zero is not something I think I’m capable of taking on anymore with a growing family and a busier lifestyle, but I love watching other people’s journeys through playing games I love. This was so much fun to watch, my guy! Keep that simple spark of enjoying games alive!
I didn't see the duration of the video and I thought you abandoned farewell golden but then I stopped the video at 6 minutes and saw 28 more minutes.... I realised it was farewell....
it was farewell....
That last little jump at the very end of Farewell golden... It'd been SO FUNNY if you'd hit the crystal spikes... Well, gg ! :D
other people mentioned that aswell haha, it would certainly have been something
I’m not lying I genuinely spent more time trying to complete the Craig room than I spent to beat the farewell room
1:21 as soon as I heard the Giorno theme this video was an instant 11/10 video
Bro I’ve watched this vid 3 times now, yt please I don’t wanna watch it again😭😭
If you take Noelle's watch in the dark world, and then go to the hospital. 16:36 after this she says "Kris.. Why are you wearing... my watch? Wh... when did you.."
Huge congratulation to this enormous success! I've only just recently beaten 7A - Summit, and am currently working on B-Sides, but so far I've absolutely Loved this game to bits. But I know know the feeling this kind of challenge invokes. Based on the amount of Hollow Knight music in this video, I'm guessing you've played that game and fell in love with it's music. Hollow Knight is My favorite game of all time, always wanting to play more of it, so I set myself up to beat it's hardest challenge. I spent close to 1000h practicing to beat Hollow Knights ultimate challenge, the 5th and final pantheon, pantheon of Hallownest, with all bindings active, and the overwhelming rush of adrenaline when I finally, finally managed to achieve that goal will forever be a cherished memory. And I can see the same passion and thrill in this video as I felt practicing for my runs. And honestly, this looks way, way more challenging than P5AB in Hollow knight. This accomplishment is absolutely legendary. What a legend you are.
I cant even use clouds correctly how on gods green earth did you do this
5 days for 9 golden berries??? I needed 5 days to get golden 3a and then I gave up
Absolutely amazing video man. I truly love celeste and have put in about 70 hours myself. With that said you are absolutely INSANE for going for this challenge. You have a passion for this game that i dont believe i can fathom. I wont be surprised to come back and see your channel at 200k-500k subscribers in a year or two. Keep up the great work and thank you for a great watch 🙏
whats the song at 11:17 it sounds so familiar but i just cant remember from where
music list in description!
i didnt notice, thanks!
not the summoning salt music
The Craig room made me stop playing I just couldn't
I really enjoy everything about this content especially the immaculate music choices with bloodborne and hollow knight
doe playtrough van hollow knight
I feel bad.I saw this video the day it came out and only now did I realize I wasn't subscribed.
