The goal is 700hp na with a solid roller good for 7k rpm. I've seen these 496 builds get up to 800 with better cylinder heads I got performer RPM heads 700 will be pushing it with those but good for street use and it should wind up fast.

@garysgarage.2841 love it! Honestly I can't see how you need 1000 horsepower or more. It's not like you can use it around town. Just my opinion. Don't get me wrong bragging rights are cool 😎 👍

@@bigblockkings1031 I don't mind the welding as much as the grinding of the welds. One thing for sure that welder has payed itself off more times than I can keep track of definitely a good investment.

@garysgarage.2841 finding a welder to come to your house and weld all day is expensive if you can find one.

@@bigblockkings1031 I'm using everything possible spending where it just makes more sense. The inner quarters weren't cheap but saved a ton of work trying to salvage what was there. Thanks for watching my video I really suck at this TH-cam thing.

Getting old sucks

It's a German 5 speed transmission. He said it's the same transmission that's in his Pantera. That transmission is very deceptive looking at it you'd think that little thing is light but it's very heavy.

Too much initial timing

I told him that. The last day before I flew back home he finally found his little program box for the fuel injection and it was set to 15° advance I was thinking he should try 10 and see what that does.

@@garysgarage.2841 Hmm sounds like he just needs to re-verify initial timing to be safe. 15° BTDC at cranking is not far off. I normally tune on Megasquirt and Holley ECU systems and set cranking timing to 8-10°. Also does your friend have a wideband sensor installed on at least one bank to check AFR's? My ears detect a lean "pop" however could be from excessive ignition timing. Edit: I see you guys do have a Wideband installed on bank 1. What was the AFR reading at idle and a warm engine? (after all warm-up enrichment is off)

Ya I looked at your site and the "one" thing u didn't have a video about was doing or being in any way interested in "wrenching". Many vids on making drinks and playing video games though. It is kinda ironic that an engine that just was rebuilt and only runs on 6 of 8, leaks and sounds like an old hit and miss engine would motivate you to revive your "wrenching" skills.

The car has come a long way no expense spared. He got it from that Dennis Collins guy on TH-cam as a project car.

I got them on Amazon figured I'd try them out. They got ones with a rounded edge I thought would be good for getting into corners. They work really well I thought they make fast work of grinding those welds down.

Sorry for the late response TH-cam never tells me I have a comment. I got 36 grit don't want to spend more time than I have to grinding.

I've been trying to make better videos. I just do short clips here and there while I'm working and stack them in one video and hope they make some sense. I've though about getting some sort of phone holder to film things also don't know how much of a difference it'll make.

@@garysgarage.2841 its all trial and error...ive mostly hit error. Lately I just haven't filmed any just taken some pics. Gueas when I cant help out much its hard to feel involved

No bull it was not that bad. The hardest part is where it's spot welded around the back window and the gutter that's there. And it really wasn't difficult just your limited for space so I had to remove the trunk hinge to make it easier. The fit is very good it just lined up and popped right into place I was very pleased about that.

Thanks. I'm happy it's usable trying to save money where I can. Plus it would of sucked buying a new one just to cut it up for mini tubs.
