Helping volunteer youth coaches be the best they can be. We've started with youth basketball (grades K-8). We have a complete season for practice plans. This is great especially for first time volunteer coaches. Our practice plans at www.icoachnow.com, come with written instructions as well as video of each drill you'll find in the practice plan.
Our tube channel has all of drills. The important part of the practice plan is putting together a well balanced approach with fun games, individual skills development and team offense and defense. Our plans, do this for you. Check us out www.icoachnow.com.

This a great way for youth basketball players to develop they dribbling skills. It's a 20 minute dribbling workout. 45 seconds dribbling, 15 seconds resting.
Set a goal for a period of days to do consecutively, like 30 or 60 days in a row. You'll be amazed at the progress. It'll be hard at first, like really hard. But if you can 7 days, then it'll get easier, and then your start to work on speed and strength of your basketball dribble pounds.

Basketball Shooting - Miken and McHale Layups - Coaching Youth Basketball
มุมมอง 2.2K8 ปีที่แล้ว
iCoachNow Shooting - Miken and McHale Layups This is one of my favorite drills. It develops both strong and weak hand and requires the youth basketball player work both footwork and shooting at the same time. The player should stand in front of the rim and then use a crossover step shoot a layup keeping the ball high (don't bring it down low). Get the rebound and start again in front of the rim...

iCoachNow Defense - 3 on 3 Rebounding Shell This a great fundamental youth basketball rebounding drill. 1) Start with 3 players on the perimeter. they are on offense. 2) Then have 3 defenders in the key area chop their feet. 3) Slap and toss the ball to an offensive player. 4) Defenders turn and close out and then "Box Out" the offensive players, as the offensive player who received the pass sh...

I learned a lot from your coaching sir. Thanks a lot. More coaching videos to upload...
THIS IS GREAT GREAT STUFF!!! So do you always run the offense when the PG picks up the ball? Is that the sign for all to cut every time? I am just wondering if your PG Gets stranded a lot
It's more challenging to teach young kids
This would definitely give other youth teams a headache, most don't know how to switch yet. We're going to try this!
Best video on this topic!
Great explanation!
Just to clarify. You can begin your dribble with two hands.
Can you hold the ball while standing still and dribble while staying in place then normal dribbling?
My middle school rules were when its 1 on 1 you gotta make 3 hoops..and bumping is full in play to mess the other player :p
2:13 DO NOT THINK I DID NOT SEE THAT THIS CHILD IS A MENACE
1:59 DO NOT THINK I DID NOT SEE THAT KID I HATE THAT CHILD WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING
0:46 THAT KID STEPPED PAST THE LINE BEFORE THROWING DO NOT THINK I MISSED THAT GET THAT KID OUT OF HERE IF I EVER SEE HIM IRL I AM THOWING HANDS
SO AMAZING 🤩
More philosophical question: why you choose to teach tactics initials, while boys do not dribble correctly, do not stop the right way yet?
I’m doing it tomorrow ty
Double dribbling is a violation, right?
Yes, that is correct.
Miss this use to juke out my classmates
Why would you teach kids to tip the ball backwards?
Hey Mike, it depends on how your team and your opponent line up. If it's in a defensive position like we set up, then tipping back makes sense. Of the strategy would be to have two of your players side by side, then tip to them. Thanks for watching.
@@jonpippert781 we had this argument with my 10 year olds coach. They wanted it tipped backwards blindly. My brother in law played pro in Europe and my wife in college and they were taught forward to an open player.
YO OUR SCHOOL LOVES THIS GAME NOW WE CANT DO IT ANYMORE SINCE WERE AT OUR LAST GRADE OF ELEMENTARY SADLY.
wait are you allowed to fake pass then dribble
Hi Vikram, Yes, ball fakes work well prior to dribble. You get one opportunity to dribble. You can ball fake prior and after dribbling. Check out the basics of passing: th-cam.com/video/_kynqFsnfGw/w-d-xo.html
Cool game
Thanks for the vid.
appreciate you work
Hungry shark theme intensifies*
This is what young players need! Great Job Coach!
Hello
that one kid acting with his hands like: DRIBBLE DRIBBLE THROW
,
I’ve trained since a kid so I never double dribble or travel, it’s just a natural instinct now
they aint too bad
Why would you jump stop? That’s only going to build bad habits for later.. smfh
Good point and question. For young and inexperienced players, they have a difficult time with the exchange while moving. The jump stop gives them a high probably for a successful exchange. Older, more experienced players can handle ths exchange with movement.
@@jonpippert3519 exactly, and the jump stop is necessary to prevent a moving screen foul being call, because the person handing off is also a de facto screener. If he is still moving when he hands it off, it can be called a moving screen, as they are suppose to set in the event of a screen. You see the handoff being called a an offensive foul more and more in the college game, as it was a "point of emphasis" last year for cleaning up the game.
blonde boy didnt shoot from the free throw line multiple times
didnt even win lol
I used to spike it to my team
Way to teach the fundamental concepts at a young age! Nice work!
Thanks
Moving more than 3 feet to the side on a designated spot throw in is not traveling but it is a throw in violation.
Best explanation I found!
He made one error. Jump ball restrictions end when the ball touches either a non-jumper or the floor. Once the ball bounces on the floor either jumper can legally gain possession.
Hey Patrick, thanks for pointing that out. Thanks for watching www.icoachnow.com.
sorta, the ball must touch the floor outside the circle for the jumper to be able to gain possession
@@andynewman5347 that is not in the rulebook

How often does a kid get caught with an elbow with this
Hi Phillip - I've never seen any injuries come out of this drill. The "Chin and Pivot" move let's defenders know not to attach my ball. I've seen it a catch an elbow once or twice in ball games. The key to teaching this is not to swing the elbows, but pivot, and move the ball the ear to ear. This keeps the elbows from swing, and is not a violation. Glad you enjoy the videos. Check our website at www.icoachnow.com.
Very good
Those rims suck.... (No Offense)
I totally agree. My old elementary school gym had similar wall mounted basketball hoops and the rims made the exact clang sound when the ball would hit it. Maybe they need to be replaced or fixed

First this is great!
