The men part.... New Yorkers. "Nuff said. ...Speaking as a female raised in NY. Sorry to had to be the target of that.
Curious on what your pack weight was for GA/NC .. I plan doing it this May.
Microspikes and no pants.... LOL. You guys are tenacious!

River Rock Outfitters?!😆 Fredericksburg represent
Heck yeah! Great store, cool town :)
I grew up and live in Wisconsin, and I want the Ice Age Trail to be my first completed thru hike.
That's awesome! I'm sure you'll accomplish it!
Great Overview, know the trail well, good video. Nice vegetation shots.
Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I wish these were longer. Your style of filming is very peaceful
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!!
Congrats!
Thanks so much!
Great way to get people to appreciate nature.
Thanks! That's my goal!
How did you get from the Hotel to the start of the trail in GA? Shuttle?
Yes, I used a shuttle service. If you don't have a friend or family member drop you off there, a shuttle is really the only way.
Stunning scenery, thanks for giving us the opportunity to tag along. I reckon the Minnesota/Wisconsin region would be where I would choose to live in the US if I had the chance (and if only the winters were not so brutal} - from an Aussie follower.
It really is a beautiful region, and I honestly think the winters are perfect here :) I love having 4 very distinct and different seasons. It's all about wearing appropriate clothing for the temps. If you've never been here in person, you should book a trip!
Is this a round about trail or would you need to park and find a ride? Looks like a beautiful trail. Would like to check it out.
It's not quite a loop, but the parking lots at either end are only 3 miles from each other, so it's possible to do solo if you're willing to do a short road walk.
Thank you!
Happy upcoming Veterans Day! The trees sure have changed, few deciduous trees with leaves now. Beautiful journey! Outlooks were gorgeous!
Thank you, and Happy Veterans Day to you too! It definitely was an amazing hike :)
Awesome. Thank you. Blessings
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
:) Mirror Lake SP is not too far from there. Also nice.
I haven't been there, but I'll put it on my list!
Wow, that is a beautiful area of earth.
I agree, it's truly gorgeous!
Thank you Flower 🌼 Always great to hear from you my friends🐾 🙂 Hope you are doing well, stay safe and take care 🙏🏻God Bless 🫶🏻 Appreciate you always !
Thanks for watching! I appreciate your support.
You said there there was plenty of water on the IAT. So what water filter would you recommend? I am trying to set my son with the best equipment so he enjoys hiking as much as I did. Thank you for all of your tips on hiking.
I have used 3 different filters in the past, and all of them work just fine. It's really up to personal preference. I have a Sawyer Squeeze, a Sawyer Mini, and a Katadyn Hiker Pro. The Sawyer brand is definitely one of the most popular that I see on trail.
More 'bout yer ride ?
You are curious about the bike?
Hay Flower… thank you for sharing the section hikes. This one is absolutely fabulous. I agree it was perfect. Just might have to backpack next October myself. And October is my favorite month. Fall colors at porcupine mountains doesn’t get much better. Safe travels, my friend.
You should absolutely do it! You'll love it. And I agree, the Porkies are such a lovely place also.
Thank you for taking me along on your Ice Age adventure. ❤ love the Fall🍁🍁🍁Sharon 80 years
Thank you for taking us along.
Thanks for joining me!
Certainly fall is my favorite here in Western Pennsylvania…. 🙂
So many gorgeous woodlands in PA!
I think you may have a secret admirer... that toad was giving you 😍😍😍 eyes. Perhaps he was secretly a Prince?
Hahaha, could be! I didn't kiss him tho
Definitely October for favorite month.🍁🍂. I always enjoy your videos for your positive attitude and the informative names of plants, flowers, trees, critters. Thanks for sharing!
Awww thanks so much! I appreciate you being one of my long-time viewers :)
Sometimes that extra hour or two in the tent has it’s benefits. I hike often in northwestern Connecticut and the terrain looks very similar
Luckily, it was only about a half hour extra in the tent this time. Northwestern CT is beautiful...I've done the AT there, and I also used to live in the Albany, NY area and took many trips to to CT.
I like October. Blessings trail. Looking forward to the next.
September/October for me as far as favourite months to hike but something special about all months❤️. Another great video and I hope to see another one soon. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
Probably showing my age, but when I was running around the woods as a youngster, we would call getting a wet/muddy shoe like that a “soaker.” Don’t know if anyone calls it that today or not. Favorite months definitely October, January then May.
I do believe that term is still used! You might be the only person I've ever heard say January was a favorite. But I like it too.
Definitely prefer hearing the sounds of the woods and the walk versus the music most youtubers add. Please keep it natural.
Thanks! Glad you enjoy the way I film and present my hikes :)
Thank you Flower 🌼 🌸 Hope you had a wonderful hike my friend 🙂 Stay safe and take care 🙏🏻 God Bless 🫶🏻 Appreciate you always!
Thanks so much! I had a great hike.
@loamseeker5230 That's great to hear my friend 👍🏻 God Bless 🙏🏻 Appreciate you always my friends!
Is the trail well marked or what do you use first navigation?
Most of the trail is really well marked with yellow blazes. However, there have been a few times that I've come across intersections that could use better marking, and I get my FarOut app out to make sure I'm going the right way.
Nice job. Loved all the falling leaves. I like spring best. I noticed in the cancer chemo treatment center they have spring nature shots such as sprouts coming out of the ground. A nurse said it was to emphasize rejuvenation.
That makes sense! Spring has so many exciting things happening...it's a hopeful season.
October. I love fall! Looks like a beautiful trail!
It's a gorgeous trail!
Early spring.
Spring is such an exciting time...I love the spring wildflowers, the frogs, and the arrival of all the birds.
Toss up between October and November. Actually here in WV, the last two weeks of October and the first two weeks of November...Octember maybe?
West Virginia is a beautiful state in so many seasons!
I was backpacking the Ice Age Trail a couple weeks ago, stealth hammock camping. Right around midnight I woke up to coyotes howling and yapping what seemed to be in my immediate vicinity. I loved it. I love nature. The next day, on the trail, a Woodchuck scampered up and down a tree 10 feet in front of me.
That’s an awesome wildlife encounter! I love any and all wildlife that I see and hear out there.
Love, love, love, the identifications. I'm from Minnesota, so they're useful and relevant.
Thanks for your appreciation! I love finding the little things in the woods.
Hi Flower, Just curious; where do you get water on the Ice Age Trail?
Water is actually pretty plentiful on the IAT. Lots of lakes and streams. It's been a dry year this year, and I still didn't have any long carries between water
Wow! How gorgeous! Can't get over those trees surrounding the lake 11! 🌸💙
It truly was a beautiful spot! Wisconsin in autumn is amazing :)
Another georgous video. Thank you so much. Blessings
You were not slow to me,,,you made good time. Thank you. Blessings
Thanks! I was surprised by my slower pace, but not sorry for it at all...it was such a pleasant hike!
Always great to come along on your travels. Would love to see a winter/snowy backpacking trip. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
I would possibly do some winter hiking, but not totally sure about backpacking. It gets extremely cold in northern Wisconsin!! But I won't say never :)
Thank you Flower for another great hike …..
Glad you enjoyed it!
Enjoyed that. Very peaceful hearing nothing and then a few bird calls. Maybe make it into one of those sleep apps.
That would be a good app!
Are you going to do hiking adventures this Winter in the cold and snow and take us along? (Hope so) Also as far as sounds at night in the woods, the red fox screaming in the dark can be spooky if your by yourself. Plus coyotes when they feel threatened really make a unearthly racket in the dark. ( I’m in Bucks County, PA.)
I might do some winter hiking, but I doubt I'll do much backpacking....it gets into the below zero temps up here at night pretty often. Yes, you are correct...red fox noises can be really terrible sounding! I imagine people would be quite frightened of that the first time they hear it.
Hi Flower 🌼 🌸 👋🏻 Thank you for a beautiful video, always great to hear from you my friend , stay safe and take care 🙏🏻 God Bless 🫶🏻 Appreciate you always!
Very impressive production, presentation and content. Love the IDs along the way. I learned a lot and I've signed up for more.
Thank you and welcome aboard! So glad you like the way I film :)
