Woke up to a balmy -17 out, had everything packed and ready to go fishing in the portable, trailered to Longpoint Resort and asked just to see if they had a fishhouse available and decided to rent one instead of setting up and breaking down the portable sled house in negative degree weather.. Had the best ice fishing day that we have had this year.

Didn't do to bad ice fishing the river for the evening bite, fished for 2 hours a few nights and got some slots and some nice keepers, also the tons of little ones we thru back. Hope you enjoy

Rifle season started and first deer seen was the 10pt buck , came out of the woods heading towards the road, i did not have enough time to get the camera on him without him crossing road on me, so sorry for that part, but it is what it is. The second deer happened to be a small buck, (we hunt for the meat not the antlers) decided to take him and end our season on the first weekend. NOW the work...

We hunted 2 Saturdays, got 4 one day, and today November 2nd got 8, should have easily had our limit both days. Lots of grouse out there again this year

Went out for a evening hunt again, flushed about 15 birds total, got 4 for a nice supper

Lots of action fishing but still LOTS of small ones, in the next few weeks the water should be cooling down a lot and will bring the bigger ones in on the reefs or into the river when they start chasing the shiners.. Keep watching for more fall fishing from us, just as long as we can handle the cold..

Camped in Beltrami Island State Forest and did some grouse hunting and ranger riding, lots of cover still out there , hoping for some frost soon, got a few for a meal or two, enjoyed the beautiful weather we had.

First time ever using a downrigger, the release we had wasn't the best, had a small walleye on and it didn't release, next time will be using a chamberlain release which is way better, Dipsy divers we have used plenty of times. Camping and enjoying the beautiful weather at Lake Bemidji state park, (our favorite SP, been going for 25 years here) enjoyed all the bike trails, couldn't do it with out the e-bikes, some of those hills are killers but you don't even notice it with the bikes. Did some antiquing in town and a lot of walking to the beach, hope you enjoy it and thanks for watching.
