Hi everyone, and welcome to my channel. I love making things by hand and sometimes with the use of a machine or gadget. Just to name a few of my interests; I enjoy fiber related crafts, cooking, gardening, sewing, bird watching, and diy projects, and the list goes on. Sharing what I'm up to with friends and family has always been fun, and I'd like to invite you to come along with me and see what I get up to next. You never know what that might be from one day to another.

I haven't recorded a walk in a while, so why not do that this evening. Listen to this nearby pack of coyotes. Shortly after the coyotes quiet down, I'll feed my starter and give you an update on what I've been doing with Pearl. At the end of the video, I felt inspired to read the 23rd Psalm.

Hello! The snow is always so pretty. We usual get our share of snow here in Canada and also very cold. This morning it was -17 F. It's suppose to warm up some for Christmas, so that will be good. Your cake looked delicious. Do your dogs like to play in the snow? Never had canned deer meat, let us know how it is. Happy holidays ❤🎄☃️🎀
Brrr... -17! Now that's cold. I hope that you do get that Christmas warm-up. Thank you, the coffee cake and deer meat were both very good. I made a gravy and cooked pasta to go along with it. Stay warm up there in Canada and Merry Christmas to you.
Extra special watching and listening to the video we are in the dead of winter here in Canada snow and -22F.❤
Beautiful forest of trees with the changing color of the leaves. Very relaxing listening to the sounds of the different birds in the distance. Barking of dogs. ❤

I would love to message with you. I live here in Kentucky. I hurt my back trying to use a wood stove so I’ve been watching you tube and found your channel. I love how real you are and feel like we are friends through the videos lol. Anyway, thanks for your channel God Bless Whitney

Why let the eggs go to room temperature before boiling?
Hi. Letting eggs come to room temperature before boiling will help to keep them from cracking during the cooking process.
Hello! Thanks for sharing a little bit of your harvest. They will be yummy for supper❤.
😊 thank you✨
Hello! Thanks for sharing this beautiful video, very calm and soothing music 🎵🙏🙏
@sylviahudell2171 thank you for your kind comments and for watching my videos.
Hello! That looks like alit of hard work. Back breaking. Little at a time, will beable to look back and say that floor sure looks nice. Thanks for sharing.😊👍
Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging comments.
That looked like one of my attempts! Lol! Very frustrating because I have made bread for years. I have a great starter and do all kinds of baking with the discard but I just couldn’t get the bread to turn out. I finally ran across someone who was from Texas and explained the trouble with “summer” sourdough bread, temperature really affected my dough. I’ve taken a couple months off and am ready to try again. I had to make a few yeast breads so I didn’t feel like a total failure.😊
Love love this video!
Hello! Glad to see the sour dough bread turned out and it was very tasty. The grilled cheese sandwiches looked yummy 😋. Thanks for sharing. Take care from Canada.😊👍
Hello! Nothing like your own pears. That was a beautiful sounding bird. How i wouldn't like to have Cardinals. I like the pray and taste test. Your husband is very complimentary. Your pear cobbler looks very good. Thanks for sharing.🙏❤️❤️
That's gonna be delicious ❤
Hello! The lamp gives off alot of light. It was nice hearing your chiming clock in the background. Your husband is good at flipping those pancakes. They look delicious, they rose up really nice. Thanks for sharing.😋
@sylviahudell2171 thank you for all of your lovely comments and for watching. Yes, I agree Jonathan is really good at flipping pancakes. Haha... It would have been a mess if I had been the one doing that.
Nice surprise! Looking good over there. Love the lamp! Gonna be yummy !

I can tell when fall is on the way by when our walnut tree leaves start turning yellow. Hope you squash make; we considered a late season planting but we needed the bed for something else.
Hello. Thanks for sharing with us. It's the Poplar trees around here, then the Persimmon trees and after them the Maples.
Hello! With your tender loving care I am sure the beets will do fine. Your squash is coming along nicely. The trees here are sure changing color, we have a windy day and they are sure falling. Hope you have a blessed day.🙏🙏
@@sylviahudell2171 aw, thank you. You are so kind.
Stumbled across this video and loved it thanks for sharing!! I vote for Bertha.
Hello, and welcome! Hey, thank you for watching, commenting, and voting.
How about Bertha Pearl😊
lol...I hadn't thought of that! Cute.
How much starter did u have before you fed it?
At the time of this video, I was following a no discard recipe. This recipe does not say to weigh the starter before feeding it, and you simply add the same amount of flour and water each day. Feeding amounts remain the same each day and do not increase. On day one, 50 grams flour and 50 grams water. I hope this answers your question.
@@Onemorehobby-AND-homemaking New subscriber. I don't know why I can't comment so here I am 😂 where did you get your silicone-tip spoon? You're creating/building a starter. Mine is already an established starter. I basically use a similar method but use a clean jar adding equal parts starter 6 oz and 3 oz each flour and water discarding the remaining starter. I use ORGANIC rye flour (as there are considerably more natural yeasts in rye flour) and only feed it once every few weeks.
@@Onemorehobby-AND-homemaking thank you
I look forward everyday to see what you have been up too!
Thank you, and thank you for your comments and for watching too. 🩷
