What's the purpose? Seems alot more difficult than scissors.
I'm designing a reefed parachute for the level 2 high power rocket I'm building. Essentially, the rocket will fly to its max altitude, open up a parachute halfway, then near the ground a specific line on the parachute will be severed by this line cutter, allowing the parachute to open fully and slow its descent just before hitting the ground. Here's a video demonstrating what I'm working on (but at a smaller scale): th-cam.com/video/5GqdLdsnF0k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=H_YO0Jzsnm2wdJ8m&t=31
@@LiftoffLumberjack neat.
What is this for?
It's for a reefed parachute design I'm working on. It'll be used in place of dual-deployment for the level 2 high power rocket I'm building.
