Ironically even after he went full 'villain' I still don't think he was in the wrong or evil (besides Jaques deserved it and would def still be screwing people over and ruining lives if he survived, plus he was kinda partially responsible for everything.). I mean Salem has the relic (which is exactly what Ironwood was trying to prevent. And now instead of Mantle 'possibly' being sacrificed. Mantle and Atlas are both completely destroyed and it's few remaining survivors are stranded in a grim covered desert waste of which I theorize may be a completely destroyed Vacuo. I mean. If he succeeded in doing what he was trying to do without constant unrelenting interference from RWBY, 'ORNJ', Jaques Schnee and Mantle. Most if not all of Mantle would have been evacuated to Atlas and be high in the sky. Salem would not have the relic or winter maiden until space travel is invented. Giving him plenty of time to think up another solution.

I know this video is old but I'm lowkey still angry about what they did to his character. I haven't heard anyone ask, though... *Why*? He was such a well written character in volume 7, morally grey, what happened for them to rush his arc into being evil? Was it the fanfare from fans rooting for a character we "weren't supposed to root for"? Was it because they got a new writer or something? I know how they fucked him up, but I still would like to know why.
